Thanks for the tour on wheat varieties and their uses & contents. I have always used my coffee grinder to make gluten free flours. Never tried the bullet before, great tip. Your yeast video is brilliant btw. 👍 So helpful during these shortages. Would love to see how you bake with it. Take care!!!
Great news, I was looking to buy a flour mill and now I don't need to as I have a blender. Have just tried Oats and white Rice and it works perfect in my blender. Thanks!!!
New subscriber here! I am from India and wheat flour is our staple food in making roti ie Indian daily bread. For a long time I have been thinking of grinding the grains at home, and also looked into mills for household purpose, but they are bulky and fussy to accommodate in a regular kitchen. Until I saw this video of yours, I had never realised that I can grind in a regular mixi and that too fresh as and when required! We are used to buy our monthly stock of 5kg-10kg at a time in the store, so I was looking for that kind of quantity mill. But now I can't wait to try grinding wheat at home without a grain mill, in small batches as and when required, like you showed !! I am sure the roti dough I will make of the homemade flour will not be that smooth or light coloured as store bought processed flour, but that's the beauty of having something truly homemade and also having bypassed processed food disadvantages!! Thank you so much for this video !!
Thank you for sharing, very informative! A great substitute for a mill to make flour. I used my coffee grinder to make my almond flour - works too but time-consuming.
What's the temperature of the flour when you do it this way? I heard you never want to take it over 115 degrees; which is why people use a mill. I guess you could freeze the grain first.
Thanks this video was helpful. However I wanted more information. Here are some of my questions: 1. When using my own flour made at home and following a recipe do I use the exact same amount of flour or because it is homemade flour I should cut the amount of flour down?
OMG awesome!!! thank you. yes, there is flour shortage at the stores! Also, been wondering what is the healthiest flour/brand etc. now I can make my own!
Hi Carman! Any whole grain you can find will be a million times better that refined flour found in the store. That said any whole wheat flour is still a lot better than the refined white stuff!
I suggest cooking then drying Connell completely (dehydrating) any beans you want to make intro flour. There are compounds in beans that make them very difficult to digest that soaking or cooking get rid of :)
The popular bean flour now is chickpea flour. It's very versatile. But make sure you cook the beans first them dehydrate in order to grind them into flour.

I’m learning how to make a lot of things without the help of complex machines that require a lot of energy like electricity and so on with the approach of “well if one day suddenly we’re cut off, what use is this machine gonna be now if it runs out of battery or if it breaks?” Trying to avoid blenders though. Any machine that requires you to plug it in.
What the hell? Everyone says you need to spend $300 or +++ for a mill! This will def work for blending wheat berries once a week! Going to try this asap!!
Please make video about How to grow plantation with very limited soil and space.i dont think i can rely on groceries anymore.atleast survival vegetables like potato?
PLEASE give a recipe using your cultivated yeast for bread! I am ready to make something from it in the next day or two and don't know the proper ratio or timing when comparing to a recipe that calls for active dry yeast. PLEASE!
Hi! Could you make a video about if grains are bad for you? I plan to make my own flour. I feel conflicted about grains. Are they only bad for you if you buy them from the store already blended because they are starting to go rancid?
Store bought flour is bad, because they remove the germ (which contains vitamins and minerals), and bran (the fibrous hull) to make longer shelf life (but bad for your health) white flour.
Hmm... I mean it's a good and informative video so I'll give a thumbs up 👍, but I'm looking for more low-tech options potentially using repurposed things. If I'm going to use electricity to make my wild amaranth flour, I'd rather it run off the dozen extra solar stake lights I've got lying around (or the rechargeable AA batteries they use)
It's true. This method can heat up the flour more than you want. It is the reason mills use stones to grind grains rather than metal. But if you take small breaks you can keep the temperature within a reasonable range.
My nutribullet instructions book said it COULDN'T grind dry grains and you had to put liquid in to make it work properly but I found out they do a milling attachment for the job that I've just ordered!
This was concise and highly informative. I'm just learning about milling my own grains. Total novice here but you demystified the process. I don't have room in my small apartment for a grain mill but I have a Nutribullet. Thank you
Bravo, and ditto! SO glad to finally learn that I can grind grains in my Nutribullet. I just bought 3 pounds of hulled barley, and can now make it into bread with confidence.
wow. now I know why wheat flour is soo much more healthier. One thing. I don't think he mentioned the shelf life of wheat berries. Do you have to use them as soon as you buy them?
Like your personality, and the presentation. Very informative. Also, comments by others posting on here is very helpful too. Am thinking vacuum sealing the berries/seeds and then freezing might keep the wheat berries for a very long time, if needed.
Vaccum seal in mylar bags WITH oxygen absorbers inside the bags and put them in a large food grade container. NO FREEZING required for long term, Joseph stored his grain for more than 7 years to feed the nations! Also use bay leaves to ward off the bugs, a good sealed container and your mylar bags will do the rest, they keep INDEFINITELY if stored correctly! The ULTIMATE survival food!
This is the most awesome video I’ve seen in my search for long term food prepping (making my own flour) in the month I’ve been searching RUclips. Thank you so much for sharing. What was the handy little blender you were using? I’ve seen a vitamin which is much bigger and would certainly come in handy but I just love how easy and convenient this blender seemed.
You can also sieve it for very fine texture after blending. Then blend the coarse texture again.
Thanks for that tip also
I thought you weren't supposed to blend it.
Amazing! I have wanted a flour mill for years, but could not afford one. I have a Magic Bullet.
I’m 36 seconds in, and I’m already obsessed with the blue cabinets. So unique and clean!
THIS GUY IS CORONA'S MESSIAH😂😂
Lmao Hahaha haha!
😂😂😂

Awesome! I have a hand mill and my shoulder has been bothering me. This tip will give it a nice break.
Great news, I was looking to buy a flour mill and now I don't need to as I have a blender. Have just tried Oats and white Rice and it works perfect in my blender. Thanks!!!

What type of grain is best substitute four bread flour? Thank you for your videos
The best all around that I recommend is Organic Hard White Wheat Berries.
Thank you for sharing, very informative! A great substitute for a mill to make flour. I used my coffee grinder to make my almond flour - works too but time-consuming.
Can you make sourdough bread with all of those types of flour you mentioned? Is there a particular one you prefer for sourdough sandwich bread?
The wheat will overheat the grinder...It broke mine...true story. Maybe the other grains are softer and sure there is no problem with nuts...
I've watched like 10 videos on what flour was and they all didn't make sense. This video makes it so easy and clear.
I wonder how do you manage looking fit and eating tons of bread 🥖 🍞 bread 🥯? 🤨
Because he eats real bread, not processed crap.
Yes! Eric is right. Whole plant based foods are nutrient dense but low calorie. You have to eat a lot to gain weight.
A fabulous video on making flour from any grains!More people need to know this!
Awesome!!! Thanks dude, exactly what I was looking for!

Thank you so much for the video. Very very informative. And simply put. Loveee it. Thank you again.
Just started making breads, this was a life saver. Thank you!
I want the mill that you have
Be sure to keep an eye on the temperature. The heat from the blender can destroy the nutrients I heard
really? what about the heat from the oven during the baking process?

I have just been so enlightened! lol I had no idea this would be so easy to do while also being healthier!
Wow, you are back! Nice.
My understanding was when it heats up the flour from a blender , It kills the vitamins in it. Am I wrong?
So you've substituted a mill with a blender. Not quite what I was hoping for.
Thanks, we ordered spelt berries instead of flakes and I wasn't sure I could grind without a mill.
PLEASE give a recipe using your cultivated yeast for bread! I am ready to make something from it in the next day or two and don't know the proper ratio or timing when comparing to a recipe that calls for active dry yeast. PLEASE!
I don't have a scale to weigh it either, so approximate volume would be a great help in these times. Thank you.
elfudge35 take a look back at some King’s Roost older flogs, he has all the measurements and how to make your bread as well. Hope this helps 😃
Thanks GREAT video!! Glad I found you.
Thank so much save me from buying expensive mill.
Awesome .....
Please tell your DOG'S I said hi....
How to make flour without a mill: "Get a different machine." Hahahahahhaha!@ WTF
Says the guy with two $400.00 grain mills.
Wow.... it’s like an eye opening moment ! Thank you for this great lesson
💚💚💚💚 bookmark/notes : …… ect…..tbc…..-g-b, bot
Amazing video, thank you for showing how simple it really is! Although, how do you make rice flour? Do you just blend raw rice? 🤔
Yes. It works exactly the same.
Can i also use something like a hand crank coffee grinder since i need to imatate stoneground corse flour, medium ground and fine ground
what blender brand and model is it please? TIA❤
Well shoot maybe it was my choice of wheat and not the fineness of my grain.
You can make powdered sugar your blender too.
Thank you for the wonderful information.

What brand is your coffee grinder?
at 1:18 you dog high tail it out of the kitchen, Said that he had enough of this
Very informative! Thx

Where did you get those tall square jars?
Ok, you just blew this old gals mind about making my own flour. Thank you so much and blessings.
Do I see Poland on your calendar?😁 Polish cousine is very much based on flour! Not to mention our strong bread culture. Greetings from Europe 🤓
Amazingly informative video. Thank you!
I heard this can overheat grains. Is that problematic?

Hahaha, 1:15 The dog is OUTTA there!
So happy to see this, as I have a bullet & wondered if it would work for this. Thanks!!
thanks for this video. which coffee grinder do you use? And, do you recommend it? Also, what are the watts?
Great post! Thanks.
well doggies! thanks
how many minutes do you let it run?
i wish you did a side by side comparison of the flour from the mill you have behind you too. thanks for the great video!
Thank you for this.
My nutribullet instructions book said it COULDN'T grind dry grains and you had to put liquid in to make it work properly but I found out they do a milling attachment for the job that I've just ordered!
Good to know!
Gave it a try with my blender and kinda coarse so put that in my coffee grinder and damn he is right it works. This was with rice.
Isn’t spelt high on protein? It’s 25g per cup which is pretty high for a grain no?
For some reason, my nutribullet gets hot and the black rubber thing on the bottom starts to peel apart. I have the same on you are using.
Thank you for the valuable information. I really enjoyed it.
Good info, on the various 'flours' saved in my 'bread' folder
💚🤘🏿
Thank Jehovah 🙏🏽
Brilliant content
That’s friggin awesome bud!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Doing prepping on the cheap and Free, this is good to know when the shelves at the store is empty

They are living seeds, so if kept cold will last indefinitely
Great video! Thanks for the ideas!! 🍞
You explained very well. Thank You .
