    Whatever you do with the Neotec 3 or other helmets, try experimenting with more robust tabs that snap in like the original rather than an adhesive and see how that works.

    Very nice, but why use tape, and not plastic tabs to insert into the cover it replaces?

      my thoughts exactly, what a let down. Just make a piece that slides into the fitting with the mount. Probably something to do with proprietary designs ect ect

    Not a fan of the stick on option. I can't see why Cardo didn't make an adapter that uses the SRL2 connector. Surely that would be cheaper, be more solid and easily removable? I've just followed another RUclips video and got an actual clip-on adapter 3D printed and it is perfect. Video is called "Attaching a Cardo Packtalk Edge or Bold to a Shoei GT Air 2 or Neotec using Sena SRL2"

    Interesting. Was wondering how this worked. Seems like a little more effort could have been put into it to make it just clip into the helmet like the cover did rather than using adhesive. Even if it cost a little bit more I think it would be a better option.

  • @lionelcook8522
    @lionelcook8522 9 месяцев назад +3

    It would be good if you did a mount for the Spirit HD, not just the more expensive models.
    Not all of us require mesh as we ride by ourselves or with just a pillion.

    My wife gave me a gift, Shoei GT-AIR II and I decided to change my intercom to their original one (Which is Sena) after 3 days of use, I sent it back and installed my good-old Cardo Freecom 1 to my helmet. I'm more than happy now! But it's good to know this option. If I'll buy a new one, I'll use this mount.

    Where can we expect this for the new Neotec 3 and GT-AIR3? Given they were just released, I would hope that adapters for these would also be relased. I understand you realeasing these for the existing versions, due there being more out there. I'll be waiting for the adapter for the new version. Great initiative nevertheless. Love your products!!

      I am not sure if Cardo has released these yet but if not, I wanted to also point you towards the 3D printing community. I am certain this component has been designed and is purchasable from a 3rd party 3D print service, if they still don’t have it. Just a quick search away! :) cheers.

    • @jbarquinha1
      @jbarquinha1 3 месяца назад +1

      @bluebeast1583 hey, thanks for the tip. Anyway, I went with the HJC RPHA 91, and ended up glueing it to the part that you would remove to install their comms system, essentially the same if I had gone for the NEOTEC 3 (and had I not find a 3d printed adapter). I glue it on there with their 3M tape and left it there with two clamps for around 24 hours. I've tried pushing it in all directions and pulling with some force and it appears that the cover won't get off easy.
      Also of interest, I managed to pass all wires through the paths normally there for the original comms, with the 3.5mm plug inside the "hole" normally for the battery on the back of the helmet, avowing this way adding a possible pressure point somewhere on your head. This is something I haven’t saw being done on any of the videos I reviewed for the RPHA91 + Cardo Edge.
      I will however look for a 3d print model for the RPHA91 + Cardo Edge, as it might provide an ever more secure mounting, and, possibly, making it not protrude a little less from the helmet.

    I’ve made myself an adapter for the Packtalk Bold by using a small aluminum plate that I’ve shaped and used double sticky tape. Basically it does the same job, the intercom is there for about one year and it stays strong. I would buy one of those though if it would be compatible to Packtalk Bold.

    THAT is a BS, jinky-a$$ solution. Packtalk owners - you can get the same effect by just using the clip mount that comes with the Packtalk Edge. No need to buy something else when the original clip works just fine after you remove the COMMs cover. Now if CARDO actually put some effort into something that slips more nicely into that COMMs area, this conversation would be different.
