  • The easy way to recharge your AC system in your 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner. This process works for all SR5, Off road and Pro 5th Gens. If you 4Runner is not blowing cold air or takes a while to cool down then this video is for you. Enjoy!
Buy AC Pro on Amazon: amzn.to/3fQO2Eb
    Mavic 2 Pro Drone I use: amzn.to/2YeTDzd
Please remember to check the gauge frequently when filling. Overfilling the system is just as bad as not having enough refrigerant, if not worse. Be sure to let off the AC Pro trigger when reading the gauge.

Thank you for posting the video.. i was fixing to wait all day and pay up the rear for a small charge.. This is common with 4runners. I have 2 4runners. 5th gen. Limmited and Trd. BOTH have experienced a decrease in Ac. But the. Again both are almost 5 years old. And we used the ac in texas and Florida.

Before you charge, check the *Cabin Air Filter* located behind the panel in the back of the glove-box. My AC was blowing 36 - 44 F (reading taken 1" inside of the vent) but the interior wasn't getting very cold. Although I change the Cabin Air Filter every 100K miles just like my underpants, it was clogged and the filter was too. New filter and all was good, no charge required.

Since you made this video 4 years ago, have you had to refill the system again? Were you able to figure out if it has a small leak or was never filled properly by the factory?

Pressure stayed at zero despite filling. I guess there is a leak?

Did you had to recharge it since? I just recharged mine (2017 sr5) based off your video and wondering how long should it last.

Does your ac clutch cycle on and off every few mins or should it always be running ?

I couldn’t get a great seal on the valve. It wouldn’t click. I just pushed it on until it didn’t come off. Once I started it, it started spewing, but the ac is cold now.

You may have bought a defective unit, but glad it worked in the end!

Did this solve the issue that you were having? I think mine is having the issue too. It cools eventually but has to stay on high which i don't remember having to do before. its a 2019 with 80k miles though, in Houston, so AC gets used a lot.

It helped a noticable bit, but it still takes 5 to 10 minutes to hit it's stride and cool down. The 5th gens AC sucks from the factory compared to other cars and Suvs

You have to be careful with those "instant" bottles because they dont always come with lubricant!

I doubt thats a TRD the fronts too low btw you need to be really accurate with the high and low pressure if you go over the limit +/-50grams your guaranteed to blow up your AC

    • @BtwilliasGarage

Check my channel to see it's a TRD. Appreciate it

It's a TRD Pro. I have four of them and can tell when someone try's to make a 4Runner look like a TRD Pro. If I had to guess, this one is maybe a 2016?

I really hate to hear that. I know mine can be picky from time to time on whee I have the "head, foot, defrost" etc set to. You should make sure that is not stuck in-between two settings on the left knob

It’s your Ac blower motor, typical with these

I had the same issue. I replaced my blower motor. Was easy to do. I watched videos on RUclips on how to do it. Bought my blower motor from Auto Zone and replaced it myself in about 25 minutes. The motor was $140. All you need is an 8mm for 3 screws and that’s it. Fixed the issue completely and now my air is blowing full strong blast like new.

Good question. My wife was complaining about it not being cold. Factory may have not filled it properly.
