How to make Flour using a High Powered blender such as a Blendtec - Vitamix - Nutribullet - or - Ninja Blender. You CAN NOT make flour in a regular blender, it just won't have the power or design to do it. You'll need a high quality, slightly more expensive blender, which will be worth it in the long run cause you'll not only be able to make fresh homemade flour recipes but you'll be able to do lots and lots of things you couldn't or wouldn't do before, and everything you blend is fresh, healthy, and amazing.

!!Thanks everyone for reading and watching!!
We did a lot of Blendtec vs vitamix and Nutribullet vs Ninja reviews which you can find on our website we created called www.Findblender.com. But I want to tell you that no matter what blender you go with, it's gonna be great, and you are gonna love being healthy and living healthy. It's better. Exercise, blend, and love life.
About the Blend offs
The Blendoffs aims to inform people about the capabilities of High Power Blenders and the many blended recipes and different blends one can create by using the popular Vitamix blenders, Blendtec blenders, Nutribullet blenders, or Ninja blenders. Vitamix Recipes, Blendtec Recipes, Nutribullet Recipes, and Ninja blender Recipes taste better and come out smoother than recipes made in a regular blender.
So helpful! My second refurbished Blentec just died and I was comparing other models. It was really nice to visibly see the differences between the flours. Thank you!
Sure thing.
I wish they used a flour sifter. That would have shown if there were any ungrounded berries.
Thank you . Exactly video I was looking for . I had ninja in mind but after this changed my mind
Even when using a top-of-the-line grain mill like the Mockmill, if you want store-bought consistency and texture, you're going to want a fine mesh flour sifter. They make them specifically for sifting home-ground flour. If you have a Kitchenaid stand mixer, another alternative is buying the KitchenAid flour mill attachment (about $100). Mockmill also makes a Kitchenaid attachment that has actual grinding stones in it, is easy to clean and use, and runs for about $250. The Mockmill attachment is much better quality than the Kitchenaid brand attachment but both are better alternatives than a blender depending on what appliance you already have.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Looking it up now
I did the same test (except for the rice which was white basmati) using my Ninja Mega Kitchen 1500, 20oz single serve cup, and the results were amazing. Nothing to envy from the Vitamix or Nutribullet. Not that I don't like Vitamix, they seem to be amazing machines and I may eventually get one. But for the purpose of grinding rice flour, I think the Ninja performs good enough if using the single serve instead of the big pitcher.
okay.. you just saved me a ton of money.. my nutribullet.. cracked with popcorn.. tried to make cornmeal.. however.. it is the BOMB.. when grinding my wheat berries.. I have been looking for weeks for a good electric wheat grinder.. bad reviews on so many .. even the expensive ones.. I put about a cup and a half into the bullet and bam.. wheat.. and FAST.. thank you thank you thank you..
Tip: half blend the grains. Then sift out the bran then blend again fully
Exactly my man
I put ingredients in the freezer overnight before blending. This makes the ingredients brittle, improving blending and reduces the risk of overheating the ingredients.
Don't put the container in the freezer as there may be a risk of damaging the blade assembly when blending with it at that low of a temperature. I usually just put the container in the refrigerator.
I blend dry ingredients with the lid off and using a rubber spatula to keep the ingredients feeding into the blades. This reduces blending time and improves the results. You should decide for yourself how much of a safety risk this is.
Thanks Charles, that's great advice. To further on that, if you use frozen fruits and vegetables you don't need ice. If you blend on a long period of time in a high power blender, the ingredients can heat up, which can kill nutrients in the ingredients, so adding ice is important unless you use frozen fruits and vegetables.
Thank you SO MUCH! I've been using a food processor to make oat bran flour for muffins for my mom and I never thought to freeze it. I can only Blitz it for about half a minute at a time and it gets warm. It takes a couple minutes in the food processor to get it fine enough but I can't run it for anywhere near a minute without the flower getting noticeably warm.
I used a top of the line $100 blender to mill some berries and it lasted all of two minutes before the bottom of the jar came apart due to heat. The Vitamix has a special "dry" jar for milling grains and sometimes they give it away with the purchase of a Vitamix online. Costco also has some really good prices but no 'free' stuff.
I have the Ninja with the nutraninja attachment. The nutraninja works amazing for stuff like this
Right on, still haven't tested that one, but soon...
Nope, tried that. Doesn't work well
My Ugly Plant Based Kitchen I thought the same thing. They used the big blender compartment for blending the flour which wasn’t what they were supposed to use. I use my Nutraninja all the time to make homemade chickpea flour and it works very well.
They also used the old big Nutri Ninja which is crap. The modern ones are brilliant , so as they keep using that one the results are going to be horrible with the Ninja. I have a much more modern Ninja & it's fantastic.
Can you make oatmeal powder??
I’m a Vitamix girl 🥰. Love mine!
I now know what I've been doing wrong. My Ninja blender does exactly what you described. Not quite flour when done. I've been creating bricks in my bread maker.
Using the Ninja smoothie cup add on should blend it like the nutri bullet..I think better than.
What kind of Ninja did you use? I tried grinding a pound of einkorn wheat berries in my Ninja Ultima (1500 watts) and it produced a fine flour texture totally equal to commercial whole wheat flour. About a minute and a half at medium to high speed. No large particles left. No special blades. Very happy with it. This blender is in a category of the Vitamix in terms of power. You have to compare apples to apples,
My nutribullet Rx just burned out . I was trying to grind up dehydrated veggies. It smoked and burned up. I just purchased the grinding attachment for my kitchen aid to mill flour. From white berries. Into flour. I hope that works. But it didn’t work on dried veggies. So I just purchased a grinder for dehydrated veggies. I also purchased a siev machine to sift out the wheat hulls so I can make fine flour breads. Expensive day.
You need to mention that the Vitamix has a special grain grinding container---you cannot use the normal blending container that comes with it. Maybe the "G" series is that container??
exactly and they tell you not to use the regular jar.
It looks like the flour used with the Ninja was a different color. May affect the time needed to mill if you used a different grain.
The kitchen aid attachment . I hope it works . I just bought it.
The Blendtec company ALSO sells an electric grain mill, which appears to be the FINEST grind available in flour grinders. It also doesn't take up much space, and if you already have a Blendtec (or other high-speed blender) you can still make coarser flours with your blender.
Please I need one but I don't know what to choose and I need the one can blend dry and wet ingredients
You guys should consider replacing the Ninja Mega in these competitions to maybe the Ninja Chef or something. The Ninja Mega is outdated and I don't think it's that common anymore. Plus the fact that it pretty much gets demolished in every test... lol in fact every time I see a video of "Ninja vs. ..." I already know the Ninja lost.
Nice review. I have to agree with you on both the Nutribullet and Ninja. Ninja is probably the most over hyped blender out there.
For the vitamix, did you use The original container or the one specifically made for dry grains?
I wondered that too but I guess you never received an answer :( The dry grains one has higher prongs but I can't tell in the video.
But when when blend grains in a plastic container, the friction between the cracked grain and the container will have sanding effect that will introduce plastic particles into your flour. .... be aware blending your grain in a blender onlyyyyyyyyyyyy if it has a glass container.
The jars and containers from Vitamix and Blendtec are made from Co Polyester Polycarbonate which is a BPA Free material and has been approved by the NSF. The Ninja and Nutribullet pitchers on the other hand are made from heavy duty plastic.
Thank you so much. This is exactly what I need!
Thank you for your time in making this video
Nutribullet is amazing to use for grinding
Agreed!
So I bought a Nutribullet RX after watching this video. I just got it today and in the instruction it says "Do not use the cross blade for grinding dry materials such as grains, cereal, or coffee." and in bold all caps "NEVER USE THE EXTRACTOR BLADE TO BLEND WITHOUT LIQUID AS DOING SO MAY DAMAGE THE BLADE." So it looks like I am going to have to return it.
Update. I double checked with the company and got this reply.
"Thank you for contacting our company. Regarding your questions, if you are looking to grind dry ingredients, your best option is the NutriBullet 600 watts with the flat blade. Using this machine, is the best way to grind ingredients. However, we do not recommend grinding ingredients in your NutriBullet Rx. If you have any question or concerns, feel free to contact our customer service. Have a great day."
Wow 😳. Glad I didn’t try it...
Nightmare mines definitely going back now then that's all I bought it for.
Ninja has a breach between the food and the mechanical parts, putting poison into your food… I discovered this when I prepared my old one for educational display, of its inner workings… I bought a cheaper one ($18) that’s easier to clean and has a TOTAL separation from the food.
the jar and container are very important. Always look for BPA Free material
Did you use the grinder blade on the nutribullet or the normal?
Did you prefer the wide base vitamix jug compared to the dry jug?
Can you help me? Im wondering if 1000 watt, 20.000 rpm, 2 blades blender can make flour or not.
All Blendtec and Vitamix blender models can make flour from oats, wheat berries, rice, etc.
I watched this video and got the idea of grinding rice in my ninja, I didn't get any flower but i did get a blender that has hundreds of cracks in it now
Lol! The Blendtec and Vitamix offer extra jars and containers for grinding grains, but it usually takes a while to get scratches, it shouldn't happen on your first grind.
in pro750 low profile container ..how much should i use rice or almonds or millet etc to make flour for best results?i used 3 cups but motor seemed to get noises and blades too.i did make it to flour..hopefully fine flour..but i didnt like the noise it made while in youtube i dont hear the noise when making flour
From what i understand the vitamix dry containers do an even better job with grains ans such.
I would love to get a Vitamix but i could afford a Nutribullet. I had a Magicbullet but it broke this 2018 a few months back, so its on to the Nutribullet. Yay! Maybe for mother's day my 5 children can go in a get me the Vitamix i want lol
Thanks guys!
The vitamin wins without even using the dry blade container. Try it with the special container designed for blending grains and it should do an even better job.
Absolutely, Vitamix recommends their "Special Dry Goods" Container for grinding grains because it has a specially designed blade which is specifically meant for dry grains; furthermore, if you do a lot of grinding your container can start to get scratched and cloudy which doesn't look at pretty when it's sitting on the counter. BUT, you are able to grind grains with any of the Vitamix Containers. Read this Review: thedailyvitamin.com/vitamix-blendtec-blades/
Yeah but the cost of the blender plus that container is about $425. No thanks...
I love when you compare them with ninjas. A lot of people can't afford vitamix or blendtec.
I know, we did it just to see the results. Blendtec and Vitamix do have payment plans for people tho making it affordable.
Whilst high speed blenders are great if you have the cash - there is NO WAY I can justify more than 40.00 GBP on a blender. I bought one refurbished for 28.00 GBP (should have been around 40.00 ish) which has food processing and an enormous grinder attachment. The grinder works just as well as these high powered things and is designed for this job. I get really soft fine powder. So if you are on a budget like me then please consider a cheaper blender with a grinder attachment. Even if it doesn't last as long, it will take you many many years to get up to paying 150.00 or more overall so I don't see this as false economy. I have had mine for a year now and it works as well as the day I bought it. I expect to get AT LEAST five years from it.
Yeah bro, but the recipes in the Vitamix and Blendtec come out tasting better. AND, they're easier to make, you know! You can do a payment plan where you only pay like $25/month, if you're on a budget. Do it, get a good blender.
What is your blender brand, thanks
what is your blender brand please
what is your blender brand please
Are all containers dry or wet in this test?
Great review, i didn't realize it was preservatives in flour.
The color the end product varied...did it burn thd flour due to overheating?
No - when you grind something to a fine powder, it tends to lighten quite a bit. You can tell by the color of the flour how finely something is ground - the lighter it is, the more finely ground it is. I don't know why that happens I just know it to be true.
Can i put a hole grain buckwheat seeds ?
Can they grind spices like if I want to make garam masala can I make it with them? I'm thinking to buy one but I'm not sure which one will be good for Indian spices.
Any Blendtec or Vitamix blender model will work
Can you guys make one for oatmeal powder? I use it for my protein shakes & i messed up my small single Magic Bullet Machine... I'm looking into purchasing a bigger blender. 😯
I use the ninja with the nutraninja attachment to make oat milk in the mornings. Works great.
Get the Nutribullet 900watt or 1200 watt (if you want to grind grain). Such a versitile blender, and not nearly the cost of vitamix !!!! Easy to clean and hardly takes up any counter space! I use mine daily!!!
Will we have a NutriBullet and we like it just fine
Does grinding grains in the Blendtec cause pitting in the container?? I read that it does.
Pitting? It causes the container to get cloudy and scratch up but that will happen after a year or two of blending smoothies anyways. You can use the same Blendtec container for everything. It's pretty nice.
Thank you very much good information. Blessings!!!
Ninja blades are sharp for cutting. The vitamix blades are blunt for pulverizing. No contest.
I have a ninja. That thang wont grind nothin. It has a food processor attachment and cant even make oat flour.
thanks for letting us know, can you tell what is the power of your ninja processor?
@@mjuliana100 it's a ninja duo. I believe its 1200 watts but I'm not sure.
You mentioned wheat berries into flour and said the flour will be gluten-free. Wheat berries contain gluten, so disinformation might be critical to folks who are gluten sensitive or intolerant. I'm sure you were not intentionally giving incorrect info.
I think he was saying that the spelt flour is gluten-free.
I can't seem to find any seeds that per 100 grams have more protein than steak
Not only that, but it's a dumb thing to say either way. No one is gonna eat a steak-sized serving of seeds.
Recommended reading: "Proteinaholic: How Our Obsession with Meat Is Killing Us and What We Can Do About It" by Garth Davis (a bariatric surgeon from Houston). Protein, particularly animal protein, is not so good for you.
SOYBEANS, MATURE SEEDS, DRY RSTD has 39.58 grams of protein per 100-gram serving while BEEF, LOIN, TENDERLOIN STEAK, BONELESS, LEAN, 0" FAT, SELECT, COOKED, GRILLED has 31.09 grams per 100-gram serving. I prefer a tenderloin steak personally but here you go just in case you like to eat spoonfuls of soybeans. LOL
what do I look for in a blender besides brand? I can not afford a $300 blender. I do know a few people who were ripped off on the nutra bullet because it has plastic gears and breaks easily
Get the Nutribullet with 1700 Watts, here is a link to a review we did.. It's amazing and compares to the Blendtec and Vitamix Blender Models. thedailyvitamin.com/nutribullet/
Happy Blending!
To Further on your question, you want a blender with at least 1200 watts and with a blade design that pushes or pulls the ingredients in certain direction! You DO NOT want a blender that just spins everything around, which majority of blenders do.
i enjoyed this
Right On... You can mix different seeds together and make custom flours.
i like this
cooland
wow
Of course, Blendtec and Vitamix demolish the competition.
The starch in grins is held in 'packets'. With milling some of these packets are damaged which allows enzymes access to break them down into sugars for the yeast. It is essential that some starch packets are damaged for bread fermentation to take place. A modern commercial roller mill damages about 8% of the starch packets. A watermill damages about 20% of the starch packets. Any more than 20% and the flour is useless for bread baking.
So just how much starch of packets do these very violent blenders damage? Flour needs to be milled fairly gently. I wouldn't go near them for flour milling. Yet you say the longer you let it run the 'fluffier' the flour will become. No - You will destroy the flour.
Oh, and store bought flour is not filled with preservatives and additives. Just make sure that you buy unbleached flour and that there is no added amylase (read the label).
Home milled flour lasts six months quite easily, but for various reasons it is best used withing five hours of milling, or it should be left for 5 - 8 weeks to allow it to oxidise.
You din't cover heat. How hot is the flour after grinding? Too hot and the proteins get damaged.
You don't know much at all about milling so what hubris allows you to hold forth like this?
I just tried using a Ninja and a cuisin art food processor. The rice I was processing did not grind up very well.
yea the vitamix and blendtec are good for grinding rice into flour, comes out nice.
I have the nutribullet rx and the rice flour was a little warm when it was done. I guess that's normal.
Yeah, that's normal
@@blendoffs Thank-you.
THANKs! ....Can anybody help me on finding the best Blender like "Blendtec or Vitamix" , but for a better Price? What do you think of "KeMar Kitchenware KSB-200" or the "Springlane Smoothie-Maker Hanno"??? Is there also another Mixer with the Blendtec concpt (not cutting things, because it has no sharp knifes)!???
THANK YOU AWESOME
Look into the camera.
she is very pretty! Dude how do you find such lady and get her to not cheat on you? My girlfriend is pretty as well blonde and blue eyed but I always have to argue with her. PRetty girls, high demands. She still didn't cheat but complains a lot all the time. Sometimes I think I was better off with an ugly one
Good news for you: this is an inaccurate view of the world. You argue because you have issues in your relationship, not because someone is attractive. It looks like you're a doctor, which means you should be familiar with peer reviewed literature. Look at some of the research in the field of psychology on why people cheat, and who cheats. There's no correlation to attractiveness (or gender), and people often cheat with someone who is less attractive than their partner, but with someone who fills an emotional void that is not being met at home.
Vitamin does not have 1200 watts. The vortex does the in the vitamin. Also vitamin has a dry grind jar.
Have you tried the Vitamix A3500 yet?
im impresd wow

how could it be gluten free? Wheat has gluten...
COMMENT: Your "tip" at 0:04 about eating all possible fruit and vegetable seeds instead of discarding them is good advice, but with an important caveat. While it is true that many varieties of nuts and seeds are highly nutritious**, not all of them are healthy for human consumption and some nuts/seeds from common produce are actually mildly toxic. Apple seeds for example contain trace amounts of cyanide, and should always be removed rather than consumed (raw food aficionado, especially those using juice extractors and/or dehydrators, need to pay extra attention on this topic).
--------------
** Nuts: I eat and cook with a lot of nuts, and regularly make various nut milks for my wife, who is lactose intolerant.
Good Job Roving Punster. Yes, this is true. Apple Seeds are bad for you. Not all seeds are healthy.
I edited my post, after noticing it sounded a bit too pointed. Just to elaborate a bit on the larger issue that prompted me: The need to adequately educate one self about all types of fresh produce is one of the prerequisite burdens (besides cost) of greatly increasing one's dietary intake of same. I've cut way back on processed foods and sugar, in my household in recent years, and I've had to do a lot of additional reading as a result. However, I've yet to find a good video series on produce toxicity, and how to manage, mitigate, or avoid it entirely ... things like (1) which fruits are the most permeable to pesticides and therefore should be heavily washed and consumed with restraint, or better still be purchased organically or grown yourself (ex: strawberries), (2) knowing which plants have toxic leaves that must be removed prior to juicing, cooking or adding to a salad (ex: tomatoes, eggplants, rhubarb), (3) which foods must always be cooked and never consumed raw (ex: taro), (4) which foods fall into the various allergen types and which of your friends/family (and pets) might be sensitive to them, and to what degree of severity (ex: nearly all dog breeds are sensitive to chocolate and the hops in beer, and should never be given either of those items). So far, I've only found such information covered sporadically, if at all.
Roving Punster when you wash, prepare and cut all foods going into the container you just remove all the seeds with a small spoon or melon baller. Its super easy.
How about Vitamix vs Mockmill.
The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!
Nutri bullet is how much and is it possible to gring rice ?
I need a blender to grind rice and lentils. Indian dishes cannot become tasty without a good grinder. Which one I suppose to buy? I can afford up to 400 bucks?
How do you clean the grains before using them?
Rinse in water and allow them dry in the open air or your oven if your region is really cold.
Or use a hair dryer,I think that is better than the oven idea I gave you.
Yea I am glad Ninja copied nutri bullet and made it better :p Also glad I went with nutri ninja instead of the ninja pro
And you aren't even using the Vitamix Dry container...
thank you very much! good test!
Your Welcome!
they are not grinding they are chopping . they can not grind without a grind stone.same as you usa folks with your meat grinder it is not a meat grinder it is a mincer
Well, here is tip for you; meats provide the more complete protein combination your body needs.
If, I eat a carnivorous plant, will I still be a vegetarian or vegan?
A good substitute for meat is mushrooms, there are a lot of different types of mushrooms, and yes, if you eat a plant then you are not eating meat so you will remain in the vegan category. :)
@@blendoffs "if you eat a plant then you are not eating meat so you will remain in the vegan category. :)"
Then, my next question is if a plant can eat meat, if an animal can eat meat, why humans should not eat meat? The chimps which we share our 98% of our DNA eat meat.
You have a unique question, great for discussion. This a judgement call based upon ones own health, everyone has a different body with different problems, some people choose to diet for personal reasons, some for health issues, we can't try to justify reasoning for an individuals choice. :) These are the freedoms that we worked hard for, to have the freedom to choose what you want to put into your body.
@@blendoffs Well, thank your for the answer. It is somewhat what I came to accept about the issue.
i grind sugar in vitamix total nutrition center 3 and it can not reach powder sugar consistency. You can still feel the grainyness. not impress at all!
The 79 downvotes are all from Ninja Blender fans! lol.
That's exactly what makes them great... That stupid triple blade is nonsense
How about peanut butter in blender?
The Vitamix can handle this easily. You can also make other nut butters in the Vitamix.
Lol was this a joke? Were you guys high? Flour and spelt all over the table. You judged it not by using it or sifting you felt it with your hands!
Not apple seeds - they hv cyanide.
Holey, what a super attractive goddess in this video...wowsers...she is a dreamy woman !!
That's Model/Actress Kelley Whilden.
I can see why, is a model / actress...she is brilliant on the camera.
Oh yeah, good demo on the blenders..cheers
.. send a price

just not apple or any pit fruit seeds. not too healthy
Can I use a hand blender ?
No
They quite obviously don't like the Ninja , as they always put it down. She always has to agree with him, which is so bloody annoying.
The Ninja Mega Blender did a horrible job, there is a Nutri Ninja which has a blade design which is similar to the Nutribullet and Vitamix which blends a little better, but the Ninja Mega Blender has a weird blade design and doesn't catch everything. Find More Blenders at: www.findblender.com
The modern Ninjas would have done a far better job, but no matter which Ninja you'd use you'd hate on it anyway haha
@@leslieslass just here 4 years later to remind you that Ninja still sucks compared to alternatives sadly
I have both a blendtec and a vita mix in1 bcuz my blender has blade copies of both combined.
Also. Always buy WIDEST BLADES. THAT is thsecret 2fine blend.
Why? Bcuz thtips are moving far faster the narrow diameter 4a given rotational speed.
Also never grind wheat at hi speed. Grind it at low speed initially then work your way up its easier on the motor. Mine grinds fine in 2.5 minutes 3cups.
Also Lucifer has bred ultra hard tiny wheat 2destroy grinders. ALL grinders are engineered by Lucifers boys 2fail so use commercial blender only. Wheat is Yahwehs staff of life. It is by far greatest energy food &shelf life of a lifetime compact calories so Satan demonizes it with his Reptilian doctors.
Also sprouting u wwheat 23 hours then dry majes for a much tastier sweet flour &softens wheat so doesnt ruin tooling.
Aaand my ninja has 900w so I’m out 😭💔
