The fact the main twist in this game is based on a real life illegal operation the cia ran, MK Ultra, and not some cartoonish betrayal makes the story much more grounded in reality and perfectly matches the Cold War setting.
@@edu7979 It's worth applauding because its a great story.cold War definitely wanted to replicate the feeling of bo1 but did so in a way that referenced its roots but still had its own identity. The story isn't identical and while it may be reminiscent, it never feels like a copy of bo1.
Very nice detail, the guy who did the CW campaing is the same that wrote BO1 and BO2 campaings, and it make sense thise are the best campaings of Black ops

100% the best campaign, the connection you felt with Adler was insane. Like it really felt like we were brothers for decades, that we fought togetherand bled together. And it all was a lie. BO1 did an amazing job by saying Reznov was a lie, but actually your whole life being a lie was an insane plot twist. And the Duga ending was amazing, you killing all of your comrades is insane. just a bit goofy how we survive a rocket launcher shot right at our feet but i can't complain to much about a second ending. Especially because that second ending was executed so perfectly, it really makes you think about the whole concept, the Soviet Union just owning the intire world with their power, that would've been insane. This campaign deff got me interested in the actual cold war and everything like that. What an amazing campaign. And I will be so pissed if they change Adler's voice in BO6, he has the best voice and is one of the best characters in cod history while being in only one game. And If you want to see more from adler and his team and this campaign watch the warzone cutscenes where adler get brainwashed.
By what i know,his voice actor (Bruce thomas) is still working as adler,he's been also posting stuff about him on instagram. And btw,i agree,he's a deep character,no need to be edgy or hot headed to be mysterious and intimidating. People hate him because they can't bear losing in a game (despite being playing as a literal russian spy and t3rrorist),they just labelled him as a villain because reasons. All of the operations on BO are illegal,it was clear,so why aren't the others labelled as villains.

Introducing the Perseus faction in this game was really interesting and recontextualizes the events of BO1. Dragovich was a key member of Perseus, using rouge soviet elements to set up his plan. After he died and the underwater base and nova 6 was destroyed, Perseus suffered a huge setback, not coming up with another big plan until the 80's, and was still reliant on traces of Dragovich's work.
Fun fact: when Regan enters the room you can actually see him hold a baze of sweets that was actually true as regan during this time was trying to quite smoking

I’m in the minority who love this game for everything it has to offer. I’m primarily a zombies enjoyer and Cold War didn’t disappoint, in my opinion it has some of the most replayable zombies in the entire franchise. The MP is nothing amazing but I still find enjoyment when I go back to it. And the campaign, oh My god easily my favorite campaign in the franchise. Overall I love everything Cold War has to offer and it’s one of the few COD titles that I’ve actually dedicated time to leveling up every weapon in the game including DLC weapons.
LITTERALLY. THe Zombies was so great. Meanwhile in BO6 the zombies were litterally just mid. The graphics were ass and there was nothing interesting about zombies. Cold War had the best zombies in recent years. The game was just amazing bro.

For Real! Cold war zombies and the story are my favorite since bo3 bo2. Most underrated COD of all time, the story was mind blowing and refreshing, felt like old cod. And the zombies is addicting and satisfying, so much so I still play it today. Good video.
Love the treyarch games, and I purchased Cold War day 1. Played the campaign first mission and I don’t know why but something just felt weird to me. After the first mission I loaded up zombies because like most that’s my favourite mode, it once again just felt really weird to me. I eventually narrowed it down to the regression in gunplay from mw2019. The fidelity and animations on weapons as well as cover shooting had spoiled me in the previous title to the point where I didn’t return to Cold War until late last year. And like you state it’s a masterpiece. Zombies is great and I just completed the campaign yesterday and man what a story. It’s shame I felt the way I did on release.
Cold war is in my top 3 favorites call of duty of all time. Campaing is a straight up masterpiece! I know the multiplayer wasn't a fan favorite but I do think that it came back to some simpler time were call of duty was more arcady wich I adore. I got Cold War last week i believe and i was well aware of the hate around the game. But i knew nothing about the game except it was very hated. I played through some of the campaign, i will finish it eventually. I played a bit of the multiplayer (it was actually my first time playing multiplayer at all on any cod game), i sucked, but my team won. Amd Zombies. It was a whole different experience than what i was used to. But it was so fun
The campaign is one of my favorites, but I absolutely love Die Maschine. It nailed the vibes of Zombies in the 80s, brought back gameplay elements crucial to Zombies, and it had a very good story looking back.
Forgotten its only been four years and this is the one i remember the most. But i do only buy these games a year or two after they've come out and had a sale, i ain't paying $60 for a yearly release

Forgotten its only been four years and this is the one i remember the most. But i do only buy these games a year or two after they've come out and had a sale, i ain't paying $60 for a yearly release
I adore how they introduced new characters in a good way without messing with the timeline or anything else (as BO2 is still canon)

blops cold war was such a great story what sucks is that people basically ignore it to play the multiplayer or zombies. then again ignored all of modern warfare 2 and 3 story for the zombies and pvp
I genuinely miss Cold War, some of the most fun I've had in a game in general.
Cold war is a top 5 campaign but park makes it a top 3

Honestly i loved Black ops Cold War as a whole tbh, multiplayer was pretty good the Zombies was pretty decent and the story was great. Cold War should be more popular man
