I'm a Cardinals season ticket holder and I was there. I had to take a whizz so bad and couldn't wait any longer so I hauled ass to the can and while I was doing my business I hear the crowd roar so I missed everything but the celebration. And the Cardinals were total shit so missing out on the few bright spots was a big deal.
The Patrick Peterson one is beautiful, and it was fitting how it ended the game in OT. Remember watching that one in the basement on RedZone, as it was the last game to end of the day (apart from the SNF game) and being stunned by the slow spin. One of my favorite plays of all time from a player not on my favorite team.
Pat Pete's return is an amazing play and I love it, but my favorite play not from my fav team (go Giants) has to be Steve Gleason's blocked punt. It may not have been flashy but the mark it left on those unfortunate NO residents will never be forgotten. EVER!
The 2 most exciting plays in the NFL: long punt returns and long kickoff returns. And to think the NFL wanted to get rid of kickoffs, at least that's what I heard.
I am a Steelers fan and a reformed Saints antagonist. I was a pretty epic troller of the Sainrs when I posted this comment. I gave it up and focus on rooting for my team.
@@rogermartin8009 I am from New Orleans and loathe the team, particularly Drew Brees, who played his whole career like the Chargers trade was yesterday. While all fanbases have their toxicity, Saints fans were particularly bad because New Orleans was built around celebrations and tourism. So it felt like all of NOLA took an L when the Saints did. And I find that ridiculous. Update to @rico mcgee: I'm engaged to a girl from Atlanta.
Mannnn Dante Hall had a couple seasons where people were comparing his return skills to Deion Sanders. Hester made us quickly forget about him though lmao
Not really as Hester did not have the type of returns that Dante Hall had, as Hall had many like the Denver one in this video where he shouldn't have even gotten 5 yards let alone a TD, but he miraculously made it happen. Hall and other Chiefs returners have also taken kickoff returns end zone to end zone just like Hester.......
@@MrGNugget The rule doesn't forbid the player from catching the punt in the endzone and running it out. So technically it's not unbreakable, but it will be a while before someone does break it.
8:19 Talk about a miracle play, Bailey was on point with that ball bounce, picked it up, hauled ass, runs a 103 yard punt return from endzone to endzone to score (first to ever do it and sets an NFLrecord), and the saints were just full of question marks. You just gotta respect that one. What are the odds of that ever happening again?
I love your videos! It's great to see someone who uses plays from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Also, if you don't mind me asking, where do you find these clips at?
I agree with Vasiliy: at 4:35, Washington’s Banks is VERY close to dropping the ball before it has actually crossed the vertical plane above the goal line. I wonder if this was before the NFL instituted automatic review of all TD plays. That sort of careless showboating turns a great return into a bonehead play.
3:41 Wow. Leave it to the Lions to mess up downing a punt inside the 10. Edit: Okay, I get it now. This happened in 1994, when a punt had to be downed by the kicking team if it was in the end zone. Everyone assumed it would roll past the end line for a touchback, but it took a Ram bounce to stay in bounds and Bailey capitalized. The rule changed in 2004 where a punt was automatically a touchback if it crossed the goal line, hence these acrobatics by the coverage team to keep it out of the end zone without going in themselves. So until this rule is changed back, that 103 yard punt return TD will stand as the NFL record.
I just came here to comment that. Pause at 4:35 and watch frame by frame (using . and , if you are on a keyboard). He clearly lost control of the ball before getting in.
It was a shame it wasn't reviewed. He's just going to be another dude who returned a punt for TD, but if it was overturned he would be immortalized as an idiot.
I almsot gave you a "C'mon Man' for no Devin Hester... but I looked up his stats and see he's had a few 89 yarders so I can see why he was excluded. His 90+ yarders were all kickoff returns
The Rams return was bullshit. BOTH teams had their regular squad run onto the field during the return, meaning there should have been offsetting Too Many Men penalties, which would mean it would have to be re-kicked. I never understood how they just ignored that.
@@Tyspeed0528 Bro are you serious? This is a professional football game with thousands of fans. How can the coaches not see the play? They literally got tv screens playing all over the sides for replays
5:15 What about #57 for the packers, he almost tackles his own returner to start with then proceeds to run along side him by the sideline where there is no possibility of him throwing a useful block but there is a possibility of him accidently tackling him again. Their feet almost get tangled up and he could have easily tripped him.
Gotta feel for the punters on most of these. They’re putting it inside the 10 or even 5yd line ( a great punt! ) and then he ends up being the last guy to get blown up or laid out as it’s returned for a TD. Ouch.
I know this video is a year old, but the punt at 7:29 should have been a touchback. Any punt that touches the ground in the end zone is automatically ruled a touchback and a dead ball. The play should have been over with no return. However, I might be mistaken as the clip is probably from before I was born and the rule might have been different at the time.
The Redskins return at 4:34, did he let go of the ball before he crossed into the touchdown? From a couple of times rewatching and pausing, it looks VERY close to me.
at 6:12, the announcers keep talking about a fair catch, and how there wasn't one, but that's a non sequitur. Once the ball hits the ground, as this punt did, the fair catch is cancelled.
no bullshit music, no annoying templates. straight clips with original commentators. thanks for these bro
TheExzakt facts
These are the kinda videos you look for when you only have 30 minutes lunch breaks. Lmao
Yes. Good review, but the music tended to make him hard to hear.
I'm glad they didn't keep replaying the same hit over and over again. That gets annoying too.
EXACTLY, as much as the music can add a nice touch (if it's not way to loud) i'd MUCH rather listen to the commentary than music
8:19 I love the way Bailey looks around for a second to make sure he's really seeing this. Brilliant play, and shame² on NO.
Patrick peterson's punt return was sick wicked and nasty.
Silky Johnson and he won the game with that play

Sam Rosen does a great job at announcing the play, too. Captures all the emotion of the moment.
Dennis Yah, I seen that one on redzone too. It was awesome. I like Patrick Peterson. Go fins!

I can't believe I lived through a decade of replays with dipping-doo music in the background.
Dante Hall arguably had the most spectacular 8-10 game stretch in NFl history
The 2 most exciting plays in the NFL: long punt returns and long kickoff returns. And to think the NFL wanted to get rid of kickoffs, at least that's what I heard.
That return by Bailey is quite possibly the greatest thing I've ever seen in Football. XD
I love heads-up plays like that, but I also like Robert Bailey because he leveled Chris Samuels on the opening kickoff in the 1991 Cotton Bowl
Haha hell yea what a bounce. Go rams
That Rams v. Saints one made me feel good. Nothing like watching the Saints fail to liven up my mood.

Cool man!!
The crack back blocks got me lol
best crowd reaction has got to be that Dante Hall one in Kansas City or maybe that bears one towards the end
Yeaaaaa I said the same thing they were going crazyyyy

At 4:45 at the end of that run, that celebration was a savage diss to Cleveland and the Cavs
And the fact that got away with holding and they still lost the game.
If you look at the one with Banks on the redskins he let the ball go before he got in the touchdown
Yes that's what I said on here and found your comment!
Yeah just like Jackson did
Let me preface this by saying I'm only 41 but, Leonard Marshall is RUNNING THE RIGHT WAY!
Jim Marshall?
That Patrick Peterson return was 🔥🔥
That play at 7:50 is amazing. Never saw anything like it before.

Was that Jim Lampley on the Pickens return? I don't remember him doing NFL broadcasts.
Did it for a few years in the early 90s
I was about to say the same thing! XD I THOUGHT I recognized that unmistakable voice...
Dante Hall was the best. Now we have Hill !!! Love it.

Mike Kralj I was wondering if Hester would show up in this video, and then I saw this comment.
He still should have been on here regaurdless.
He had the same amount of returns we saw in this video in one year
I was thinking the same thing
At 4:30 he dropped the ball before getting into the end zone check for yourself
I love how the announcers say touchdown before the returner gets the touchdown
The longest return i remember is cowboys almost in the edge of the field
And was made with only 10 men in the field
Dante Hall had the best one against Denver. KC started 9-0 that year
3 blocks in the back
We gotta give a hand to the kickers just for kicking it this far
Make a punters/kickers stop return TD's
Occasionally they do 😉
