I met the hero of this movie 4 years ago. He is friend of my uncle. His life is extremely depressing, he lost his wife and he lives alone. He is very nice person in real life.
This was my first movie I ever watched in my life that I consciously remember. I still remember going to Shanthi theater to watch this with my parents. I was like 6 years old back then. I live in the US now. I know this sounds crazy and just taking a chance. But if Margaret Thompson can read this message, can you please reply to this? I would even brave COVID to come and meet you, as I just LOVE this movie so much and is so nostalgic. I don't even know if she is still alive. But any info about her would be just great!

The actress from 'ankhiyon ke jharokhon se' (that famous song from our coming-of- age years ) lives in the same state I live in (Virginia). I had googled her a while ago and one of these days, I am going to go meet her. BUt idh keLli thumbha disappoint aiithu. But how did you track her down and how do you know she died?
Film has beautiful story and nice ending and lalitha acting was nice and her charecter she loves hindhu riligion therefore we have to learn accept the foreign girls and teach them our culture. Tradition. Tq so much to puttanna kanagal great director
1965 - 1979 was the golden era of kannada movies. All the movies were original and mostly novel based which was equally sensibly picturized. So many Kannada movies were remade into other languages. Wish those days will recoup soon !!
Wow, such a wonderfull movie! In that era......casting...an "american" named "Margaret Thomsen" who....came to karnataka...to study phD in mysore university! Wow.....that era's Amazing director......cannot be compared....with this....ones now!!!
