Thanks Jay. I really appreciate it. It's a lot of fun and my ever growing gang of subscribers make it worthwhile. These guys and gals are awesome. I love you son.
Well am I glad to find another left handed shooter who experiences problems with loading the TX200 Mk3. I recently made a video using my TX200, together with a friend who had his HW97K, and together we set out to hunt the Grey Squirrels in the woods where I work. I have installed the TINBUM Tuning kit in my TX, and in that kit they supply all new spring guides, Top Hat, but they are made out of nylon, and therefore eliminate any metal to metal "Clang". If you care to watch my video, you can clearly hear the Clang from the HW97K, compared to my TX, that just sounds like a PCP. For a bit more consistency and improved accuracy, try shooting the TX with an AirArms moderator, that screws into the thread, found on the Hunter Carbine version. Great video, all the best David
New to this channel. I enjoy your videos and appreciate the hard work you put into them. Please pardon the prior confusing post relating to a completely different video (relating to New Zealand's prime ministers). Baffled how it ended up here.
A grand and thorough walk through the tuning process . And although the sound of it was not terrible at first ; the latter sound of its discharge is much smoother and more natural . Thanks again for another great episode . I hope and pray that You recover swiftly and fully from Your surgery .
Not much vibration in a TX. I just prefer zero twang. Doesn't detract from the quality in the least. The Air Arms springers have a well deserved reputation for excellence.
Thanks, Andrew. It's a very nice gun. Looking forward to some trigger time with it. The knee is better, but still not 100%. Getting there though. Thanks so much for watching, my friend.
I’ve have one in .177 with a walnut stock. Also upgraded to the vortek kit. The kit was so easy to install compared to my hw97. Both rifles are fantastic but the AA just has a certain je ne sais quoi. It’s my favorite rifle by a long shot (no pun intended) The first shot after installing vortek kits always makes me giggle too 😂
The vortek PG3 HO brought me up to high 17fpe in my HW97 .22, No more buzz and sooo smoth !!!!! 95 yards hitting acorns!!! Been looking for this exact video before getting a TX200 in .22... Not disappointed in power but really love to see some long distance shooting... Be getting this gun regardless ,but used as you got maybe a better idea than that new price!!
These guns are so simple to strip and tune . the quality is really good .and they look beautiful. Best air rifle made in my opinion. Only downside is they're a heavy gun .good stuff as usual 👍👍
Thank you sir. As far as ease of maintenance is concerned, there's nothing like a TX200. That's for certain. Your feedback is always much appreciated my friend.
Earned yourself a sub on this one sir. Been looking to pick one of these up for a while now, as I only own PCP (Weirauch HW100 & 110 and a Daystate Regal XL - all in 22). These 200's appear very well made and that tune-up quiets the spring harmonics down completely (!), which was why I held off on a springer. Those power spreads really tighten up too. I agree that second hand is the way to go.
Great to have you aboard, my friend. I was really into PCPs for about ten years, so I know how addictive they can be. There's just something about a quality springer. They've got individual personalities. They not only challenge but reward as well.
Thanks for another great video, 8.20 am, I've just watched this and has fired me up to take apart my Weihrauch HW 99 (HW50 to you) and fit my 'TinBum' tuning Kit that I've had knocking about for 2 weeks. Get well soon Kevin.
@@razor1962 all done, hasn't made a huge difference as it wasn't too bad to start with, just had a tiny annoying twang like the gun in this video, it has taken that out. Now for custom made stock 😁 PS, my midrange Webley .22 Acupell 14.3 grain pushing betweens 11.2 and 11.5 foot pounds, close enough to the UK limit....cheap Spitfire plinking pellets, claims 14.6 grain, 8.5 to 9....60 feet per second slower, would you believe that difference.
@@mickchaganis6607 Glad to hear that your rifle is a little better. That speed difference is unreal. Never would've guessed that there'd be that much of a change in velocity.
@@razor1962 it was just a test out of curiosity, I'll save the spitfire's for my back garden plinking guns although I think I'll run the test again when I've bedded all the parts in a bit and the grease has settled where it's going to settle.......not sure how accurate the FX radar chrono is??
thanks f your uploads. as a european same age as you it is super to see the joy you have for springers. i enjoy them, relaxing and so well made . take care
As a European, it's all your fault. In the States, prior to the mid 60s or so, airguns were for kids. On your side of the pond, because of the restrictions on firearms, airguns became serious tools built and marketed for adults. You're the guys who perfected the design while creating many variations of the basic design. So I have you to thank for my love of these guns. 😊
I`m glad you made this video. I won the wood lottery when I bought my new Pro Sport about 8 years ago, but lately it has been erratic in both velocity and accuracy. I have been thinking about passing it on to another, but after this, I`ll just order one of these kits this evening and fix the thing.
There ya' go David. I've never opened up a Pro Sport but if it's anything like the TX200, it'll be a breeze. Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas David.
@@razor1962 I put the 12# kit in this morning, took me maybe 40 minutes. The difference is amazing, with a wonderful shot cycle from cocking to firing. I use a Capri torque driver, and after completely disassembling the rifle including taking the scope off, when I put it all back together it shot to exactly the same point of aim, not one click off. The new seal was easy, after dropping it in hot water for a couple of minutes it snapped right on. Thanks for the boost.
Thank you so much for this video, I have the Vortek kit and I've never done anything like this before so this is so helpful. I hope you feel better soon :)
great video, I actually spoke to air arms many years ago to discuss the power rating of tx 200s , The full power export model (which you have) is designed to run at 16ftlbs of energy in .22 and 14ftlbs in .177, The difference in standard and export models is the actual stroke of the piston ( swept volume) . Considering you have removed the piston weight (which is needed to attain power levels ) You have done extremely well getting it to over 15ftlbs and shooting very nicely . Ive a feeling putting the weight back would increase it to over 16 ftlbs but probably wouldnt shoot as sweet ,, great video , thanks for sharing and keep em coming , all the best tony ( uk) .. ps i have a walnut air arms prosport in .177 , its a keeper for sure
Thanks Tony. I'm very pleased witht he power level of my TX. I'm not sure that I could've put the top hat ( piston weight) back into the rifle with the Vortek kit as the kit already has a top hat. It would be an easy enough experiment however because of the simplicity of the gun. Thanks so much and Merry Christmas my friend.
Thanks Iwan. You didn't do both knees at the same time did you? I've heard of folks doing that but I can't imagine. One at a time is bad enough. Thanks for watching and for the well wishes my friend.
@@iwanvanderhut4159 I hear you there. Ice is your friend. I plan on going back to work at two months but I'll be on light duty. My job is pretty labor intensive so I'll need to delegate some duties for sure.
I just installed the pg4 ho kit on my pro sport and love it. I made the decision after watching this and pt2 a bunch of times. Thank you for the valuable information provided. You’re the man!
Hi Kevin Fine rifle, I'm sure you'll reap the benefits for your efforts here. FYI a good friend has a tricked up TX200, with the full LSD tune and tericote coating. Oddly it doesn't appear much different than my own completely standard TX200HC. Of course ours are UK legal (12ft power level) You certainly can hear the difference between the before and after. Regards from the UK to all
Thanks for a well produced instructional video. I have a left-hand TX200 as well, and I really like it. I have considered installing the same kit from Vortek, but mine is still stock. I have a German made Beeman R9 that I installed a Vortek kit a few years ago, and it really smoothed it out. Really enjoy my air rifles.
Awesome Dustin! Be sure to remove the tophat. It may stay inside the piston when you remove the spring. You don't reinstall it. The kit supplies a new top hat. Let me know what you think of the performance. Thanks as always my friend.
I've found that H&N pellets can sap the power because they are made of quite a hard lead alloy. JSB pellets are softer and can increase power by 0.5 - 1 ft lb
Great video Kevin. Looks like your surgery was a success. Glad to hear and see that. I always wanted a tx200. And when I turned 60 I treated myself to both the tx and Pro sport. They are as advertised. I put a vortex kit in my R-10 and it was a mess to say the least. I will get around to trying them in both of the air arms guns. Great content my friend. Keep the videos coming
Thanks so much for the well wishes. Glad to hear that you were able to purchase two very fine rifles. Curious as to what went wrong with your R10 Vortek install. As always, thanks for watching my friend.
Me too Kevin, I've been lusting for an Air Arms TX200 rifle for years, and I might just be in a position to order one in about a week. So early this morning while I sat here with my morning coffee I decided to look for a 'reputable' review on one of these and here you are! ( How did I miss these two videos of Pellets And Pistons reviews on this rifle? :) Thanks for the information on this one, now the job for me is to first buy ne of these Air Arms rifles, then later ( hopefully ) buy a tune kit for it. Thanks very much for doing these videos, they do help people like me, ( I trust ) who may be interested in buying.
Thanks, Reg. It's a wonderfully constructed and finished rifle. The walnut version is probably the prettiest factory stock on any piston gun currently in production. You may find that you're perfectly satisfied with the smoothness of the rifle right out of the box. I'm that guy who'd take a perfectly preserved Porche 911 and start switching out factory parts for aftermarket performance parts. 🤣
@@razor1962 Hahahaha,.. well that sums it up pretty well.( I do hope you do NOT buy a Porsche.) Thanks all the same, your reply has given me more to think through.
Pretty much sounds like my new Tx200 with conversion . When buying the vortec kit there are 2 kinds one is sub12 foot pounds I believe . Hope you heel up well Kevin 🙏🏻 I saved this video for future reference. Thank you .
Thanks Peter. You're right about the Vortek kits. I opted for the HO or "High Output" version but it didn't make much of a difference from the factory Output. So glad to hear that you found this video useful.
Thanks for another great video! We have much in common as I purchased a barely used TX200HC in .22 a few months back (also looking at some knee work down the road!). Gun was all original and had similar twang. Put an ARH full power spring and seal in which eliminated the twang and increased fpe from 14.05 to 14.9. The Vortek kit sounded smoother and may give it a try some time.
Hi Jeff. I guess we do share some things in common. Congratulations on your TX. Sorry to hear that you're looking at knee work in the future. Just remember....ice is your friend. I hear good things about both the Macarri kits as well as the Vortek products. I've installed a number of Vortek kits with excellent results. I'll be installing a Macarri Hornet kit in my HW95 pretty soon so I'll see for myself I guess. So glad to know that you're enjoying the channel. Thanks so much for watching.
Even with all the pcp's, The springers are still a thing apart. Especially good springers like this Air Arms. I had the Airsporter, which I Never should have sold! The Weihrauch Hw's are also great. This rifle is literally copied of the Hw97 (and K) . But the english made it better. The HW has a nasty twang. And is a bit more like a work horse build then the A.A. Both shoot excellent.
I've been down the PCP path but the romance of springers brought me back. The AirArms and Weihrauch guns are among the finest springers there are. Thanks for watching Ralph.
Very nice rifle and tune👍🙂. I was inside of my HW80 22 today doing a DIY tune and it looks like your TX200 was about a thousand times easier to get in and out of, lol.
😆 Yeah unscrewing that end cap on the HW80 is an experience. The TX200 is known for its ease of takedown. An impressive design all around. Thanks as always Strong Man.
I gave it a shot but the fit was so tight that I couldn't pull the spring from the guide. After trying for a while I noticed that the spring had grease applied already on the portion that was inside the guide. The same grease that was included in the kit. Everything's good and she runs smooth as silk. Thanks so much for watching Kev.
Wel done Kevin! 👍Even when there is no big power difference it sounds way better and it just feels better with new spring and seals isn't it 😁Looking forward to the next video with that nice scope mounted and some precision target shooting. I wish you all the best with your recovery. Some times you need some new parts yourself😉 Cheers!
Funny but I bought the Vortek HO kit shortly after purchase but decided to wait till my gun was more broken in. After 500 shots this gun just keeps getting better in terms of noise, speed, and accuracy. I think I'm selling my Vortek/ HO kit, no need. Owned may springers over the last 30 years, TX200 the hands down best, not cheap but like buying a gun already tuned.
I really need to try those Vortek parts one day! Ive heard only good things about them yet Looks like you made this great rifle even better ! _[Next episode; Vortek knee replacement]_
Thanks Lowkey. Vortek makes an awesome product. Really transforms the rifle. If Vortek offered a knee replacement I'd have seriously considered it....🤣
Yes spring twang also TBT tuning kits from 🇬🇧 UK are excellent 👌 see over here no licence required we can use 12ft/lbs on licence anything over legal limit is fine 👍
Hi Niel Your comment just showed up in my feed as unresponded to. If that's the case I apologize. I try to reply to all of my viewer comments. I know that as my channel grows, there will come a time when that's not possible but for now, I'm sorry that I missed this one.
Well Kevin your like me, just that little bit of ain't quite right... I just done my TX200 HC l got, has steel guide, and it was twangy, couldn't stand it, the Weihrauch guide is even a better fit on the latch rod, Titan spring, moly grease it's now quiet, and now 840fps using field target trophy 8.6 grain, my mate tried it yesterday asked me to do he's as well, he's ordered a spring and guide, makes a big difference. Good thing with the TX is there so easy to strip.
Hi Kevin- another good informative video…I’ve just purchased a 20 year old very well used MK3 TX200 field rifle .22.. plenty of history marks to the woodwork and metal work BUT it shoots as well and straight as any of my highly tuned Weihrauch’s(10) ..I’ve bought it as a project ..intention is to restore the Beech stock that has a really nice piece of wood that has a lace pattern grain, and re-blue the metal work with the Birchwood &Casey 3 part kit. I may fit the Vortek kit but as it shoots so well not sure I want to change the internals just yet..
Another great video! I have the same rifle, I too a, left handed but have a right handed action in a left handed stock as this works great for me! I also have a Pro Sport with right handed action, left handed stock, that is fantastic too. Keep up the great work. Watching you here in New Zealand.
Yes I’m left handed and have the same rifle and the release catch as is a pain still being on the right. I did see an earlier left hand model that was basically a right handed gun in a left handed stock. Wish I had bought that one instead.
Nice rifle, but here in Europe you can buy 2 new HW97K for the price of one TX200 Wallnut 😱Even as a springer enthousiast i cannot find a way to justify that. Great improvement with the Vortek kit. Would be nice if you make a comparison vid on the 97 and the 200. Al my springers got a delrin guide and tophead and lube upgrade. The only ones that did not need a hardware upgrade are my Walther LGU and the new Diana 34EMS, these were perfect out of the box.
Agreed. The retail price of a new TX200 is hard to justify. That's why I bought mine used. I couldn't bring myself to pay full retail either. I will definitely be doing a comparison video between the HW97K and the TX200. Not surprised to hear that your Walther LGU needed no TLC but I am surprised to hear that on the Diana. Thanks for taking the time to comment and thanks for watching my friend.
Having owned a few of both types of rifle, I'd say the TX is higher quality and a better design than the HW, maybe not twice as good but pride of ownership is priceless. The one advantage the HW has over the TX is the underlever release catch, I always found the TX release made my soft little fingers sore after a while. The TX is far easier to work on than the HW, and should you have to field strip a TX, it can be done with hardly any tools and the scope can be left on, the same can't be said of the HW.
I have a TX200 mk3 and I can’t imagine messing with it but my ES is 6 so I guess I got lucky. My sounds the same but with such a small difference and it’s quiet anyways I can’t see it being worth the effort for me. But yours improved a bit so good too see! Good vid
Worth the effort ? Honestly that's one of the selling points of the TX . 😉 You can strip the rifle in under 4 minutes "Without" a spring compressor. Of all Springers the TX is a Dream to work on. 🤷🏼♂️
The AA TX200 is probably one of the UK's most popular under lever spring rifles. What you need to complement it is the break barrel AA Pro Sport which is even better. Your TX200 is actually quite spring noisy compared to those I have shot in the UK but remember most are sub 12ftlbs. Maybe it's been dry fired?
Hi Steven. I believe that the Pro Sport is an underlever also and not a break barrel. Unfortunately, I don't believe that they're available in left hand which is how I shoot. That little bit of spring noise was cured when I installed a Vortek PG4 kit. Now she's performing perfectly. Thanks so much for watching my friend.
What a beautiful rifle! I’m not sure I’ll ever own one, but I sure do salivate over it. I’m really envious. Great work on installing the kit as always. You can definitely hear the difference of before and after. Would you say it was the easiest rifle to work on in your collection? I’ve always heard and read about people raving about how easy it is to break down and reassemble.
Yep that sounds horrible Kevin even from as far away as I am lol! AirArms spring piston rifles are generally nicely put together including friction free nylon bearings and piston rings what you'll find is that the parts are a 'one size fits all'. I discovered my mk2 .177 ProSport had a guide tube that slid off the mainspring which no doubt contributed to that annoying resonance felt during the firing cycle which I too find very distracting.
@@razor1962 kevin internally the prosport is identical to the tx and comes apart very easily. The action is mounted on an aluminium frame that incorporates the flush fitting under lever. Its all self explanatory when you take the stock off. Ken Turner rifles were always designed for ease of maintenance. Actually for many years I have had in my custodian Kens early breech loading ft match rifle(kt83) that he hand built from stainless steel, again comes apart much the same as the tx/ps and pro elite. Going back to the prosport you have to flip the underlever in open position when removing the stock and same for re assemble.
That piston weight/top hat looked as if it was installed back to front, I've replayed the point in the video where you tapped it out and it really does look like your rifle may have been made on a Monday morning or a Friday afternoon. The end result was worth it though.
Lol.....nope. That was my fault. I dropped it back in just to show the viewer to remove it on video and I inadvertently put it in upside down. Good catch my friend
They're sure easy to work on ! 😉👍 I can strip a 50S just as quick though. 🤷🏼♂️ 97 takes only slightly longer, but the TX still has to be about the easiest Springer to cut your teeth on... 🤔
That's for sure Marc. They don't get any simpler than the TX200. It's a very well thought out design which seems to borrow some of the more desirable features from other successful designs.
Thank you for the detailed tear down of the Tx 200. I was wondering if you dismantled the cocking leaver to get the cocking shoe out and subsequently piston sleeve as you did not show this in you video? Thanks
Hi Joe. There was no need to tear the TX down beyond removing the piston. I haven't had to completely disassemble the rifle. I'm not sure what's involved in removing the compression cylinder. Judging by what I've seen so far, I'd guess that it's quite simple. I'm sorry that I can't be of help.
@@razor1962 Ok , thanks . I understand now and so glad that you replied so quickly. I’m about to install my 3rd PG Vortek HO tune kit in my Tx . For some reason I always dismantled the cocking arm and shoe in order to pull the piston sleeve? But there was no need to do this. However the first tear down I did polish the inside of the sleeve to a mirror finish. Concerning the Vortek Tune kit, my gun was much more accurate after the installation. Unfortunately the springs for the TX don’t seem to last very long ? About 2 years ago I installed the same kit in my Beeman R9 and a 12 ft lb in my HH 97k . I shoot every day and they are actually shooting better than when first installed.
Hi, Am new to your channel but liking it sofar, question have you turned a weirach hw57? I've just got one and will be looking to get it turned here in the uk.
Hi Tony. I've never tuned a 57. I'm certain that it's a fairly straightforward job. It's probably very similar to a 97. I've done a 97 and it's a breeze. Thanks so much for watching .
Thanks Kevin. I’m new to air and looking to get in for a bargain. Where is a good source to find used. I am leaning towards the Air Arms line but keeping my options open
Hi Patrick. Are you in the US? If so, I've had good luck buying used airguns on these websites. airgunwarriors.com/classifieds/ www.airgunnation.com/forums/member-classifieds.59/ www.airguns.net/classifieds/classifieds.php Just be cautious with private sales. There are some shady characters on theses sites from time to time. Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas.
Great video like all the ones you have available. Your vibe and enjoyment of springers is contagious and fun to share. I have two questions. First, I note you "tune" a lot of your guns as your recent installation of a Vortek PG4 kit in your TX200. Are these kits made for each specific gun like one for the TX200 and for example, another for the HW97K which you own? If not, dont you lose some aspect of what makes each gun unique, i.e., the spring! I would think the spring in a TX200 and the HW97K are different and determine the personality and certainly the power of the gun. Second question: I ordered a HW97K after watching your video and your accolades on the gun. Can you do a video, like the one for the TX200 (which I own) on how to put a Vortek kit in that? I hear the HWs are a tad harder than the Air Arms to work on. Love your videos. Keep them coming please!
Hi Jon, Thanks so much for your kind words. So glad to know that you're enjoying the channel. Tune kits from say, Vortek or ARH are specific to the model gun. So yes, there's a kit for the HW97K and there's a kit for the TX200. The two are not interchangeable. As far as changing the personality of the gun goes...These kits absolutely change the personality of the rifle. That's the whole point. It takes a terrific gun to the next level. I'd love to make a video on installation of a Vortek kit in 97K but mine is shooting so well that I have no plans to tear it down at the moment. Unfortunately, my channel wasn't up and running when I did the install on my 97K. If there's anyone out there with a 97K who wants to add a Vortek PG4 kit to it. I'll do the job for free if you supply the gun, the kit and the shipping both ways and I'll make a video detailing the process. That's the best I can do for you Jon unless my 97 has an internal failure and needs to be redone. Thanks again my friend and thanks for watching.
@@razor1962 Thanks for the awesome reply. I guess its a deal then. When I get my HW97K in March (they say) I will ship to you with the Vortek kit and you can install the kit. Happy to ship it back and forth. Keep up the great work and ring that bell!
@@razor1962 I also have a HW95 which has a serious twang. I dont know if you have done a video on that but happy to send it along to you with a kit if you want to do a video. Thanks again!
What tuning kit would you recommend for the HW97KT. I have one coming in next week. Im seeking accuracy over everything, im not overly concerned about cost.
Think of it like a new sports car. Most will just drive it and enjoy it, while others will immediately start changing out parts for performance parts. Pretty much the same idea. There's no need to tune a TX, but guys like me will do it anyway. Thanks for watching, my friend.
I think the pro sport is supposed to be the more finely “tuned” springer than the tx from the factory. AA claims the pro sport to not need a tune but I can’t find any literature saying the same for the tx
That absolutely made a difference . Did you get the kit directly from vortek ? And the lubes you used were they from air rifle headquarters ? I definately want to do this to my TX200 .
Yes. The kit comes from Vortek. The lubes are included. If excessive sprung buzz is an issue, consider heavy tar from Air Rifle Headquarters. Thanks for watching, my friend.
Hi Steve. Unfortunately, there aren't many options for an off the shelf, left-hand rifle. However, there are many options in ambidextrous configuration. The only dedicated left-handed off the shelf air rifle that comes to mind is the TX200. Most guns with a cheek piece on the wrong side are still quite usable for a lefty. I'd need to know what your intended use for the rifle is before I could offer any suggestions. Thanks for watching, my friend.
@@razor1962 I'm think along the line of a HW50s style rifle, because it lite weight compact, good for target shooting and capable hunting small game. Thank you for replying back to me 🙂
Most of my kits are Vortek Products. vortekproducts.com/ourstore/ I also use ARH. www.airrifleheadquarters.com/page/page/251327.htm Thanks for watching and happy new year.
Air Arms aren't far from me, the TX is a great rifle but no review should miss the debt it owes to the Pope tuned HW77/97's.... it's pretty much a copy
No argument here, my friend. That trigger system.....Thanks Herman Weihrauch! On the flip side, AirArms springers are the most ornate with the highly polished bluing, and the performance lives up to its looks. Thanks for watching, Dom.
You're certainly welcome to your opinion. The objective was to eliminate the small amount of vibration that the gun was producing. Mission accomplished.

Great video, all the best

A grand and thorough walk through the tuning process . And although the sound of it was not terrible at first ; the latter sound of its discharge is much smoother and more natural . Thanks again for another great episode . I hope and pray that You recover swiftly and fully from Your surgery .

Not disappointed in power but really love to see some long distance shooting... Be getting this gun regardless ,but used as you got maybe a better idea than that new price!!
They do come up for sale rather often. You won't be disappointed. Awesome rifle. Thanks so much for watching.
Yes indeed, i was surprised how easy it was. I prefer shooting heavier guns, my results are better than shooting with lightweights.
@@rapalaron6348 Well then, this is the gun for you my friend. With the scope I'm just shy of 11lbs.
Glad to be your inspiration I Mick and thanks for the well wishes.
@@razor1962 all done, hasn't made a huge difference as it wasn't too bad to start with, just had a tiny annoying twang like the gun in this video, it has taken that out. Now for custom made stock 😁
PS, my midrange Webley .22 Acupell 14.3 grain pushing betweens 11.2 and 11.5 foot pounds, close enough to the UK limit....cheap Spitfire plinking pellets, claims 14.6 grain, 8.5 to 9....60 feet per second slower, would you believe that difference.
Thank you. So pleased to hear that you found the video helpful. Thanks so much for watching, my friend.
great video, I actually spoke to air arms many years ago to discuss the power rating of tx 200s , The full power export model (which you have) is designed to run at 16ftlbs of energy in .22 and 14ftlbs in .177, The difference in standard and export models is the actual stroke of the piston ( swept volume) .
You too buddy have a great Christmas
You are quoting carbine figures. The longer barrel in the mk3 produces 16 ft lb give or take .5 in .177. 17ft lb is not uncommon for the .22.
From a doink to a phut, well done kevin, Good buy. the price of air arms springers now is insane, prosports are £850 now!
Thanks Junglie. I agree. Very hard to justify paying full price for a TX right now.
Very discernable difference with the kit! Great job!
Thanks very much, Russ.
Very nice Kevin. Best wishes for a complete recovery.
Thanks so much my friend.
Get well soon, I had both my knees done, hard work to get back to normal. As for the Tx ,it sounds great.
Thanks Iwan. You didn't do both knees at the same time did you? I've heard of folks doing that but I can't imagine. One at a time is bad enough.
Thanks for watching and for the well wishes my friend.
@razor1962 had a one year break before the second was back to work within three months, not bad for a 58-year-old. Hard work and plenty of ice packs.
@@iwanvanderhut4159 I hear you there. Ice is your friend. I plan on going back to work at two months but I'll be on light duty. My job is pretty labor intensive so I'll need to delegate some duties for sure.

So glad to hear that you found the video useful. Thanks so much for your comment.
What a great tune, both for the gun and your knee! Hope you recover well and thanks for the great videos.
Thanks so much Arthur.
Hi Kevin
Fine rifle, I'm sure you'll reap the benefits for your efforts here.
FYI a good friend has a tricked up TX200, with the full LSD tune and tericote coating. Oddly it doesn't appear much different than my own completely standard TX200HC. Of course ours are UK legal (12ft power level)
You certainly can hear the difference between the before and after.
Regards from the UK to all
Thanks Russell. Got the scope installed and got a rough zero. Can't wait to see what she can do.
Thanks Jim. Those Vortek kits are awesome. Thanks so much for watching my friend.
Thanks for this awesome instructional video. I have ordered this PG Vortek kit for my AA prosport.
Interesting conclusion. Thanks for your ideas.
Excellent video Kevin. I ordered the kit right after I watched your video. Thank you my friend!
Patrick
Awesome. You won't regret it. Makes a great rifle even better. Thanks for watching Patrick.
Thanks for the information on this one, now the job for me is to first buy ne of these Air Arms rifles, then later ( hopefully ) buy a tune kit for it.
@@razor1962 Hahahaha,.. well that sums it up pretty well.( I do hope you do NOT buy a Porsche.)
Thanks all the same, your reply has given me more to think through.
Very impressive with the new spring and you got a beautiful rifle can’t wait to see some accuracy test once you get the scope on it
Thanks John. Stay tuned. There'll be a number of videos coming that feature the TX200. Thanks so much for watching my friend.
Brilliant descriptive video you definitely know your stuff hope the knee get better soon all the best from 🏴👍
Thanks so much Paul. So glad that you enjoyed the video. The knee is doing great and thanks for the well wishes.
Nice optic, I have the same scope on my Feinwerkbau .177. I love it.. Good find! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Gibster. Good to hear that you've had good luck with your Aztec scope. Makes me feel even better about the purchase.
Definitely an heirloom rifle to be enjoyed by generations.
Thanks, John. She's a beauty l, for sure.

😆 Yeah unscrewing that end cap on the HW80 is an experience. The TX200 is known for its ease of takedown. An impressive design all around. Thanks as always Strong Man.
Hi, I would have removed the spring from the metal guide and put some tar on it before assembly.
Great video and enjoy shooting a lovely gun.
Thanks again Kevin mate that tx sure sounds sweet with the tuning kit installed

Wel done Kevin! 👍Even when there is no big power difference it sounds way better and it just feels better with new spring and seals isn't it 😁Looking forward to the next video with that nice scope mounted and some precision target shooting. I wish you all the best with your recovery. Some times you need some new parts yourself😉 Cheers!
Thank you my friend. I'm pleased with the way it turned out. Stay tuned for more on the TX200. Thanks for the well wishes too.
Absolutely George. It has been said that the TX200 is as close to a tuned rifle as a production gun can get. Thanks so much for watching my friend.

Agreed. The TX is a joy to work on.and as you've seen for yourself, even a TX can be improved upon.
Thanks so much for watching, my friend.
That sounds like a fun project on a worthy rifle. Keep us posted.
Amazing and useful video, thank you for content and take care

Thank you and thanks for watching my friend.
Yes I’m left handed and have the same rifle and the release catch as is a pain still being on the right. I did see an earlier left hand model that was basically a right handed gun in a left handed stock. Wish I had bought that one instead.
I've heard of those early left hand TXs. Wish they'd have continued making them that way. Thanks for watching Charles.
Nice job sir 👏 you done it right ✅
hey i am also a leftie with a 2x 200. just learning how to load it, spent many years with right handed guns lol
Hi Dave. Yes, the world doesn't make accommodations for us southpaw.
Thanks so much for watching my friend.
You should use a silicon/STP petrol treatment in 5:1 mix ratio on the piston seal.
It will make the piston slide so much easier.
Thanks Andy. I'll try that in the future. Thanks so much for watching my friend.
Thanks very much. I wouldn't change anything with an ES like that either. Sounds like you're right where you want to be.
I heard the difference. Tks Kevin
Good ear, my friend. She's a dream now.
I would say that the difference in the es is worth it 👍
Agreed. Thanks Dave.
The Top hat came out upside down! 🤔😬
Absolutely the simplest takedown procedure of ANY spring powered airgun. It's a wonderfully simple design.
I don't own a ProSport yet. How easy are they to work on? Agreed a buzzing, vibrating rifle is annoying. 😆. Thanks for watching my friend.
I can strip a 50S just as quick though. 🤷🏼♂️
97 takes only slightly longer, but the TX still has to be about the easiest Springer to cut your teeth on... 🤔
That's for sure Marc. They don't get any simpler than the TX200. It's a very well thought out design which seems to borrow some of the more desirable features from other successful designs.
Very nice, did you tune your HW97K as well? I remember in your video that it was extremely accurate, just wondering if it was factory or tuned?
Yes. I put a Vortek HO PG4 kit in the 97k. Really smoothed it out while delivering 16.5 ft lbs in .22 cal. Thanks for watching my friend.

Accuracy is the most important part which was left out of this video

Just be cautious with private sales. There are some shady characters on theses sites from time to time.
Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas.
hi. nice work. but, was there a reason you didnt lube the spring inside the guide?
Hi Stuart. Yes, the reason is that the portion of the spring that's within the guide is already lubed from the manufacturer.
Thanks for watching.
Hi Jon,
Thanks so much for your kind words.

@@razor1962 And vary good
People, why do people tune the TX200? I was always under the impression these guns came out the factory perfect and didn't require tuning?
Think of it like a new sports car. Most will just drive it and enjoy it, while others will immediately start changing out parts for performance parts. Pretty much the same idea. There's no need to tune a TX, but guys like me will do it anyway.
Thanks for watching, my friend.
@@razor1962 that is a good analogy and thank you for writing me a response, I understand. Thank you my friend 👍🏽
I think the pro sport is supposed to be the more finely “tuned” springer than the tx from the factory. AA claims the pro sport to not need a tune but I can’t find any literature saying the same for the tx
Sound is muted and no buzz.the extreme spread is great now.
Thanks for watching, my friend.
@@razor1962 Thanks i didnt see this reply , disregard my same question on your other video . Awesome job you do on these videos .
If it is a .22 try GTO tin pellets. It's the only pellet that shoots out my 200 and my prosport.
Thanks Paul. Mine is a .22 so I'll definitely give them a try. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching.
Im looking to get a left handed rifle but i dont have many choices to choose from, you have any recommendations? Thank you
Thank you for replying back to me 🙂
@@steveyoung9951 Great choice. The 50S is an awesome rifle.
5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 👌🍀👍
Evening Kevin!
Hey Nibs! How are you this fine evening?
Doing great. Glad to see you getting some new content done after the surgery!
@@WalnutandSteel Thanks Nibs. Finally up and on my feet. Getting better day by day.
Hi, can you tell me where you bought the tune kit ? Thanks
Most of my kits are Vortek Products.
vortekproducts.com/ourstore/
I also use ARH.

Thanks for watching and happy new year.
Kit of the 20 joule?
Apparently, yes. The average muzzle energy in ft/lbs is 15.7 whi h converts to 20 joules.
Thanks for watching, my friend.
Too much grease on the spring! Vortek it's very good
Yes, Vortek makes a good product.
big change
Thank you.
However, perhaps with 20 joules it is less precise in the shot patterns

It would very well be. However, the rifle has preformed quite well since the conversion.
Thanks again, my friend.
🐶🙂👍👋🏻
You don’t need a tune kit just shoot the thing until it breaks in
All of my rifles get tuned. It's what I do. Thanks for watching my friend.
Way way way too much grease...
You're certainly welcome to your opinion. The objective was to eliminate the small amount of vibration that the gun was producing. Mission accomplished.
@@razor1962 Yeah, I'm not being a troll. Check out the English airgun tuners they will always tell you less is more. I use very thin coating of dri slide moly and sleeve the spring.
Troppo grasso sulla molla
Thank you, but the gun appears to disagree.
why spend 800 plus and then tune it uh nah thats air arms job or lack of
Why buy a top of the line sports car only to swap out OEM parts for performance parts?
It's what we do...
