    The reason you weren't getting coal in the fire box is because your cross hair wasn't actually in the firebox. The aim of the shovel isn't dependent on the position of the shovel itself. It's actually dependent on the position of your cross hair.

    The coal can be shoveled in if the firebox thing shows up in the top left, the tank engine has 3 couplers because it worked on dual gauge rails and moved around standard gauge rolling stock.

    cowcatcher on the rear of a tank engine makes sense - many corps would run tanks forward and reverse - tenders were preferred forward for mainline work.

    ET&WNC! East Tennessee & Western North Carolina! A lot of their former grades are now trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Sometimes you'll come across old track along the Walnut Falls trail. I think US276 between Waynesville and Brevard, NC also runs along their old grade.

    interesting to see the new log cars reduce the price by about 25%factoring in capacity but trade that off with a longer train
    new coal cars are a worse value as they hold less with similar costs
    The Boxcar vs stock car are same price, capacity and weight
    oil cars are a wash in terms of price vs capacity given the 3:2 ratio but they are heavier.

    Great video. The new update is good, but why is it so hard to place the coal tower? The tower seems to be mostly off the screen to the left so you can hardly see it and there is no way of knowing how to place it correctly. There really needs to be some sort of track snapping or at least a guide like with the original water tower.

    • @gingie5246

    I am kind of sad we didn't get the 2-6-6-2 mallet as I thought it was coming out. Maybe later hopefully I'm not sure.
    I also want to say after much thought the TenMile doesn't make much sense a potentially early game engine. With no way to fuel it early on by the time you are able to actually get coal for it you've most likely moved on to bigger and better engines.
    Now depending on difficulty settings it certainly can still be useful but for those that want to play with a relatively cheap coal engine early game well it's just not a viable option.
    Just an observation I am stoked for update and have sampled it already. I do also hope for more industries for our new rolling stock. The stock car just seems pointless right now.

      The mason is a very versatile engine, can do a bit of everything. It is basically a class 48 with more fuel, so it definitely has a place, maybe not early in the game when you only have a handful of engines, but later when you have an extensive network and need a versatile engine.
      I just wish they made the locomotives actually have different operating costs to justify using the smaller engines sometimes.

    • @TallboyDave
      @TallboyDave Год назад +2

      I seem to vaguely remember reading somewhere that Mason Bogie engines were often used as passenger engines? Maybe that's what it's for- a taster for when passenger trains come in?

    • @PennsyPappas
      @PennsyPappas Год назад +1

      @@jorge8596 Oh from what I've seen the Mason Basin is definitely going to be very versatile and by the time you get to those higher tier engines youre probably connected to the coal mine. It's only the TenMile that it's low enough tier and cost that one would love to use and yet it may not be possible early on.
      As for costs I don't know about having operating costs but for time being some of the engines under 3000 bucks do need to be cheaper given that for their money they really aren't worth using when compared to something like the Glenbrook.

      @@RobiBue it seems that i was wrong with the first part of my comment. hyce said in his last livestream that the leaver is right the way it is but there are other problems with it like that the moving rail part is way too thick and that many guides and other details are missing. he sadly didn't try to connect other rails to it so he didn't see the broken spline connection on the right outgoing side. hyce was really dissapointed with many of the things in the update.
