I don’t know.), Amethysts (purple) would increase… uh… I actually don’t remember that one. Anyway, you get my point. It seems to kind of make sense in games/comic book movies’ universe but when you read it out loud like Ryan does here, it does sound baseless and ridiculous. 😂

I don't recall if the "Ice Bathammer" actually had little "things" you can shoot from it, but I remember it looked cool and was way too expensive for us! And yes, nerd characters turning evil is a DC trope... not a lot of that at Marvel... in fact there are just as many nerd heros as villains there. Or perhaps more nerd heros. Poison Ivy’s and Mr. Freeze’s goals aren’t actually mutually exclusive if you think about it. Assuming that a planet has only 1 big source of energy like our sun (as opposed to 2), then there will inevitably be warmer climates near the equator and colder climates near the poles. So if they both understand that they just have to find the point at which the plants and the ice would meet on both hemispheres and each take care of their portion of the planet.
Telling you now. The Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises honest trailers do have the old Honest trailer voice that you said you arent fond of But Batman Begins has the new voice cause they made that one 4 years later

It's so funny and sad that Clooney apologized for Batman & Robin and the interviewer let him know that he had almost the LEAST amount of screen time DESPITE the movie being called BATMAN & Robin!
I think DC has figured out that they're not going to recreate the MCU and are now more willing to let individual features work on their own terms, even if they're supposedly in the same universe. They're also MUCH better at TV (although the last few MCU series have a bit to say about that...Daredevil and The Punisher also started off great). SO the Nolan Batmans are separate from Shazam and the Phillips Joker, and DC is starting to figure out "oh, let's just let talented people tell the stories the way they want to." And good for them -- who in Hollywood really has the brass tacks to tell James frickin' Gunn he doesn't get to do whatever he wants with a band of misfits? Ironically, I think Marvel has seen this and said "wait, we should do that, too." I think a BIG part of this whole multiverse set-up is in service to the idea that creators can basically do whatever they want without having to necessarily tie it in to the over-arching franchise. Sure, there will be plenty of Easter eggs, but if, say, Mike Flanagan wants to tell a Throg story, there will be room for it without it impacting the rest of the MCU. I'm sure the multiverse will still tie in to larger plots, but hot damn, have y'all seen the What If? trailer? They are definitely going in a direction that allows for more individualized storytelling.
I agree with you there!! They want it in every single thing that's created now. Which is just so weird. I still think it had a weak story and the editing is weird in a couple of spots to make the action seem more hectic. I had fun with the movie, but it has a lot of problems.

There are some fan edits where they remove the cape, maybe change the bird color to blue, and it really could be a Schumaker Nightwing. Batman and Robin have bulges, and I can swear Batgirl has camel toe.

This movie was stain in the history of Batman. Honestly, I just feel like they ended up putting too many characters in the movie and didn't know what to do with all of them. They gave them silly lines and dialogues maybe in the hope to make them relevant to the plot but failed miserably. It looked like they never read the comics before and failed to understand the characters (but, judging by the fact they took the tragic storyline of Mr.Freeze and his wife, they probably just took some elements of Batman The Animated Series, a cartoon that also featured Mr.Freeze, Poison Ivy and Bane as important villains. Before the animated series, Mr.Freeze and Poison Ivy were mostly forgotten villains in DC comics that almost nobody ever remembered to ever exist). Also, about you saying that "the villain is a nerd who then becomes evil", the trend was used again in Iron Man 3 with Aldrich Killian and in Wonder Woman 2 with Cheetah. Like your reactions!

I like a many of the designs in this movie, even the Batsuit... and the likes end there. Actually, some of the designs are still are favorites. I agree, why the lingering butt and moob shots? This movie is the definition of a hot mess. I know they wanted to lighten up with Batman; but there's a big difference be being less weighty and being pure helium level light. An updated homage to the '60s camp? That's the only thing I can think of because it's deliberate. Not everyone can do camp, not every character works well with it. Batman was campy in a small sixties series, there wasn't a lot going on with live action comics, so it's remembered fondly by people who never saw it. There are clips and some episodes here; it's a challenge to see it's appeal. Since it was the sixties, maybe it was the subtext, what someone indulged in before watching each week or TV programs were so boring and bad people were starved for something different. For most Batman is a dark, sometimes brooding, serious figure; which doesn't preclude humor or the emotional range of a normal human. Now that's he's one of the top (possibly The Top) beloved comic figures, dragging him back into a silly style comparable to the off beat series will never go over well. Robin was a whinny over aged brat boy and Batgirl was boring and annoying. She was miscast IMO. I wonder if the over accentuation on the two was an attempt to garner teens and tweens for a spin off TV or movies series. It would make sense to launch them in a move lighter than a feather. Parents would only have worry about their children losing brain cells watching those two whine their way through a film. It's a close call between the PM and HT this time, Pitch Meeting barely edges ahead though.
What happened to Alicia Silverstone?...Dear Lord above, was she a smoke-show, even if this movie is a dumpster fire (see what I did there! It's the OPPOSITE of an ice pun!) Edit: The most iconic Batmobile is from the Animated Series, and we all know that to be true.

This movie was stain in the history of Batman. Honestly, I just feel like they ended up putting too many characters in the movie and didn't know what to do with all of them. They gave them silly lines and dialogues maybe in the hope to make them relevant to the plot but failed miserably. It looked like they never read the comics before and failed to understand the characters (but, judging by the fact they took the tragic storyline of Mr.Freeze and his wife, they probably just took some elements of Batman The Animated Series, a cartoon that also featured Mr.Freeze, Poison Ivy and Bane as important villains. Before the animated series, Mr.Freeze and Poison Ivy were mostly forgotten villains in DC comics that almost nobody ever remembered to ever exist).
Also, about you saying that "the villain is a nerd who then becomes evil", the trend was used again in Iron Man 3 with Aldrich Killian and in Wonder Woman 2 with Cheetah.

I like a many of the designs in this movie, even the Batsuit... and the likes end there. Actually, some of the designs are still are favorites. I agree, why the lingering butt and moob shots? This movie is the definition of a hot mess. I know they wanted to lighten up with Batman; but there's a big difference be being less weighty and being pure helium level light.
An updated homage to the '60s camp? That's the only thing I can think of because it's deliberate. Not everyone can do camp, not every character works well with it. Batman was campy in a small sixties series, there wasn't a lot going on with live action comics, so it's remembered fondly by people who never saw it. There are clips and some episodes here; it's a challenge to see it's appeal. Since it was the sixties, maybe it was the subtext, what someone indulged in before watching each week or TV programs were so boring and bad people were starved for something different.
For most Batman is a dark, sometimes brooding, serious figure; which doesn't preclude humor or the emotional range of a normal human. Now that's he's one of the top (possibly The Top) beloved comic figures, dragging him back into a silly style comparable to the off beat series will never go over well.
Robin was a whinny over aged brat boy and Batgirl was boring and annoying. She was miscast IMO. I wonder if the over accentuation on the two was an attempt to garner teens and tweens for a spin off TV or movies series. It would make sense to launch them in a move lighter than a feather. Parents would only have worry about their children losing brain cells watching those two whine their way through a film.
It's a close call between the PM and HT this time, Pitch Meeting barely edges ahead though.
I can say I liked how Gotham was represented in both this and Batman Forever. That was the best thing for me.
They gave Batman & Robin nipples on their outfits but no nipples at all on Batgirl's costume. Reverse sexism.
