I recently moved to USA Chicago..They asked me whether I have rice. I said yes and they removed it.. Main thing which was not allowed is rice, cummin seeds, ground nut, curry leaves, chick peas vegetables and fruits

This time when I came to USA, my check in baggage was bungled. I came here for my daughter 's delivery and I brought lots of bangles, bangle boxes, silver kada bangles, silk sarees, sieve etc., etc. I came in British Airways. Nearly ₹ 50,000/- worth of articles was taken from my check in baggage. We have claimed compensation but no reply from the British Airways. I boarded in Chennai and came to Seattle.

I didn't declare 'vegetables' in the declaration form since I didn't bring any vegetables.. But the officer told me that you have pickles in your baggage so you must declare vegetables.. it completely did not make any sense to me..
I visited four times to USA.i took karuvepilai fresh leaves in zip bag.nearly 1 kg .but no question. But last time Delhi to dubai then Chicago.british airlines.we had travel to seatle. I filled 1 custom form for my family 2.but at custom clearance they asked 2 forms and directed to get a sign etc...some what frightened for us since time gap is very less .but one Indian man came and helped for us at the last minute. We got tensed since Chicago airport domestic travel was new experience.

In the customs declaration form, it is mentioned fruits,vegetables, plants,seeds, food, insects in Serial Number 11 (a). Actually we used take masala items and other groceries to USA. My question is if we take these items, shall we tick yes or no in item 11(a) because these items are also food items. Shall we have to declare in that form that we are bringing these items. Plz clarify.

Came via SFO (Seattle as well). Custom forms are not given nowadays. Questions about food were asked directly at immigration officer .
