I also appreciate how they made the ladder paint dilapidated and worn so it's not ripping you out of the environment. That way the immersion isn't broken, but the guidelines are still there.
What's best is that the map is sprinkled with "journalist stashes" that contain OP guns and armor. Too bad the gaming journalists probably won't ever find them

I actually didn't even notice this. It's so worn it fits with the environment really well. It's pretty understandable to paint old things with whatever paint you have on hand in rural area's. The zone is in some ways comparable to some towns I've lived in where you use what you have on hand because you have no money.
I really don't understand why so many games do this now. When people see ladders, stairs, ledges, they NATURALLY want to try and climb or jump over it, so why is it highlighted? I couldn't believe the amount of yellow paint and tarps used in XDefiant to show what you can and can't jump or crouch under. It felt like they thought I was that dumb
i think you overestimate the intelligence of most consumers. i think you also forget that "the rules of the game world" aren't always consistent in real life and sometimes you might not even consider the game would let you do that, if it wasn't highlighted. i used to be like you, i get it. but, then i met a guy who pays for COD wallhacks in real life. Its to make the ladder stand out of the enviroment and mark items where you can interact from ones that are just set dressing and cant be used. Better made games just have all ladders and such stuff interactable and use lighting or contrasting enviroments to make the important things stand out

You’re right on the metrics side of things. Tell monkey to do action with X variable. But my point is more if you’re actually a clever developer than you are not going to slop paint on the forward button and call it a day.
It never really bothered me that stuff is highlighted but I'm glad they included that. To be fair though I've climbed on the most narrow and slanted roofs that look impossible to be on, but can't climb up a slightly slanted wooden log on the floor so the paint does help in some areas

I turned this off before I even started the game. Glad I did. I thought it was just for items on the ground. I wanted to recognize them by sight, not by relying on a glowing outline
I was surprised how many streamers can't see anything even with yellow paint ON. lots of ppl complain about this, but we have living proof that it is a needed feature. respect for the devs for adding option to turn it off tho
You could have a giant neon sign pointing at where to go and streamers have a chance to miss it. It's just the result of them needing to divide time between the game and interacting with their audience to entertain them. Guess which one's more important for their job.

Reminds me of rage2 with "pink paint" almost everything interactible has some pink on it. Personally, to me at least; the color doesn't matter as long as it's bright enough to see (the color i mean).
Although it is beautiful, it is also risky. The possibility of constantly bumping to everything for interract and the need to constantly press 'E' may arise.
If they were worried about immersion they would stop making certain weapons have left side charging handles and ejection ports that had them to the right irl.
They need to add a toggle hud option… would love to turn it off half the time but not at the cost of going in and out of the menus and options (Yes a mod exists but it’s known to cause issues for the game so it’s not worth it really) relying on mods for simple quality of life features isn’t the greatest either since it’s an early game and is prone to have lots of patches and updates basically breaking mods each time

I'm fine with the ladder having chipped yellow paint, it fits with the environment while showing us that we can interact with it, and you can argue that there's a good in game reason to be painted. But the yellow paint on the safe looks dumb.
if i may be of some advice on that matter : -try changing weapons on a somewhat regular basis as to use different calibers of ammo, it will help you accumulating different kinds of bullets while using them in turn. -not every fight is worth doing, you could try to avoid some as much as you can, or try to lure them into anomaly. -dont forget to unload the guns of those you defeat and grab any bullet of any calibers you find, just stock them in your stash regularly 😉
Save weapons from enemies and sell them but only if they aren't completely broken. So far I've yet to find vendor who buys broken weapons and repairing them to sell isn't worth it. I haven't had ammo problems as every time I return to town I'm selling, resupplying and stashing extra ammo.
If you have plenty of reserve ammo in your backpack then you're not playing stalker. Running away is always recommended for early game unless you have to engage

yeah but couldn't add things that really made the immersion like scopes that arn't just tubes you look through while zooming in the screen, naming your saves so you don't have to guess, a character anywhere that doesn't look like a Pedo or that guy in our friend group that always smells of B.O., Mutants that can die without wasting all of your ammo, making healing an actual mechanic instead of cyperpunk heal spamming, having an a life system that doesn't just spawn in guys in front of you, making it so you actually want to repair your guns instead of investing the last 5 hours of our life to do so, being able to vault over higher than 2 foot objects, but the most immersion breaking things is they TOOK AWAY THE FAKE RUSSIAN ACCENTS AND EVERYONE IS EITHER BRITISH OR FROM THE SOUTH UNITED STATES. That one hurt the most. Anyway I still enjoy it but its a big bummer.
I like a game that respects my intelligence, and allows me to make mistakes.

It makes sense, the paint breaks and oxication begins which causes rust with the metal, the last scraps of paint are still there. its realistic

literally just change the png in the texture files. open it in paint, apply a hue/saturation transform, and replace the file. two minute fix.

yeah but couldn't add things that really made the immersion like scopes that arn't just tubes you look through while zooming in the screen, naming your saves so you don't have to guess, a character anywhere that doesn't look like a Pedo or that guy in our friend group that always smells of B.O., Mutants that can die without wasting all of your ammo, making healing an actual mechanic instead of cyperpunk heal spamming, having an a life system that doesn't just spawn in guys in front of you, making it so you actually want to repair your guns instead of investing the last 5 hours of our life to do so, being able to vault over higher than 2 foot objects, but the most immersion breaking things is they TOOK AWAY THE FAKE RUSSIAN ACCENTS AND EVERYONE IS EITHER BRITISH OR FROM THE SOUTH UNITED STATES. That one hurt the most. Anyway I still enjoy it but its a big bummer.
this game literally doesnt have optimization. The graphics are trash but my FPS is very low in RTX 3050
