In this video I compare Call of Duty Vanguard and Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War on nine different categories and talk about particular points within each category. Whichever game I feel makes that particular point better will be awarded the point and by the end we’ll have a final score and whichever game with more points is the better game. There’s a couple things I want to add that I didn’t really talk about in the video. First, I don’t think my “which game is better” scoring format works very well with Call of Duty Games, considering how subjective everything is. For example if you’re a zombies player or fan you’re obviously going to prefer Cold War to Vanguard, so I apologize that the scoring system doesn’t feel very accurate. Also I realize Vanguard is quite broken at the minute, as is every COD game these days on release, and lot of the issues that are being discovered came after I made this video, regardless I trust Sledgehammer will resolve many of these issues with updates, just like how they did with World War 2. I am sorry if I did upset anyone though for not talking about a lot of the glitches and broken weapons with Vanguard. It’s my first time doing this type of video for Call of Duty and I’ve learned quite a lot about where it could be improved.

Idk cold war is a much better game imo. Campaign and zombies make it way better. Mp is subjective but CW is better imo because it keeps the BO series small tighter style gunfights intact. Making more competitive style gameplay.

Yeah. I see them as such different games. I think Cold War is the better Arena shooter and Vanguard is a better overall shooter for any size of map. Black Ops always felt like a Halo with real guns vs MW/Warzone being more like Battlefield while still being different. Vanguard parks itself right in the middle

For me, the main problem is that they need to make an opposing team for operators. Just like every previous call of duty. It can be confusing and frustrating when you have a team mate and an enemy that are the same operator…

True my bad but I suppose its been a while, and the choices made the campaign a lot more fun to me, regardless of it being the first one with choices or not.
I really gotta disagree with the gunsmith cw gunsmith with almost all the guns are just a copy and paste of eachother so no gun feels that unique compared to vanguard or even mw

One thing I’m reeeally gonna have to disagree with is the spawning, I’ve played a lot of Blitz and Assault lobbies and I spawn in front of enemies ALL the time. That doesn’t happen to me that often in Cold War. Other than that great video

We are having very different experiences of the spawn system in cold war 😂 no matter how much I check my six there's always someone spawning behind me when I get to a nice killstreak lmao
I feel like cold war is better than vanguard. modern warfare and warzone engines are ok but something about cold war motion is better to me
I agree and actually as last year I cant even play MW without getting motion sickness. The pace and movement are too bouncy and slow.
I think people are just now realizing how much easier CW MP was. It was miles easier than Vanguard. The maps were also technically better because of the 3 lanes. But that also made them get boring and stale fast.
Imo cold war has a higher skill gap due to longer ttk requiring better tracking, thus feeling easier to skilled players and harder to less skilled players. And vise versa for vangaurd, lower skill gap making the game feel harder to skilled players

Cw has like 50 different soundtracks you can play in the menu and in game!
Cold War menus and splash screen are much nicer
Cold War operators are a lot more interesting with more personality
Movement is way better and smooth unlike vangarbage tac sprint and slow as fuck walking speed
Zombies is obviously better, enough said about that one
Cold War actually feels like a game set in the Cold War, vanguard doesn’t even give me that WWII feel
Cold War maps are so damn good, not a single bad one except maby garrison
Dark matter and dark aether look way better than vanguard camos and the challenges them selves are easier and less boring

I have your respect opinion. Alot of ppl will be agree or disagree but cold war trying to make the black ops series and make it like real black ops. MW 2019 is my favorite. I love the engine the movement. It just so sexy 😍. Hate it or love it but MW 2019 is my favorite of 3 games. Oh by the way I have Vanguard. I actually enjoy it but at the same time it's frustrated because of those spawn time 😠. It still un development game and they need to update alot of stuff that have issue in that game.
Not sure if I’m weird but I prefer the movement in Cold War. something I don’t think you mentioned (or I wasn’t paying enough attention) was that I like the removal of wildcards, as most would just pick perk greed anyway, I like that the majority of the build is focused on the weapon attachments.

Vangaurd mapping visibility sucks, difficult to pick up enemies, basically looking for Red dots. Cold War has much better visibility.

I’ve been playing COD since 2004 and Cold War isn’t the best, in fact it’s not even a great game, but it’s the best Call of Duty we’ve had since Black Ops 3 in terms of the multiplayer alone.

I personally would've done CoD: Vanguard vs. CoD: WWII first, as that's a comparison that makes sense. Both games were made by Sledgehammer and took place in World War 2, so it's only right to compare those two games.

I prefer Vanguard. People accuse it of being historically inaccurate, but that was the job of COD WW2. Vanguard is an exaggeration of WW2 more to the tone of “Inglorious Basterds” or “Sisu”. From this perspective, Vanguard is really enjoyable and not as historically bankrupt as people say it is.

@@itouchgrass_0 Vanguard. I haven’t had the “Spawn kill” issues others have had. Maybe I’m lucky, but I enjoy the maps, weapons, and operators a bit more in Vanguard.

Bruh it’s so pathetic how broken Warzone/Mw2019 and Vanguard are right now. I don’t mind any difference in terms of game play styles but Cold war is way more stable than those 2 games combined.

GET VANGUARD FOR MULTI-PLAYER AND GET COLD WAR FOR CAMPAIGN AND ZOMBIES
BOCW: Great Campaign. Good multiplayer. Excellent zombies. More players. Likely lower price ($20 lowest).
Vanguard: Bad campaign. Avg multiplayer. Bland zombies. Less players. Likely higher price ($30 lowest).
Finally it's your choice. If you already have other new cods you might buy vanguard. Otherwise a hard no.
BOCW will be definitely worth if you're into zombies.

This is NO CONTEST here; Cold War ended up a really good cod imo. Started slow but great to play now! The 6v6 mode on the gunfight maps is brilliant!

Ghost did not originally work only when moving. In the first Black Ops game where it was introduced, it worked at all times to hide you on the map. Everyone's opinion is different. I personally find Vanguard to be an overplayed WW2 trope. The campaign of BOCW was much more entertaining and I liked its return to old school form in Multiplayer. I know a lot of reviewers and RUclipsrs thought it was a step backwards but to be quite honest, there are a LOT of COD fans who want that. For instance, there is a huge hype over this upcoming mod for MW2 that returns to the original COD formula but includes the best weapons from several generations of COD. Activision and their many developers have been all over the place with the directions they've been taking the series in. From terrible games like Advanced Warfare to rehashed WW2 stories, it has seemed like they really have no idea what the actual player base wants. I'm not saying BOCW is an amazing or perfect game by any means, but its campaign was quite enjoyable and it felt good to play a COD multiplayer that felt like it did in the old days. The original Black Ops, BO2 and MW3 will always be my favorites and if I could have remasters of those with new maps and guns added I would buy them over ANY of these newer COD games.

Hardcore in Vanguard is completely broken with impact nades
Gunplay it depends on what you like as MW/WZ/VG keep that unnecessary realistic feeling while CW kept it the COD way
Movement ehhh well you still have broken slide-cancel and well CW once again kept it COD traditional movement but it depends on what you want
Weapon Balance, it is hard to tackle this own as VG is still relatively new and it has stayed with STG, MP40 and broken Shotguns since launch but that does not mean CW avoided broken shit
Map Design, this one goes to CW- sure VG has 16 but the majority are complete dogwater and none of them stand out- only Das Haus

At the end of the day... the best cod is mostly subjective and anyone's opinion will make people say "he's right/ he's absolutely wrong..."
I'm gonna leave it up to you but i will share 5 simple reasons why i prefer Cold War for the following reasons :
- it's guns selections as they feel better imo
- Most of the multiplayer maps are very well designed imo
- i enjoy playing Cold War zombies way more than Vanguard for multiple reasons you probably know about. *👀 Content*
- Cold War added features that aren't even a thing in Vanguard and if it was already there on older cod(s) at least it's still there on CW *Pause Feature for Zombies* 👀👀
- i love the 80s style and Cold War just matches that while i am tired of World War period that Vanguard takes on.
which btw we have seen through cod World at War, WWII, even outside activision with BF1, BF5, more recently Enlisted...

Some things I want to say about your video! Can you add maybe a title of what point you are talking about? Maybe at the center of the screen, or maybe just at the beginning of the section just put “gunsmith” and fade it to gameplay. Also, when giving points, can you animate the numbers a little bit more? I think it’s hard to realize what game are you giving points to, a bell sound can also work.

A bit of context: Even though I played World at War, I’d consider myself a “new Gen player” since that was all I had until Warzone dropped. Didn’t buy MW tho because I didn’t have the money, and by the time I did, CW came out so I just got it since it was the new game. I eventually tried the Vanguard Beta and free weekend.
I really enjoyed Cold War’s campaign. Yeah it was really short, but what little it offered was fantastic imo. I’ve replayed it like 4 times trying to do all the different choices. Multiplayer is pretty fun, I definitely enjoy the facelift the series got in 2019. Everything’s a lot smoother. Zombies is also good.
What little I’ve played of Vanguard’s multiplayer was honestly some of the best-feeling CoD gunplay I’ve ever experienced. But I realize that’s just because it’s MW’s engine. I also enjoy being able to set how many players you face. However, everybody ranting about how terrible the game supposedly is has me not wanting to buy it except for at a discount.
I honestly might just wait until this year’s CoD, which supposedly will be MW2.

This is why I haven't bought a new COD since Black Ops 3. Vanguard came out only a year after, so there's no point in buying the "newest" COD games because they push new ones out every year

Vanguard is too random, too quick, and getting better is less important than getting attachments.
Cold War can be frustrating but it at least tried to be a game that respects your aim and tactics.

Ive been having fun with Vangaurd mp. Hard to say what is better just know ive been playing the most mp i have in years with Vangaurd.
You have to give the creativity to cold war though. Sure, vanguard launches someone across the map woth the godzilla finisher but cold war has things ranging from tactical takedowns to nut kicks and rc vehicles.

Cold War wins my attention all the way. While I was playing vanguard it got boring really fast. Don’t like the feeling of the guns and I don’t like the maps, it was more confusing. My girl even enjoyed watching me play Cold War than vanguard and she was the one who bought me vanguard for Valentine’s Day

Hey friend I'm an old school gamer. I started with the Original Atari & I'm still a gamer. Love to play games in general. I really don't judge the games. I just play em. I'm a zombie, war, silent hill, days gone,last of us, type. But like you reviews friend stay groovy.
For me CW is better. Better campaign. Better setting, better weapons, better maps, WAAAAY better zombies. Also, it has more modes like prop hunt. Vanguard has good gunplay but everyone is JUST. SO. DAMN. SWEATY. TRYHARD.
Many people hate Cold Wars gameplay but I actually enjoy it and I also love the Cold War so the game is good IMO

Black Ops Cold War is the best call of duty game ever made for multiplayer maps, it's like having every black ops in one with really fun guns fast movement and its set in the 80s so the whole game feels like a scarface movie or vice city, this games maps make mw 2019 and vanguard look bad, but I can't say its as realistic its more arcade fun type of cod that's what treyarch is known for,, but MW2 is very great it obviously learned a lot from cold war and vanguard, and is super fun multiplayer maps there is already 11 with its own ground war maps an warzone 2 there's a lot to do and the games maps are actually all great except for boardercrossing its totally a mw2019 map that does not work .... You have to be addicted to eating Colgate toothpaste to think vanguard is better than coldwar. You can release with 500 maps but if 495 are trash it’s irrelevant. The only thing vanguard does better is the gun play, and patrol is cool. But no, vanguard is 💯 dog shit.
