I would like to remind Kenyans of the history of the Congo.The Congo had two powerful leaders soon after independence....Joseph Kasavubu and Patrice Lumumba . Kasavubu was the President and Patrice Lumumba the Prime Minister.They fought endlessly Both disappeared into oblivion.Nearer home, Uganda had Dr Milton Obote and the Kabaka of Buganda kingdom,Sir Edward Mutesa.Both were powerful and very influential but could not agree on the running of the country.Both lost their power and fame.The moral of this story...these fights never produce winners...only losers.The fight between Ruto and Uhuru will eventually end in tears...how,when and at what price I cannot tell.

Why have billionaires, Humphrey Kariuki, Tabitha Karanja and Mary Wambui Mungai been exempted from paying 45B in taxes? Have their tax evasion cases in court been dropped just because they support UDA?
Ruto has exempted all churches from paying taxes. Churches are not only one of the best business ideas for profit sharks in Africa, but they're also likely the most insidious, more than drugs (narcotics) or even betting, by far. Masses of poor people are sustained on nothing but hope for up to decades, as pastors with the latest vehicles and aircraft fleece them of the little they have. The biggest problem here is that the brainwashed followers fail to be economically productive to their fullest potential as they pray (for years) for manna to fall from heaven.
I know one of the worst thugs in my home village who became a 'pastor'. Nothing has changed about his thuggishness, he's just shifted into a playground where people voluntarily open up their wallets for him to rob them. When I think about this guy I feel sick to my stomach. Or pastor Kanyari. And many others that I can list here.
Who is this hounding economically productive businesses to prop up ones that are detrimental not just to the economy but to society? The one with a wife who lied to the brainwashed sheep that she prayed to turn dirty water to clean? How about she prays for the man to honor marital vows he made in the presence of the said God?
To pay taxes is ok but if the president what doing look like revenge
I won’t be surprised if this issue is completely dead in a months time and obviously nothing happens, everything in this country is politicised, everything.

As of tax payment being 'biblical', not everyone in Kenya reads the bible or is Christian for that matter. It may not make sense to most people.

From my Understanding:
1. it's the LAW that they shouldn't pay tax on inherited land
2. Even when the Law is removed, tax can't be backdated because the Law exempted them for that period
3. This is just politics, like the SGR story that was brought up by Murkomen in the middle of a KQ Pilot standoff on Sunday Night, by Monday afternoon, it was forgotten, the tax evasion story is meant to cool off the Raila rallies, and keep Kenyans distracted, Wakenya wamependa mdomo, you must always give them something fresh to talk about in their offices, pubs and barazas so that you loot peacefully, there's always a new topic every week
The law will be changed and we can expect them to pay inheritance tax after mama ngina is gone.
@@kimfxer Mama Ngina has very little property in her name. Very little tax shall be paid.
1. Inheritance tax is payable on certain types of land like urban property. Most rural property is exempt.
2. The law exempted Jomo Kenyatta from paying estate tax. There is no way of recovering that tax from Uhuru or Mama Ngina the courts can't allow taxes that should have been paid in 1978 to be collected in 2023 too much time has passed.
3. You are right the Constitution doesn't allow parliament to make laws that punish or penalize people for any actions they took before the law was passed.
4. Lastly, Ruto seems to be saying that they should now pay taxes because of supporting opposition and NOT because the government needs the money or there was tax evasion.
Sawa with the law. His Excellence has put it clearly that it is not additional tax but what should paid and that exemption was punitive brother.

If these things are TRUE then anyone whohad been excepted from PAYING the taxes should come forward & apologize to Kenyans on their behalf or families & repay back as a good sign that they have been stealing from their parents,children,brother's, sisters,& relatives with out knowing & OUR GOD SHALL FORGIVE THEM.
As much as everyone should lend a hand like any other in building our economy I think we have empowered agencies to deal with tax evasion I don't see why the president is dwelling in such a matter while we are sinking in deep shit. This to me is a political move we need to be enlightened as Kenyans on how to pay taxes coz a good number mostly business people are not paying taxes, Kuna watu wako jua kali industry who thinks buying a packet of Unga is paying tax yet they earn good money and that's why we as kenyans/Africans do not get bitter with our leaders looting coz we don't understand where or who they are looting from.
