Interesting design. It's sad that you need to have their latest intercom devices in order to use it. I would like to se something similar for older models as well. The intercom now sticks out much more. It spoils the way helmet looks like and I wonder if it will generate more drag and noise. But I like to have an integrated solution. I hope soon Shoei will offer proper Cardo integration in their helmets they do with Sena.
You can get really well made ones at TubsJackson, they snap into the SENA integration and are rock solid at high speed. Much sleeker and better placement than the 3M ones
@@CosmoMeynell Considering it's a piece of plastic one expect it to be reasonably cheap. Cardo adapter costs €21 (which is double what it probably should cost). I have checked TubsJackson site and they charge whole €50 for the mount for my helmet! For €50 I can totally cope with a 3M tape that I need to replace once 2-3 years.
@@CosmoMeynell True. Good thing with TubsJackson is that you can move it over to next helmet (if you have same model) and it seems that cardo not go beyond the edge of the helmet so you can put it down on the table/floor and not be afraid to scratch or damage the device. GTAir2 with print was £490. GtAir3 with print is now whole £640. Every saved £ counts. I will probably try some 3D printed designs from the internet. Otherwise I might actually give TubsJackson product a go. Thank you for the tip!
Shame Cardo havent made an adaptor for the Bold. Theres a vid on RUclips on getting a 3D printed adaptors for the Bold and Edge that fits into the location. Ive just ordered one for my Bold to fit to my Neotec2
I just used my Shoei Neotec 2 with the Sena SRL installed. My wife called me, the speaker sound was so distorted that I had to have her repeat what she said. I am going to get another Cardo. I had the bold on my old helmet. It's much better sound and better on voice commands.
it would be great if you guys could do a cardo post on how to adjust the tone and bass of the cardo.mine seems to be way to tony and drives me and my friend mad.
I have the exact same adapter. Accept I have a neotech 3 and it won't work. I ended Up putting an extra layer of sticky tape and mounting my edge as far forward as possible and it's working great! After seeing how far it sticks out, I'm probably going to stick with what I've got. even if they come out with a neotech 3 adapter
Great idea.its very low down near your shoulder.when you put the helmet down does it sit on the unit? I think there is an aftermarket version that is 3d printed.
I saw another RUclips video where someone in UK found a CAD drawing for a clip and then had a local 3D print shop print it. I did the same in the US and problem solved. Clips into my Shoei Neotec II instead of the adhesive option
Might be controversial but Have to say I’ve got a GT Air2 with the Sena system and really couldn’t be happier, looks neat, great sound and good communication, was really unsure beforehand as wanted a Cardo unit…was changing my old interphone sport which was crap, 20 squids seems and awful lot of dosh for a piece of plastic?
Having had both Sena and now Cardo, have to say Sena are not even close to Cardo, for sound, quality and userbillity. Nolonger have my Shoei Neotec II, but if I did, I’d be junking Sena for Cardo. Cardo need to now start looking at slimming the device down, and making it look more integrated to he helmet. If I can give Sena any credit, they do a good job of integration, but the electronics, user interface and even the product actually doing what it says on the box, they fall short every time.
Hello, how about Cardo edge on the new neotec 3? I’m loooking to buy an new helmet but also new to the intercome world and I saw that one of the best it’s Cardo edge… but looks like the new Neotec 3 comes ready for Sena…
Magellan have two tours to Norway this year. I will be guiding the first which starts on 3/8/2024. We leave from Harwich by ferry over to the Netherlands then up through Germany, Denmark, Norway to the Arctic Circle north of Mo I Rana then in to Sweden and back down through to Gothenburg another ferry to Denmark, Germany, Netherlands and ferry home. It’s an awesome trip and if you mention RiderCamTV there may be a discount. Come on it’s a trip you will love.

Shoei neotec 2 , great helmet Sena intercom crap. Mine died and 24 hrs later my wife's unit died after being in a good old Ozzie storm , the side switch unit filled with water. Not happy, Sena don't care no parts available, but I have found an electronics guy that repaired both and they work better than originally. Sena just wanted new units sold at $599 AUD each, repair bill $120

We find cardo great too. Don’t forget there is a discount at cardosystems.com with code ridercamtv :)
I might 3D print an adapter for my Shoei GT-Air 3, because I don't think Sena is going to be the way forward.

TubsJackson do this - for all types too

awesome, thanks buddy
I recently ordered one for the Bold after seeing this. Fingers crossed.
Followed the instructions in the video and ordered one last year. Really pleased with it. Solid and fits the Edge perfectly.
I think shoei patented the plastic clip cover, that is why cardo resorted to a stick on adapter.
That could explain it
wow, thank god for fast forward. damn thing is about foot off the helmet. Ill stick to the sticky and the Bold.
Did everything meticulously and sticky tape failed in a few days on cross country ride.
You can 3d print a far better adapter that ths pos that cardo sells for 20 pounds.
I use the standard clip that comes with the Cardo device ON MY Neotech II... no issues.🤔
Was it the mechanical mount or the stick on mount? Will the mechanical mount fit between the shell and liner?
