I’d turn the engine off when you bring the wheels up. If you lean on the gear lever or the boat rocks and you knock it with your hand down there it could end badly.
Hi, yes you are right to think of safety first. The release catch for the wheels is a good distance away from the prop, so my hand is not actually that close as it may seem. It's a small risk, but better safe than sorry.
@@inflatableanglingI cutting them down with a grinder but make sure cover all inside the boat just in case some sparks from the grinder burn your boat.
I'd recommend these one though as they are better than the Ceredi ones I have: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335129636644?var=544362560020&gad_source=1&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338723872&toolid=20006&customid=SpVpUpMgAAAA93pRQnx2BJf43AVBAAAAAA
Nice video pal , can I ask what make wheels your using as they don't seem to interfere with the bottom of the boat and the Honda ones are £200 😳😳 Thanks 😊

One of the main reasons I launch Bow first is for me it is easier when it is rougher and the waves were bigger. It also means you don't need to do a 180 turn in the shallows, you can just jump in and move forward. Thanks for your comment!
What clothing do you wear on the boat? Waders, drysuit etc? I’ve seen so many debates in forums in terms of safety of waders and drysuit being too sweaty that I’m stuck what to buy. I’ll be beach launching, not sure if you always beach launch or use a slipway but just trying to figure out what works for ppl?
Hi, great question! I wear thigh high waders to do the launch and landing. Once I'm on board I roll them down or take them off entirely. I dont usually go out in the depths of winter as it's just too cold for me, so I don't personally use a dry suit. I go for several layers on my upper body so that I can take some off if it is getting too warm. On my legs I wear splash proof hiking trousers from Revolution Race. They are very comfy and breathable but also very tough. In summer I always have a sun hat and plenty of suncream! Obviously I always wear a life jacket or pfd. 👍
@@inflatableangling Great 👍🏻 thanks for that, I was looking at chest and waist waders, and still deciding atm, drysuit just looks a bit of a faff imo but seems popular among sibbers.
There is a lot of conflicting info and opinions out there regarding chest waders. I'd stay on the safe side and not wear chest waders on a sib. The RNLI advises against wearing chest waders on a boat due to the risk they pose if you fall into the water. When filled with water, chest waders can become heavy and increase the risk of drowning by hindering movement and causing drag.
@@inflatableangling yeah I’m looking at waist waders tbh, it’s a happy medium for me, also chest waders maybe a bit restrictive in the sib, waist waders seem better for me, I did look at thigh waders.

nice vid, but couldn't help notice the bolts sticking through the transom hahah, please cut them down and stick rubber caps on them :)

Why don't you push it into the water backwards, with wheels going forward?

Launch the boat rear-first and you won't need to go knee-high in the water, just use wellies.
