Aquaman is one of my favorite comic book films it does a great job of showing us lots of different locations and giving us lots of information and world building without feeling overwhelming.
Fun fact: New lego sets got leaked for spiderman no way home which shows you a look at the new spider suit and a bunch of other stuff that might be in the film
Fun fact: That "we should save Black Manta" thing is actually true to this film's production. James Wan and test audiences felt Black Manta was cool, but not mattering to the plot enough. When they wanted to cut him from the film to refocus the plot, Geoff Johns (DC Films head at the time) basically went "Keep Black Manta or you're fired. He was in my comics, so he's gonna be in the movie". Geoff Johns was kind of a d-bag. Shame because he really was a brilliant comic writer (I say was because even that's gone downhill recently).
Some random thoughts: I loved this movie BECAUSE of the flaws; I'm not even going to pretend that I loved it in-spite of the flaws. I wouldn't have been nearly as much fun without the flaws. "And she eats his pet goldfish, so instantly he's like, 'Oh, let's make a baby.'" "Eating people's pets IS super romantic." Atlanna is - by definition - as attractive as Nicole Kidman. If I'm Thomas, I'd be perfectly happy to make that trade, so long as the pet in-question was the goldfish, and not the dog. The movie literally featured sharks with laser beams on their freaking heads AND NOT ONE AUSTIN POWERS REFERENCE?!?
aquaman in this movie is like batman that does not follow his code of not killing, aquaman just send millions of sea creatures to die head on in the war, that is not a king that is dictatorship, he is controlling the creatures to kill themselves in the war, i saw a lot of endangered species like types of dolphins, sharks, fishes, and more that died in that war, and the heck with that gigantic kaiju monster, that thing just opened a gigantic hole in the sea floor, that can cause huge tsunamis and earthquakes and even volcanic eruptions. if you think of the logic, aquaman is the scariest murderer in that movie

The first time I saw a version of Aquaman was in Smallville the TV show, and he was portrayed pretty badass, he even out dueled Clark Kent under water!
With the orange muscle shirt and green swimming trunks. Decent version of the character. When he was dehydrated he grew weaker. I don't recall that coming up in the movie AQUAMAN, not even while in the Sahara.

As a diehard Ryan George fan, seeing the modified pitch meeting thumbnail always makes me think " A NEW PITCH MEETING!? YEAH!" Because I've memorized all the other thumbnails
I hated aquaman. I only watched it 1 time, but from what i remember aquaman is told he needs to find the trident to challenge his brother to a fight, but he skips all that challenges his brother to a fight without the trident. And he looses the fight. Then they fuss at him for it.... so lets quest for the trident. Now since they made a big deal about the trident, i thought that would play a role in some way.... but no, he got no additional powers, no new fighting skills... he still had to fight his brother. This time he won because they fought above water not below it. I also really really hated the lasers on the sharks. It would have been 1000% better if aquaman would just control normal sharks! Like have the sharks bite off a few random peoples arms/legs... go down the same path as jaws and lets make little kids scared of the ocean.
The movie is almost overwhelmingly busy but they make it work. The visuals are stunning and Jason Momoa gave so much life to lifeless Aquaman he can now hold his own and, to some of us, outshine the others. I think the inconsistent power problem was due to script being filled to the brim and them needing the movie to succeed. You didn't need to worry about that for a lot of women. Bring lava eyes in and females will be in the seats. Pitch Meeting gets it again, but Honest Trailers gets an honorable mention the jumping the sharks lines and pointing out those horrid wigs. People, people I know you poured millions into this movie's action, CGI, locations, costumes,etc.; but you could have squeezed the budget a bit more for better hair. Especially since they have such long noticeable hair.
Yeah, the hair was inexcusable, LOL!!! Also, Black Manta had Atlantean steel, so that's why he was able to cut and stab Arthur. Still funny how Honest Trailer made a joke about it, but it was explained.
It's the most fun you'll have watching a DC movie. At least it was for me. It's like if Avatar, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Tron: Legacy had a baby. This is what we would get.
Pitch Meeting takes it, though I thought the Honest Trailer was pretty solid this time. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed Aquaman, and I'm bummed that the Trench spinoff movie got cancelled.
I don't know why no one talks about how bad the CGi, costume design and wigs are in Aquaman(mostly CGi). The movie's alright though but my biggest problem with it is one of my least favourite things any movie does which is those impossible water shots where it looks like there is glass in between the camera and the water
