    Been on every class except the spirit class. By far my favorite class is the Vista and Dream class (virtually the same except for Vista having some changes to decks 3,4,5 and Imax). Beautiful ships. I love the modern feel and all the activities of the vista class but I really like the traditional high rise atrium so Dream class wins that. My parents met on the Ecstasy and I was on her final voyage. For an old ship she was Beautiful and probably my favorite ship.

      I’m going on the carnival magic next year. It looks newer than the conquest which I went on this year and it kinda felt old. It’s great to see you like dream class!

    We just got off the Liberty in the conquest class and you would never know it’s a smaller ship. Tons of variety in food and no shortage of things to do. The cruise director is AMAZING. We go in Mardi Gras as a family of 5 in sept

    I took a cruise on the Carnival Elation quite recently, I found it quite cozy compared to the Liberty. At first I didn't like the layout, with the Atrium being in the Center of the ship, and there only being one pool. The boat looked old from the outside, but the Inside is completely redone. I actually like sailing on one of Carnival's oldest cruise ships. For anyone Interested in a fun and old Cruise, I would recommend this one. Too bad they're phasing out the Fantasy class.

    We were on the Splendor and LOVED it. The Lido area reminded me of the French Quarter. The Conquest class has that wonderful tiered seating are on the Lido deck. When I started cruising in 1993 the Fantasy class were the largest ships cruising. We will be on the Mardi Gras in July this year. I hope we can do it all on board.

    My late wife and I used to love the Triumph class ships. Carnival did away with them. Liked the Vista class. Dream class not as much, but, they are nice. Haven't been on an Excel class ship as yet. The Guy Fierie Restaurants are nice. Didn't like the Sunshine class ships. The first cruise ship my wife and I went on was the Carnival Triumph. Took more cruises on the Triumph than any other ship. We went on the Carnival Dream in it's inaugural season. Went on the Carnival Splendor. It is a nice ship. That was a nice trip. Sailed on the Carnival Glory. Took it to New England/Canada. Went on a tour of Fenway Park on that trip. Had a nice short trip on the Carnival Legend. Would like to go on a Fantasy class ship.

    Having been on an Excel ship and a Vista, it’s important to note (for those who like visiting the thermal suites) that the thermal suites on the Mardi Gras and Celebration are 1) located much lower on the ship, with no windows and 2) are much smaller.
    It’s also been said by many that the bathrooms are notably smaller on those Excel ships 🤷‍♀️

    • @andrewleeadkins93
      @andrewleeadkins93 Год назад

      While I love the Excel class yes the spa and thermal suites were total misses in this class. And yes the bathrooms and cabins in general are smaller. Only 2 ft thinner which you don’t think is a major thing. But it is.

    You might have done this already I don't know. But, could you please create a video with all the activities from each ship and class. When I say activities, I am not talking all of the restaurants. I am just referring to those activities you can do on the ship such as exercise room with weights, or a basketball court ect... Then create a list from that ship of those activities that are extra. That would be a HUGE help to me.
    I am getting ready to take my first cruise and have so many questions. Year ago activities were free. And while many bloggers post those activities that are on the ship they fail to mention those that are extra. For example: I was so excited to see that there was a coaster "Bolt" on a ship. I thought that would be fun. Just to turn around and see that it's an additional charge.
    I remember when everything on the ship was included in free with the exception of some upscale restaurants. Finding out that Bolt is $15 additional dollars was upsetting. I would have loved to ride on that thing 6-7-8 times. Now I am limited to the number of times. For me it's like saying you only have a particular amount of time to swim in the pool.
    One of the biggest things I used to hear from people going on cruises is all the free activities they have on board. Now it seems they are cherry picking certain activities now. The ship that has the go carts would be fun too but they charge extra for that as well. Cruising isn't cheap at all. The excursions are an extra cost as well as gratuities rather you get good or bad service. I feel like they will be charging extra to get into the pool or limit the time you can go in. It would also be nice if you could just pay one price if it's going to be extra. For example: $50 dollars extra to ride all I want to. This is money grabbing to me.
    Thanks. It will just nee help knowing all of the other extra activities charges I may not know.

      Understand that cruise lines sell you the cabin (and included amenities) at break-even or at a loss. The only way they make any money is by you spending on the ship. Additionally, attractions like the roller coaster and go karts can only process a very limited amount of guests per hour, so if they were free, there would be very long lines, just like in a real amusement park. In any case, the market has spoken - Carnival could include everything, but your fare would be doubled. Instead, people prefer the reduced rates upfront and "pay as you go" on the ship. This concept is known as a "fresh wallet"

    • @andrewleeadkins93
      @andrewleeadkins93 Год назад +1

      Alaska ports can not handle the large scale ships due to the fact most of them are just small fishing villages. I was surprised the Splendor honestly made it there but that’s why ships like the Spirit class are used. Theoretically the Conquest class ships could make it to, but since the Spirit class has the enclosed decks it makes it easier for the shoulder season in Alaska to enjoy

    Have only ever been on the Carnival Splendor. Interesting that it is a unique ship. The decor on the ship is hideous. It's like the designers were all 12 yo's on acid. From what I can see from this run-through except for the really old ships the decor is much more subdued and tasteful on all the other ships. The Splendor is permanently based out of Sydney Australia. I guess that way most of the rest of the world don't get to see it.
