      Agreed. I'm hoping to do a rematch. Next time I want to devote a shooting session to one rifle and then shoot a group on camera, and then do the same with the next rifl5on another day etc...
      This way the element of me having to adjust my shooting technique from one rifle to the next is eliminated. I think that it'll improve my groups as well as giving each rifle my full attention.

      I love your videos and I’m very curious about what type of bell you’re shooting out there. It sounds great when you hit it at 60 yards.

      @@aquabomber So good to hear that you're enjoying the videos.
      The bell is a 14" Diameter demolition saw blade. Once the diamond abrasive is worn off, you're left with a nice 14" diameter gong sitting out there at 60 yards.

    The LGU is still on my wish list, with the TX200 and HW97, I'd have to say the TX has it on looks and build quality, but the 97 just outshoots it on accuracy, not by much though, both such great rifles, I tend to clean and gaze at my TX more than I shoot it, it is just stunning to look at🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ thanks for taking the time to share this, great shooting with the wind conditions too👍

    Thanks for a great video Kevin, almost 100 comments 😁 You're one of the few telling the right thing about the HW97 that it has no anti bear trap system. The most "big" guys doing reviews just tell what the others do and have no clue what this system is and how it works. The HW97 will always be my no1. With both my HW97 and HW77 i,m easy capable to shoot one centimeter groups on 30 yards. In fact with all my HW springers.... Cheers my friend!

    Awesome Video Kev, I always seem to just relax and sit back and really enjoy your content.
    I especially enjoyed the birds singing in the background of this one and I'm really deaf from the powder boomers - Weatherbys mainly infact.
    My love affair began on my wedding day nearly 3 decades ago when my wife presented me one in .177 flavour. My 97k was then sent off to Venom where the late "Popemeister" worked his magic. Later installed a GNib stock. Thousands of shots later I lost her to a fire.
    One thing I would like to point out Kev - Hold sensitivity in springers - underlever and break barrels. Your groups astound me with the unsuported front end shots you take, however, I do believe a lot of your fliers and group sizes are in-part due to this.
    Fantastic content, perfect outdoor location and fabulous narration. Love the music too.
    Happy and safe shooting bud.

      It's really nice to get such positive feedback, Keith. It's truly appreciated.
      Yes, I know that springers have a reputation for being inaccurate with a simple bag rest, and I do believe that it's true for some guns. I have a few that just won't shoot well for me and I suspect that the bag is the issue.

      I'd absolutely end up with different results. I want to have a rematch, but this time I want to devote a shooting session and video segment on different days for each rifle. This way I won't have adjust from one rifle to the next all in one session. I think that it'll be much more indicative of each rifles' potential.

    Nice comparison Kev👍🏻
    Ringing the bell from the bench👌🏻
    I love the look of a TX but the bear trap puts me off so the 97 would be my choice.
    My only fixed barrel springer is a Diana 52 in .177 which I brought a long time ago and needs a refurb but I don’t like it enough to bother 🤣

    • @razor1962
      @razor1962  2 месяца назад +3

      If you think that the bear trap lever is a PIA, try it as a lefty. 🤣🤣🤣
      I don't own any of the Diana sidelever, sliding breech rifles. I've repaired a few. That cocking rod that connects the lever to the sliding breech is a weak point. I've seen many failures, usually due to trying to close the lever forcefully without depressing the bear trap release lever.

    Three great looking underlevers in this vid! Rifle weight has always been a concern of mine as well, but I’ve decided I must have either the HW97k or the TX200hc one day. Your underlever collection is really astounding and always makes me want one so badly.
    I’d love to see a vid like this with the BSA underlever rifles you have one day. Those were some unique looking rifles, to me at least.
    The HW97 may have taken third this round, but it definitely had the highlight of the video. The no look ring the bell shot!

      Don’t be worried about the heft. The extra weight on a springer helps control the recoil and makes them more accurate

    • @razor1962
      @razor1962  2 месяца назад +3

      Ed's right. A heavy springer tends to be more forgiving.
      I do need to do some shooting with the Airsporter Stutzens, I believe that those are the ones that you're referring to. The Airsporter was a BSA classic. The Stutzen version was dressed in a full length (Stutzen) style stock design. It truly is a beautiful rifle.
      I did rework the RB2, but if I remember correctly, I never opened up the Mk1.
      It might be fun to toss a scope on each and see what they're all about.
      Stay tuned.

    Always a fan and have been here since the beginning, you actually helped me shim and lube my Gamo Hunter 22. That being said, it's time to retire the 177, we're too old to load those tiny and inneffective pellets. Doesn't matter how flat the flight path is if all it does is leave a pin hole with no fpe. Wood stock break barrels = happiness. 😊

      I agree about .177 being fiddly (I'm 71) but here in the UK where we have power restrictions they're still the best choice if you want to shoot over 50 yds. If like me you're a wood stock break barrel fan you'll have seen me say this before, my Cometa Fusion is at least equal to if not better than my 97, don't know if I'm lucky but it's a fact.

      @@davidoldboy5425 absolutely agree with you on the power restrictions versus size. All of my airguns are spring or gas piston and 22 caliber which requires atleast 14fpe to be really accurate at 50yds. My beloved R9 puts out 17.5 fpe and is insanely accurate at 50yds, you can literally put 5 pellets through the same hole. My gen 2 Gamo magnum 22 puts out 29 fpe and though it's not quite as accurate as the Beeman, it has no problem going through 8 gauge steel with Hornet pellets. Strangely enough my 2nd most accurate break barrel is the Gamo Hunter 22, it's only 14 fpe but I put a lot of work into it.

      I get the rare complaint about the music. Maybe once a year. I try to keep the volume level very low when I'm speaking. As a matter of fact, it's often times as low as my editing software will permit.
      I do however receive lots of compliments on what folks often refer to as the "vibe" of my content. I think that part of that "vibe" might be the music. I could be 100% wrong though, so take it for what it's worth. There's a video scheduled to be released a few weeks from now, where I bring up this very topic at the end of the video. I specifically ask my viewers to leave a comment to let me know if the music should stay or if it should go. That oughta' point me in the right direction.

      @@razor1962Hi, update was able to find one online, from a very nice gentleman in UK, it’s some sort of Limited model LGU, it has marker on barrel that says it’s # 33 of 100 . 177 cal, has some gold accents on it, absolutely gorgeous rifle, have not shot it yet, will soon. Watching your channel is getting expensive for me, I am up to 15 + springers and more in the works. Be curious to know how many you are up to? Again that’s for sharing, this is a great hobby/ sport.

      Fantastic rifle nevertheless. I've always been able to shoot my 97K the best out of the three, but as you saw in the video, the decision was a tough one but it was between the LGU and the TX200. I've got plans for a rematch where I'll be able to give each rifle a much more fair comparison.

      Lovely rifle, but mechanically not quite all it's cracked up to be ??? 🤷🏼‍♂️
      The mid-lever design increases cocking effort and unfortunately the light aluminum cocking handle tends to twist and flex wallowing out the pivot bushings. 😕

    I always buy a high end scope, to me the scope is just as important. Especially buying a high end PCP or SPRINGER if I'm gonna spend top dollar for the gun then I'm gonna put a real good scope on it. All the scopes I bought were 800 dollars and up to 1200 dollars, the only scope I have cheaper then that is a VECTOR VEYRON 3/12/44 and that was 200 dollars and it's not bad for the price.

    • @JohnVentarino-ey5ln
      @JohnVentarino-ey5ln 2 месяца назад

      @razor1962 that's the last thing I worry about buddy is 10 yards paralex because none of my shooting is close at all, I shoot 50 yards and above, I don't see no need to shoot close ranges because my guns especially my PCPs shoot 1 hole groups at 50 yards and higher so no need to waste my time with 25 yards and them ranges even my HW97KT I don't shoot at 25 yards it's to easy I like stretching all my shooting out farther. But everyone does different things. Even when posting or hunting it's hard and rare to get close to animals so if you get use to and good at longer ranges it gives you so many more chances for getting shots at animals because your not near them and when you do shoot at them they don't know where you are and most of the time don't even fly away.

      @@razor1962 I did watch the video…. Well most of it, HW, LG don’t stand up to the TX, you can’t compare these guns accurately and comprehensively with just 5 shots each that’s ridiculous, I can tell you now my TX hits consistently 1” spinners at 70 yards no problem, the HW and LG struggle to keep up to that standard, at my club we put these guns through their paces and the TX reigns supreme on accuracy at distance, it just does. My TX is in .177 flavour using the JSB 8.44 4.52 heads, it’s an absolute laser.

      A 5 shot group for the purpose of the video just seemed to be about right to keep the length of the video reasonable. Actually, I want to do the video again. Only this time, I want to devote plenty of time to each rifle getting in the zone with it and recording the video once both the rifle and I are warmed up. This way, I can shoot each rifle on different days instead of leaping from one gun to the next without time to relearn the guns personality. It should make for a much more fair comparison.
