Correction: Originally developers were very against mounts in the game, and wanted to keep the world feeling large. Seems now mounts are planning to be added, my bad, missed this announcement. I personally thing this will be a very good addition to New World!
Guild wars 2 devs claimed for years they would never implement mounts into the game. A while back they did, and it is was one of the best mount systems in mmorpgs. Hope it will work out the same for NW
I literally quit one day and never logged back on after 2 hours of walking to/from quests. It's not a good idea to waste peoples time. It was fine for a few weeks as I "explored" the world and tested the combat but after that it gets real old. One of the biggest gripes of folks playing the game was the amount of time it took to get around. How tone deaf and stubborn can you be to blatantly ignore your top 5 customer complaints and fast track your games demise.
They said they were going to introduce mounts in an interview before it was released they just wanted a bigger map first and they've confirmed mounts are coming. The biggest issue with this game is the lack of end game content and crafting is a sink hole. This coming from someone who has nearly 3k hours and has been playing since launch. The game has a great foundation. it's just failed to reach its destination yet.
@D00RYA I sit in opr or farm mats. I play cause I enjoy the game but I can't deny the lack of end game content there is. You run the same dungeons, do ecr's or opr.
I got to agree. I quit new World some time ago even if i felt it was a great game i vent back to WOW because it never gave me that feeling of achievement and the PVP was just an utter mess despite being the only pvp system i have enjoyed in games like this. Going to install it again and try it and hopefully i will stay with it now because it is truely beautifull
I've been playing New World together with my wife for now maybe a month, so one might argue I am not very experienced. But i do have to say, we enjoy it really much! The journey to lvl60 was fun, and so are the quests that get you there. The (nonexistent) class system, which just lets you choose whichever build you wanna go for and switch it out at any given time instead of forcing you into it is fun, and in endgame, theres still so much to explore, to find out and experience. It doesnt get boring at all. As for barren servers, i can obviously only talk about our server (Kronos EU), and its not barren at all.. Its lively, and populated, with a really great playerbase of helpful and kind people (yes i know thats hard to believe). All that being said, if anyone is trying to find a new MMO to play, i would strongly recommend giving this game a shot.
I played new world at launch and then a bit after the leveling was reworked in the first expansion. What confused me was they reworked the early leveling iirc like up to level 30 I think except my problem with new world wasn't the 1-30 it was the 30-60, it was a slog to get to max level. I started a new character on a fresh server with a friend and we both hit a wall around 30 both times.
Id have to agree I played at launch got to lvl 60 quit for awhile came back to play with a friend and we both stopped at lvl 32 it was just so slow and boring lmao
if New World developers are gonna keep on sleeping on PvP updates this game will never get popular... they need to add at least 2 more maps into Outpost Rush map rotation (desert, winter map...) and do better PvP updates. remove slow on melee hit and make weapons more fun and fluid. those devs still think that adding more OPR maps into rotation would somehow divide the playerbase... clueless... you just add them into a rotation... some variety ffs. Combining open-world elements and fun OPR maps is a great gameplay experience and why New World is soo good. u still have the potential to become one of the most popular games on the gaming market... u already do many things right... open world, chests, arena (most moba studios only care about dota/conquest player so arena is big open niche), voice chat...
@@ghosthavenmusic Bought New World for 20 bucks on steam sale. Gotta say pretty fun combat, so far im really having fun and the money doesn't feel wasted especially for the large amount of content.
I loved this game when it came out, then I ran out of things to do and quit. I want so badly for one of these videos or reviews to say "yes, it's worth playing now!" and they never do
Also, you moan about how much walking there is. You have that in WOW when you have no mounts also. You get a mount 10-12 hours into wow. By this point you are level 60 in new world. Saying its time consuming. Yes, but so are every other MMO before mounts. That is how MMO's should start. As it makes getting a mount more meaningful. Not a negative in my eyes. Just people are spoilt these days.
The fact that you can turn off PVP is enough for me to pay money for this game. I am 100% sold on that alone. I don't need to watch the rest of this video... but I'm gonna.
Raids are coming in a month, transmog in 2 months and mounts in 4 months to mention a few of the upcoming updates. You also mentioned the game were lacking in dungeons, with only 2 end-game dungeons at launch. They have now added Barnacles & Black Powder, Ennead, Tempest Heart, Empyrean Forge and a mashup between Amrine and Starstone for end-game. Depths and Dynasty Shipyard dungeons have also been added to end-game through mutations. Some of these have the best dungeon designs in any game in my opinion.
I respect the effort they put into it and I think it has some of the best dungeon content Ive experienced in an MMO but the whole design of the game is just uncurably flawed imo. Its the economy, it fucking sucks and makes the game feel pointless to play. I can grind my ass off for 1k an hour then my friend gives me 50k because hes an officer in the guild that owns Everfall and they all have so much money they cant even store it in their bank. I tried to come back for fresh start worlds and the pvp was just dead, nobody was doing outpost rush, there were fuck all wars everyone was just braindead grinding same dungeon 50 times a day. They need to just rethink the whole game tbh especially the economy. Drops are pointless because crafting is OP and city owners craft full BiS so easily. You cant get that from drops.
Yeah it was wild how everyone thought that the dupes at the beginning of the game’s life were the issue with the economy. It’s fundamentally flawed beyond repair and has always been that way. Fresh start servers are already dead because no amount of starting fresh can fix this broken economy
How can anyone say anything good about a character creator, where you can't even affect the size or voice of your character. Runescape has a more in-depth character creator than New World.
What turned me off was the guild ownership and war system. Everything is decided by a single player being the guild master including: What taxes are Who goes to war Who has access to the gold being collected by taxes What that gold is spent on Etc I think the game would be a lot better with some in faction conflict to dethrone guild ownership if enough effort is put in so that more players can try and experience that function of the game
I feel like that would be an abused system that PVP griefers and groups of people would infiltrate a guild and just ruin all the hard work put into the guild. That would be a method to make people quit, not help the game. You might be on a good track for ideas, but that one is not a good one. You would just be increasing in-game bullying which is exactly what PVE players hate more than anything.
@@coyote4961 I didn’t mean within guild, I meant within faction, so a green faction can dethrone a green guild like say: one cartel moves into another’s turf even though both fall under the same nation
@@shnorkeythefourth4572 Oh… I gotcha. Yeah that could be an interesting idea…. Kind of throws the faction overall working together out the window in fear of being betrayed, but yeah, that wouldn’t be bad.

No endgame, no profitable crafting/farming for tier 5s, infinite gold not able to spend, level 60 and GS625 in couple of days, no pvp or rewards at all in open world, only bots, no updates with real QOL and content, ghost servers, infinite queus, terrible performance, …
My biggest gripe about new world is the endgame progression system, specifically the expertise. Instead of raising the level caps for ALL your gear when you get a powerful drop, the cap only raises for that specific gear type. That makes it feel even worse if I want to try out new builds; I was primarily a melee tank, but I feel discouraged swapping to a healer cuz I don't want to level up the life staff's expertise to max. I wish it was just like Destiny, tbh. Or maybe introduce some sort of infusion system
i would say your gripe is invalid. Youre not locked into a class. So there needs to be some progression for swapping classes, If you were a melee DPS and now want to be a firestaff rapier, you just now have a 625 expertise firestaff? Like you cant just be a Fury Warrior then be a Pyro Mage.
@@Andrew-vb9bm There’s already a lot of progression as is: 4 pieces of armor, 3 jewelry slots, and all the weapons. What if expertise increases could be for melee, ranged, and magic weapons instead of each individual one? You say I can’t be a fury warrior then a pyro mage: why not? Part of the fun IMO is being able to adapt my playstyle to fit any need depending on the team comp. My armor and jewelry expertise (in addition to whatever gear I’m using pre swap, tank in my case) is already an indication of my progression.
@@jordanreavis8163 called game balance. You having that option and not being locked into a class once creating the character of being a melee then at a whim go magic. Do you not see how FF14 has done it? You still need to skill the other specs, if you just have a blanket GS over everything makes it bland. And you dont even need to grind GS for Focus ring when youve been running Str/Agi Ring. You just need a different ring. Which is perfectly normal in all MMORPG’s. ie you have a hybrid class, that can dps/heal. All you gotta do is gear swap to heal spec or dps spec. The only extra thing you have to do is level up that weapon. Then grind for the BIS.
Just downloaded it today for $15 on Steam. Just like you said. Look really good after the first couple hours. Have my character built and looking like I want. Crafting and gathering are cool. And I think I'll have a lot of fun with this for the price.
There is only one thing that makes this game feel so weird. I am saying it since beta, and it's the only and absolute reality even if you dont like it. This game, the core of this game, everything in this game was designed and if you think deep enough you can realize that, for 3 factions and OPEN world PvP. I was there at launch in the most dominant guild in EU. We hit 60 in the first 5 days the majority of us. We won everything and we did everything. We played for 1,5 month more. Some were crying for no content, others were waiting for something to happen. Nothing. After a year people said the game now is amazing. i came back, played a couple of months. Literally nothing changed. Many nice fancy things, but the core of the game was same. Now think everything, think the game with open world pvp. Everything will be slower for everybody, farming leveling, dungeons, gathering etc. Ganks could happen, companies will be fighting for farm spots etc, and then boom, the content is A LOT. Everything will take time. And Everything will have different value. This is how the game was designed to be. We played it on Alpha and it was amazing.
but the playerbase for a fullscale pvp mmo is minimal and ganking wasnt just a possibility it was so prevalent that it made whole servers just stop playing cause the endgame players where killing every single new player nonstop.
@@feralforlorn that's an urban legend companies want you to believe because it suits their strategy. Launch a game, grab money, then people leave, have small maintain expenses because player base is small, and the ones that keep play spend a lot of money on your shop. Why bother have a huge game, with huge player base, even with sub, when you can make the same money just with fewer ppl and a cash shop? And about high lvls kill lower lvls, same thing was happening on Aion at launch. And what was the answer to that? High lvl guilds and groups protecting your area so lower lvls can farm. And that was content. Elyos shouting pvp calls to protect low lvl areas from Asmodean gankers. Real deal. Purpose. Them the PvE community started complaining, unfortunately ncsoft screwd this pvp scenario, pvp players left and game died. Now, go make a research to check for example the daily player base of lineage 2, 11-12 years after the company "killed" it. A pure hardcore grind pvp game with tons of real money involved. Don't even count Asia. Search to see Russian officials both retail and classic. Then add private servers. Then EU NA and SA private servers. there are servers in EU that hit 2-3 maybe 5k daily. These are few, but there hundreds also with anything between 50-500 ppl. So globally L2 has some tens of thousands daily player base still on private servers. And all of them are waiting for the new pvp game. And all them are going back to l2 after every launch. The majority of the community I am part of, that played NW, did quit because of pvp. Bugs and everything yes, but mostly because of the pvp, game became pointless. Log just for wars, stay on point or push the point, win, take salary, log out. Top guilds, not one, MANY.
@@Numero_E Why bother have a huge game, with huge player base, even with sub, when you can make the same money just with fewer ppl and a cash shop? Should we call them Slaves ?
3:30 I was about to buy it on Steam right not (50% of btw to those interested), but this is a deal breaker to me. A MMO without mounts make no SENSE, c'mon, it's one of the most iconic carrot on a stick items people spend time trying to get...
i remember playing this when it first came out religiously because i was unemployed and had unlimited free time. i was one of the first people in the server to get level 60 and it was incredibly fun. very shortly after reaching level 60 i dropped the game because it just seemed like the only thing left was to grind and grind just to craft some better gear. the pvp was my favorite especially when you did those large faction battles. using the AOE ability on ice gloves and throwing spears was satisfying.
games in a really great place right now. Half the things this guy talks about are not even an issue anymore. You dont have to run everywhere there are a lot of new teleports. He talks about stuff that got fixed 6 months ago. You havent played in a while and decided to make a vid without checking....how cute
Id like to see them get rid of territories except maybe when dealing with pvp, id like it to be more of a realistic WoW style of game, dungeons, pvp, and pve with mounts and specific character builds and professions. This idea of a single character being able to do everything is a bit much and takes away from the experience I think. Mounts and a single auction house economy system is a must at the very least.
then what about final fantasy 14 that is a really popular game and you only need one character to learn all classes in the game and the game is still popular and gives you a nice experience.i love the idea of having one character and to be possible to learn all classes i find it more fun like that then making more characters to try the other classes and some other online games makes you buy character slots if you want to have more characters to try other classes.
I played this game when in got launched, I played this game alone cuz none of my friends like mmos like me, its a bit hard to play alone and go into the dungeons etc. And I'm thinking about to give this game perhaps a try again
Avid New World player here. For new players I'd honestly wait another 6 months before buying and playing. The game will have tons of content and mounts!
@@yujin1343 I mean for 16 bucks it's pretty hard to beat, honestly. By the time you hit 60 if you're casually playing they newest season will come out with all the new content
There are so many elements, many setup or just downright all set to be a big part of the game... and yet in end-game it is narrowed down to 'mutations'. There is PvP but only barely because just 1 instance and open world pvp has never been properly setup. SO that leaves wars, which are limited and most will never partake in. Like consider crafting&gathering, it is so fleshed out and yet just about worthless to spend time and gold on (for many reasons). The world is great, the combat is solid (they don't seem to get how to balance it but it works), lots of other nice stuff but I agree, it is not worth playing even with all the changes and updates they have made.
I see a lot of people stating GW2 is the 2023 MMO go to? I haven’t played NW, but it’s intriguing. Im watching your video and idk if it’s worth the 40$. Should I go GW2?
Can't really speak for GW2. I'm currently in the 2nd expansion and having a ton of fun. But no idea of the end game. New World is fun, you'll probably get your $40 out of it, but just might get a little bored towards the end in my experience
GW2 is okay, the abilities all look bland and boring and outdated. Just a bunch of aoe rings on the ground and chaos. Just my opinion, it never scratches the itch for me. Swtor and wow do here and there
I wanted to leave my own review on what I thought was the best result under the search "new world review" and I am now doing so. For the person that takes a week to acquire something that takes 8 hours, New World is hands down the best MMO there is. That looks like a sarcastic knock on the game but it isn't. It's my favorite MMO for that reason. I have weeks where I don't see my house and am doing over 60 hours of work. Then I have loads of time. I can jump right back into New World and I haven't been left behind. Plus, it's fun. The player base seems to mostly be comprised of people with families and jobs. I remember how annoying hardcore wannabe pros (they have no sponsors and never will) were in other MMO's. A 16 hour accomplishment, they would knock out in a day and then act like anyone that took a week to do it sucked and should uninstall. It was so stupid. You don't have that with New World. I go into content that is below my level often with a mix of people like me and brand new players. I rarely see the people at my level crapping all over the new players that are screwing up. It's just a much more mature community. Is it a perfect game? No. There's no such thing and never will be. There used to be a lot of bugs and now there's just some bugs, for one thing. Some of the bugs are annoying to me mostly because of their age. For the casual player, this is by far the best MMO there is. I don't really do hardcore anything so I can't talk about what this game is like for the hardcore player. I do know that nobody cares how pro you think you are and doing accomplishments to impress people in the game.....well, let's just say people in the game will probably be about as impressed by your in game accomplishments as your relatives will be. Nobody will really care. A quick summary of my very linear review: if you want a time sink mmo that you can jump in and out of, possibly taking years to accomplish what takes others weeks, without feeling left behind, New World is where it's at.
0:56 Not surprising at all, they repeatably nerfed the fun weapons to force players to use the shitty ones. Instead of buffing the shitty weapons. They repeatable nerfed crafting to force players to go into dungeons. Instead of buffing dungeon drops. They repeatadly released patches without playtesting and introduced a mountain of game breaking bugs. Not surprising at all.
I have played this game 7 times to lvl 60 Including all pre-alpha, alpha and beta and full release and after merger. IMO, the game is just a repetitive grind and not worth the time to play anymore. You can however play it once, and then you’ll get bored. If you’re a new player trying for the first time, like all games it is adventurous, but if you’re a veteran player like me, trust me, you will not step back into it anymore unless New World 2 comes out.
animation skills everything good but if they add a concept like chimraland ..like capture beast tame and evolve them to help when you fight beast.. crafts own weapons and build house
I like your thumbnail and title strategy! Your overview was sincere as well :) hit me up if you develop any New World content with the expansions this year!
When ever I play I have server lag(Jitters/Stutters) whenever I come across other players and you always come across other players, so I just don't continue playing. There's so many other MMOs that are just as good if not better that don't have server lag issues.
This game suffers from a lack of story, and need for new dungeons every month. Pvp needs a lot of technical rework, but I think what most players want is different maps for every game mode, and more importance on melee characters. Bows and mages all have range, and this is major factor for melee. An ability slot to add a "Distance closer" so that melee can have some strategy other than "skill issue get rekt scrub... " in text chat, would in my opinion make for a better and more fun melee experience. This game is losing its melee characters from a lack of fun.
Another major thing is how crafting works. I’m not sure if they ever changed it but it being too linear and always going back to iron means very high level players roaming low level zones to compete for the same resource
@@tatum1524 Dog, a little piece of paper left on the ground next to a building isn’t the type of story I’m talking about. At the time of my writing this comment the only thing remotely close to story was the main quest and it ain’t good enough.
I find it funny that you mentioned new world not wanting to add mounts because of realism but then mention teleporting in the next sentence :D Im definitely going to hold out on new world and either hope it improves or a shiny new mmo comes out
*Guys, don't let anyone ever tell you how you should spend your time.* *If you like a Running-SIM from a Company that has a solid track record of mutiple failed endevours and no experience to show for it,* *except for a 95% player Loss and a Game-Engine with more holes in it than a Swish-Cheese.* *Then by GOD go play it and have fun.* 😎
I was on the fence if I should start the game, this video made it clear that it wasnt such a good idea. Also I was looking for builds and general info and stumbled on gold sellers VERY easily, and knowing how the devs dont care too much about the game, im sure theres plenty of hacks and gold selling. Thats a big no no for me. So ill pass, thx for the video, you saved me money
i disagree with the leveling experience. as someone who played the game on release and just started playing again from scratch, i can tell that the new quests and hand holding experience is worse and takes way longer than before. idk why people think it has been improved coz i don't see none of that
5:30 I stooped the game because 2 weapons with 3 skills is boring as hell, especially because there was only (may be still) 6 active skills possible per weapon, and EVERYONE was playing the exact same build because there wasn't much solutions to combine these. If there were 12 active possible skills per weapons, that would change everything about combat mechanics, but for now (except if this has changed), having the same build than literally everyone else is just wrong.
The mage stuff in this game looks amazing. Ive never seen a game nail magic comat like this, it doesnt look snipey and you can get up close to enemies and still do some serious magic shit
New world is a PvP/PvE game where you can choose to do both. What made it more PvE based, was on release, not many ran PvP. As you can toggle it on and off in settlements. Gives you a slight xp boost having it on. But no one used it, because you die 1 time and its 2mins or running which feels bad. To get back to the quest you was on. (Unless you are smart) New world has a campfire mechanic, where you can set it up anywhere, and dying within 500m of it, lets you teleport to it. Anyone speed running the questline will kill themselves more times to travel, than they will run to travel. Just need to be a smart MMO player. Putting campfire near a teleport shrine. So when you done questing, die, teleport to campfire, then teleport back again. 2 loading screens, but 0 travel after the quests are done.
@@MedievalMarty don't missunderstand. The pass is propably fine as it is (see warframes "battlepass) but if parts of the community take that in as "content", it means they are STARVED for actual content and are trying to cope with the lack of content in their fav game xD
Exactly, and I just got back into OSRS after a few years off the sauce. I also started a Hardcore Ironman, which had no idea it was a thing, but it's added so much more excitement and challenge for me and I also saw where they're bringing a new skill to the forefront- Sailing! Look up a video if you haven't already... It looks very promising, and I would compare it to an RS-version of Sea of Thieves. That being said, I know what you mean.
tbh i played this game when it came out and was a faction shot caller for green and then the game fell off hard with no content so i dropped it like everyone else and i wonder what its like now. is it just dungeon runs now or what?
Started playing today i am thurally enjoying it - i like there not being mounts as i think if you rush to end game this game isnt designed to be rushed and the world is beautiful at 4k i couldnt play this at low resolution i think playing this on low eould not be good ill make this my new mmo its for sure fun. The game is not meant and wasnt designed to be rushed. Its to be enjoyed not rushed or have mutiple alts. I disagree with you on the frustration on not having mounts. I like it but i know theyre adding mounts but dont think ill worry about it.

The faction PvP ruined the whole game for me. 50 people from your faction get to "defend" or "attack". 50 people representing your whole faction and in general, it was the same 50 people all the time. You could "apply" to join and help, but 99.99% of the time if you were not in that guild or alliance you just had to sit and wait for the end result. You often see level 20's in the faction war because they were in the guild who owned that territory. So of course you lost because the other guild attacking was way more organized and max level etc. Games like DAoC, Warhammer Online, even World of Warcraft do not "cap" an amount of players to fight in a world faction war. ESO , Rift, I can name every other MMO out there that wasn't even PvP based that did it 10000 times better than this game. You know how frustrating it is to want to PvP and never get selected to do it. The only other option was to zerg group and gather the 'resources' etc. Stupid. It was like being in high school and if you werent in the cool crowd, you werent in at all. Now come to think of it. This game blows.
Look! RUclips is asking for Premium pay so I can watch 1080p with enhanced bitrate? Jeez, they've messed up the quality to make us pay. Normal 1080p looks crap.
I quit at release at level 28. I've played just about every mmo and almost always max level the character but in this game I had no desire. I came back last week and I feel the same way. A lot of the systems just don't sit right with me and I'm looking for something casual anyway so I'm thinking GW2 maybe.
As someone who played a little bit of guild wars 2 on release, this is true that there isn't much gear progression or grinding. It is very easy to enter any type of content in the game and start playing. There are classes, which is a difference between new world, but different weapons change available abilities. Very fun, beautiful game and no sub
This game summed up to me is just this.... disappointing.... Around launch date, I was hearing rumors and hoping/expecting them to make the world MUCH larger than it already is. I was hoping that the map that we first were experiencing was just the starter area, then they would open up a whole big new world that you travel on a ship to that's like 5 times the size of the original world for the full experience. MOUNTS WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED FOR THIS TO WORK!!! However, even without the world I thought was coming, no mounts is part of what killed the game for me. I mean I can see them coming up with restrictions for mounts in order to make it so you can't just cheese your way through everything in the game, but mounts are absolutely necessary. It feels like 80% of all my time in this game is traveling. At first its not bad, then it gets VERY boring. Then to add to the misery, you have a limitation of the use of teleporting to other areas. If you aren't going to have mounts, then need to get rid of that damn teleport cost... but then that would create its own problems because it would devalue the PVP (clan vs clan) part of the game. In opposition of what this video talks about, I like the PVP and PVE mix. I DO BELIEVE that PVE should be its main selling point and priority, but I enjoy the PVP on occasion. There are all kinds of players and there are plenty of opportunities to do PVP if you want. However, this games lack of vision is making it harder because, the more people leave the game, the less fun it becomes for NOT JUST the PVPers, but the PVEers as well.... there is no fun to be had playing a game all alone, and the decisions that the company is making not to make the world more vast and story packed is killing the game. As is their decision to not give the players what they want like the means to travel easier (mounts) without thinking that all their time is spent in worthless traveling back and forth.
That's exactly why you shouldn't listen to rumors/leaks and only get info from official sources, it's just setting up for disappointment :/ That would be awesome if that was the case though, don't get me wrong. I'm not sure if you've played recently, but nowadays fast travel cost is NOTHING. I'm talking, maybe 15-20 azoth to cross the entire map, where back at launch it could cost like 700-800+.
Okay he only went pros about the game so I will go over one big downside of this game. This game honestly didn't really put effort in making background features. One thing I noticed is that every town looks the same and the same monsters that look exactly the same are simply all over the regions. This made me feel like I'm traveling in the same location over and over although I'm moving onto the next level continuously, and added fatigue during the game. Now I just got tired of catching skeletons, pirates, wolves, and especially those ghosts.
sadly start was painfull. this game would be much bigger if they care about servers more at start. lot of poeple quit at this moment i thing i will give it another chance. was fun but servers was awful
Alpha was fiiiire. It needed some adjustments, but it was absolutely different and amazing. The guilds being able to build and declare war was so awesome. The politics were exciting, only being able to master 1 profession, everyone had a job, and it was important. I got it at launch and did not like it at all. It looks great, but it looked great before, the gameplay was dull though. Oh well, one day I guess.
A polished game by a big game company...? The game was VERY unpolished when it came out, and amazon is a big company, but is in no way a big *game* company. New World is the first game they even manage to launch! Now is it polished now? That's why I clicked on this video to find out.
I called it years ago when it launched. This game was not as interesting back in the day during beta gameplay videos and it still isn't. It's fun for one month and then it's over when you realize the entire game is the exact same gameplay as the first 30 levels.
The fact that u say the questsystem is good when they clearly fked up with lvl 20-40. You finish with lvl 30 quests by lvl 33 and then just need to lvl 7 levels or either grind the one and only raid which takes years to lvl up...
Was wondering if i should buy it seeing i've had it wishlisted for a while and it went on sale but seeing at the moment it's 1000 daily players away from all time low and the trend is descending, it's probably almost dead, maybe if they'll do a 90% off instead of 50
How can you compare end game from games that have been out for 20+ years, to New world, being out not even 2 years. Wow did not have any end game content on release. Getting to level 60 was the end of the game. No content after. Now it has mounts to grind, dungeons they added. Skill the created. But they where not always a thing. So for a game that is not even 2 years old yet. New world has a lot of after end game content. Way more than average. Just give them time to work on stuff.
the game is just flawed down to the basics. it cant handle multipel poeple on screen doing their own commands without extreme lag. it cant handle bigger servers and the servers are not easily transferable making it a constant race of merging and opening new servers. the gear system is extremely bloated and a slog for the majority of players. theres no endgame rewards or systems to interact with. the faction system is a snowball mechanic that creates toxicity. the war system is toxic and break the economy trough constant gold flow for perfect gear rolls making the endgame ear unobtainable with normal gameplay.
no mounts is not immersive. At least do transportation services like carriages that leave every 10 minutes or so. Come up with an immersive way of doing it. No way of transportation makes games like these feel unimmersive. Wanna talk immersion? Why can people take out their weapons in towns and stand around in combat stance? Now THAT is unimmersive.
New World really messed up the combat system and pvp going into release. My buddies and I all lost interest pretty early on. Leveling was indeed fun...endgame sucked.
Good lol. I just downloaded the game and honestly I’m not down to walk 10 mins to go to a quest. So I’ll wait to start the game when they add mounts.
How tone deaf and stubborn can you be to blatantly ignore your top 5 customer complaints and fast track your games demise.
how were they against mounts when before the game even came out, data miners discovered horse mounts and such
@@user-uk1nw4lh6ythey personally said so
They said they were going to introduce mounts in an interview before it was released they just wanted a bigger map first and they've confirmed mounts are coming. The biggest issue with this game is the lack of end game content and crafting is a sink hole. This coming from someone who has nearly 3k hours and has been playing since launch. The game has a great foundation. it's just failed to reach its destination yet.
is it because amazon games is actually working on lord of the rings mmorpg? maybe they have a lack of workers in the team for New World?
I'd love to see this game have a no man's sky transformation, and I know they have the capacity to do so
You have 3k hours in a game and say its lack end game? I mean... wow. You must have meant post-endgame.
Yeah they are releasing the 25-35 or something in the next expansion irrc, and then probably another 1 year for the 35-60 if not longer.
Me too, I have no idea what to do now lol
For the next 3 weeks, i'm on that "i-dont-know-what-to-play" mood (before diablo 4). Maybe new world should do the job ...
I swear this is my mood right now
Same here buddy, been like this for a yearr
So guys, did you find something interesting to play during the wait ?
@@ghosthavenmusic Bought New World for 20 bucks on steam sale. Gotta say pretty fun combat, so far im really having fun and the money doesn't feel wasted especially for the large amount of content.
@@ghosthavenmusic NW def doing the job right now, alot of aspects are what I look for in an MMO or game in general.
"character creation is pretty solid, theres no class, height, weight or customization"
Really in itself tells you the bias and lacking perspective in this "review" when those are listed as positives lol
I remember peak New World, PvP nights were chaotic and fun. ALL OF THOSE shouldve been at launched. AG has missed their chance.
ur comment is +1 month old did they introduce the raids ?
@@Paolini_18 Getting added on Thursday
@@julioquan7506 yes
Is it true a lot of the early game dungeons are barren, so new players can't complete them? Keep seeing that complaint in other comments sections.
@@TheXHolly ye exactly, the jeff bezos experience, u either part of the 1% that owns everything or u a wagey
Everything is decided by a single player being the guild master including:
What taxes are
Who goes to war
Who has access to the gold being collected by taxes
What that gold is spent on
Etc
I think the game would be a lot better with some in faction conflict to dethrone guild ownership if enough effort is put in so that more players can try and experience that function of the game

ANARCHY!!!! I don't know what it means, BUT I LOVE IT!!
No endgame, no profitable crafting/farming for tier 5s, infinite gold not able to spend, level 60 and GS625 in couple of days, no pvp or rewards at all in open world, only bots, no updates with real QOL and content, ghost servers, infinite queus, terrible performance, …
The devs don't want to put mounts in order not to break the immersion but then they allows fast travel. Does not make sense.
Or maybe introduce some sort of infusion system
that's how most mmo's are.
i would say your gripe is invalid.
@@jordanreavis8163he’s right honestly. I get where your coming from but things are the way they are for good reason.

@@ptit-monsieur so wat can I do [PERIOD][QUESTION MARK]
Just downloaded it today for $15 on Steam. Just like you said. Look really good after the first couple hours. Have my character built and looking like I want. Crafting and gathering are cool. And I think I'll have a lot of fun with this for the price.
A bit late here, its 16 again on steam, do you still think its worth it After 2 months?
@@feralforlorn They could have add a Loyalty PK system ... but no ... too hard to implement i guess for them

That usually the content creators way
: they make a video just click bait !
Where can u download it?
Id like to see them get rid of territories except maybe when dealing with pvp, id like it to be more of a realistic WoW style of game, dungeons, pvp, and pve with mounts and specific character builds and professions. This idea of a single character being able to do everything is a bit much and takes away from the experience I think.
Mounts and a single auction house economy system is a must at the very least.
I personally think 1 character being able to do everything is a great idea because I'd prefer not having to make multiple characters.
then what about final fantasy 14 that is a really popular game and you only need one character to learn all classes in the game and the game is still popular and gives you a nice experience.i love the idea of having one character and to be possible to learn all classes i find it more fun like that then making more characters to try the other classes and some other online games makes you buy character slots if you want to have more characters to try other classes.
1 character being able to do everything is better in every possible way. Making alts is fine. HAVING to make alts is garbage.
Very honest review. Thank you very much, thats objetcively with much informations. Thanks!
I played this game when in got launched, I played this game alone cuz none of my friends like mmos like me, its a bit hard to play alone and go into the dungeons etc. And I'm thinking about to give this game perhaps a try again

100% agree.. game was incredible for the first 20 levels... its too bad I really really loved it.. until I didn't
Looks really amazing for an mmo, and the combat looks really good
Its a good looking game but running around opening elite chests just isnt a great end game.
Recently tried GW2 myself around a month ago. Highly recommend definitely one of the best if not the best mmos ive personally played to date
Yes gw2 is great, you can get the core game for free and play.
GW2 is okay, the abilities all look bland and boring and outdated. Just a bunch of aoe rings on the ground and chaos. Just my opinion, it never scratches the itch for me. Swtor and wow do here and there
8:39 I didn't think you could turn on/off pvp in the open world? I thought it had to be turned on/off in a town?
Thank you for explaining all of this and saving me from making a huge mistake. I'll keep looking for something that will hook me.
Is it vertical or horizontal prog?
0:56
Not surprising at all, they repeatably nerfed the fun weapons to force players to use the shitty ones.
I just bought the game on steam. Which server should I start on? I'm looking for the highest pop server.
When ever I play I have server lag(Jitters/Stutters) whenever I come across other players and you always come across other players, so I just don't continue playing.
There's so many other MMOs that are just as good if not better that don't have server lag issues.
Do you have to buy this game and then pay for a monthly battle pass?
This game suffers from a lack of story, and need for new dungeons every month. Pvp needs a lot of technical rework, but I think what most players want is different maps for every game mode, and more importance on melee characters. Bows and mages all have range, and this is major factor for melee. An ability slot to add a "Distance closer" so that melee can have some strategy other than "skill issue get rekt scrub... " in text chat, would in my opinion make for a better and more fun melee experience. This game is losing its melee characters from a lack of fun.
Another major thing is how crafting works. I’m not sure if they ever changed it but it being too linear and always going back to iron means very high level players roaming low level zones to compete for the same resource
bruh theres lots of story they got lil side storys to
@@tatum1524 Dog, a little piece of paper left on the ground next to a building isn’t the type of story I’m talking about. At the time of my writing this comment the only thing remotely close to story was the main quest and it ain’t good enough.

So ill pass, thx for the video, you saved me money
amazon* doesn't care too much. but yeah, the gold bots are a huge problem, it really ruins the immersion
Is the game still bricking gpus or is it already been fixed?
i disagree with the leveling experience. as someone who played the game on release and just started playing again from scratch, i can tell that the new quests and hand holding experience is worse and takes way longer than before. idk why people think it has been improved coz i don't see none of that
I love new world, i play from alpha. I really agree with you. I hope pvp content between the worlds maybe increase players
I have over 850 hours on new world and if I’m honest, don’t play this game. Especially now since it’s close to dead
(Unless you are smart)
New world has a campfire mechanic, where you can set it up anywhere, and dying within 500m of it, lets you teleport to it.
Im curious what changes you would like to see added.
thnx for posting.

tbh i played this game when it came out and was a faction shot caller for green and then the game fell off hard with no content so i dropped it like everyone else and i wonder what its like now. is it just dungeon runs now or what?
Excellent video, mate.
i just hitted 60 spent a lot of time on 60 perfecting my build. i went into battleground. my musket bullet did 5% of enemies health. what...
No mounts? I saw on googlethey were thinking about adding them
Baldurs gate 3 comes out soon.
Youre welcome
if New World developers are gonna keep on sleeping on PvP updates this game will never get popular... they need to add at least 2 more maps into Outpost Rush map rotation (desert, winter map...) and do better PvP updates. remove slow on melee hit and make weapons more fun and fluid. those devs still think that adding more OPR maps into rotation would somehow divide the playerbase... clueless... you just add them into a rotation... some variety ffs.
GW2 is casual?
@@johnli7818 Apparently since you can leave it and pick it up at anytime. There is no gear chasing or coming back to being "behind"
As someone who played a little bit of guild wars 2 on release, this is true that there isn't much gear progression or grinding. It is very easy to enter any type of content in the game and start playing. There are classes, which is a difference between new world, but different weapons change available abilities. Very fun, beautiful game and no sub
@@Themurphyshow7 but the game is too old..
@@johnli7818 people still play RuneScape? Not a very good point … kinda ignorant to be honest
I just comment about every time on video, greetings from Poland
Starts watching video, hmmm that voice sounds familiar. Oh wait its marty! Havnt seen you since ff14.
Amazing :D Still playing FF14, did the new raids yesterday, are you?
I was going to buy the game until I saw the food of negative comments. Yeah, I'll pass.
They have to hurry if they want to claim someting as an MMO, Archeage 2 is on the way with Ashes of Creation, those 2 will surely be really good MMo's
I really like your profile pic. Nwo got cucked out of existence bhahha😂😂
Can confirm mounts made the game greater
sadly start was painfull. this game would be much bigger if they care about servers more at start. lot of poeple quit at this moment i thing i will give it another chance. was fun but servers was awful
That's why I clicked on this video to find out.
i really have a crave to come back to new world, but i'm not coming back until mounts are implemented.
What?? No gamepad... I was sure it would be an option...
I called it years ago when it launched. This game was not as interesting back in the day during beta gameplay videos and it still isn't. It's fun for one month and then it's over when you realize the entire game is the exact same gameplay as the first 30 levels.
6:38 Picks up bear urine.
Alright, I guess I'm convinced. I'll buy the game.
The fact that u say the questsystem is good when they clearly fked up with lvl 20-40. You finish with lvl 30 quests by lvl 33 and then just need to lvl 7 levels or either grind the one and only raid which takes years to lvl up...
when it came out it was fun for a month .. after that it was stupid af
Was wondering if i should buy it seeing i've had it wishlisted for a while and it went on sale but seeing at the moment it's 1000 daily players away from all time low and the trend is descending, it's probably almost dead, maybe if they'll do a 90% off instead of 50
i'm confused, right now i see it at 18,000+ players online.
buy it and so long as you play for less than 2 hours you can refund it
Honestly if the game wasn’t dead I would play again
yeah this game looks cool, i wanna get it now, also ive been looking for a game like this for a long time
No mounts? Why? A horse is transportation device, that many games have even offline games. What the fuck are the devs thinking?
You lost me at 'walking for 10 minutes'
when u said there is allot of customization I immediately checked out :) have a nice day sir !
And already tank with sword and shield and two handed sword is soo good on open map 1v1
this game looks good but...... hope the Lord of the Ring MMO be better more story driven on quest and plz be base on the lore
the game is just flawed down to the basics.
it cant handle multipel poeple on screen doing their own commands without extreme lag.
it cant handle bigger servers and the servers are not easily transferable making it a constant race of merging and opening new servers.
the gear system is extremely bloated and a slog for the majority of players.
theres no endgame rewards or systems to interact with.
the faction system is a snowball mechanic that creates toxicity.
the war system is toxic and break the economy trough constant gold flow for perfect gear rolls making the endgame ear unobtainable with normal gameplay.
no mounts is not immersive. At least do transportation services like carriages that leave every 10 minutes or so. Come up with an immersive way of doing it. No way of transportation makes games like these feel unimmersive.
Wanna talk immersion? Why can people take out their weapons in towns and stand around in combat stance? Now THAT is unimmersive.
great video. thanks.
The first minus u named isn’t minus. It’s completely ok.
I haven't touched it since my gpu got fried 😂🤣 Might take a chance now that I don't have anything else to play
New World really messed up the combat system and pvp going into release. My buddies and I all lost interest pretty early on. Leveling was indeed fun...endgame sucked.
