Dude... when i played Mirrors Edge some years ago i don't know why but this game had a strange feeling. The music, the scenarios, level designs i don't know why, but this game have a really confortable and peace tome...
This chapter -- Kate -- was my favorite. It felt so weird after running away from and taking down the Icarus guys, the game's like, "Hey, we're gonna give you a break. Here's some peaceful music. We know everything that could go wrong has gone wrong, and it's probably going to get worse, but we're gonna give you some hope anyway."
zachanikwano And right at a point in the story where you get to actually are allowed to relax-ing-ly work your way through a platform/parkour only area to boot...
At some point in a descent your fear dissipates and there is tranquility in absolute focus. You have little left to lose and an absolute goal to accomplish
Mirror’s Edge is one of my favourite games of all time. It takes me back to a time where everything was simpler. Games weren’t about micro transactions, school was the only worry in our life, nothing mattered and happiness was real. I have a lot of thank this game for. Never again will we have a game like this.
Figuring out how to climb the construction site with this music playing is probably my favourite moment in the game. But then again I am more of a climber than a parkour enthusiast.
However much I'm looking forward to Catalyst and the return of Solar Fields, I doubt there'll be a song that gives me as much euphoria as I get from listening to this song. Words can't describe the beauty this song portrays. It's so.. mysterious. I can't quite explain what I mean. It makes me feel powerless, that life will continue regardless of what I choose to do, or not to do, but at the same time makes me strive for a better future. I can imagine that's what Faith felt when rescuing Kate. Being chased, being attacked, being hunted - only to have a brief moments respite when climbing the giant structure. If at that moment her mind contained no thoughts, and instead contained a song, THIS is what I imagine she is hearing.
Best music from the track. Also good game level, it is a massive multilevel maze, but after all you have learnt in the past levels you slowly climb it, the music enhances that "I have finally mastered it" feeling.
Yeah, it is a good level, not frantic like some of the others, you can just enjoy the climbing and the building music... damn I'd put the Xbox away, gotta dig it out and have one more run at Kate's puzzle...
This point in the game is very memorable for me. Throughout most of the game I'm moving fast as I can through the environments, but this part of the game is the point where I really slow down and soak in the atmosphere. I take more time bracing myself for each jump/wall run and allow myself to look down and see how high I've gotten because right now this is a moment where your left alone to get to your destination in your own time. No re-visit of this game is left without one replay of this section.
It's the best way to do it. I live on the third floor, i'll always remember the feeling of this stage with the sun filling my room through my open window and the fresh air Faith probably feels every time she runs...
Decided to replay the game I loved as a kid. Yesterday I was at that level, today I replayed it for that song. I slowed down, looked at the people going on the streets, but this song... Well considering the amount of views on that one it's no surprise that the others loved it too. It has that weird cyberpunk touch even though it fits our world's current shape just fine. This game was released in 2008/2009, it was so ahead of its time in terms of story and basically... its time. One of the top video games soundtracks of all time.
One of my favorite pieces from video-game soundtracks. This means a lot to me due to the nostalgia factor and also for all the emotions it makes me feel that I can not verbalise.
I remember falling on my back in the game and I'd just stare up at the ledges above me to figure out how to get up to that stupid vent at the top and this music was always helpful with relaxing long enough to figure it out and relise how easy it was and then fall to my death and start over again till I got it right. I really hope that we get just as good if not better of a soundtrack for Mirror's Edge 2
Wow I did the same thing too, but I'd imagine I was Faith being frustrated figuring out how to get through, and throwing herself to the floor in anger after falling one too many times lol
I haven’t met a single person who doesn’t like this music. Fuck what everyone else says, game soundtracks are legitimate music and this track is a masterpiece. 11 years later and it sounds just as good. Fondness and melancholy. Nature and artifice. Shrouded in mystery yet also nostaligic, all portrayed through the notes in a single tune.
Catalyst is no match for this game, Mirror's Edge was an experimental game and it had it's magic. The architecture, music, characters... Can't really explain why but I keep coming back to the original game, the reboot game went in very generic way. Not saying it's bad but it's just weak compared to the original.
Milan Jaržábek I really liked Catalyst. The original is still my favorite, but Catalyst was an excellent game and worthy of the title Mirror's Edge. Yes, it was hampered by all the features they crammed in, but it was beautiful in its own way. I like the two games for different reasons.
Yeah, Mirror's is nowhere near as good as DICE's other flagship franchise (Battlefield!) but it's still a decent enough game. The parkour, the techno soundtrack, the stunning environments, and the combat. (Yes, I liked it!)
Вся игра великолепна стилистика музыка общий антураж. Прошел в день выхода и ещё несколько раз позже, все же убеждаюсь что игры раньше делали с душой а не просто подзаработать бабок как сейчас
Yeah, I also think this stands out in what is a great soundtrack, an integral part of the game and the unique atmosphere of the Mirror's Edge world. One of the few in any game I seek out as music in its own right... and makes me want to play again.... splat!
Remember hearing this track in an old Mirrors Edge easter eggs video where it talks about some creepy website related to the story that gives you a secret message, can't find the video anymore but glad I finally found the track.
I remember running around the room just listening to this song, also walking away from the game just listening to the song loop for hours. This is definitely my favorite piece, its also the hardest part to me to get passed in the game.
When I got to this level and saw the Doves fly up the Atrium, I squinted my eyes, nodded my head and thought "time to incorporate everything I've learned, for Kate"
What EA would do is just remaking honestly... And I'm not even sure if I can trust to EA for ME Dead Space (one of the EA games that popular at the same time with Mirror's Edge, but also ruined with the third game) now currently is developing a new remake, But I'm not sure about how it will be
I absolutely love this certain sound track... There is just something about it. I've been listening to it frequently ever since i got the game (when it came out) and its not gotten too old for mr.
I remember this being such a hard climb the first time I played the game, and I felt like giving up, but the music made me feel so determined, and when I got to the top, it was a feeling of accomplishment that I rarely ever feel in video games. Of course, returning to the climb, it was never quite as hard, so all I felt was nostalgia. But that's fine, it's the first time that really counts.
Love this soundtrack, it brings back memories of a 7-year-old me back in 2009 on the Xbox 360, stuck for days trying to figure out how to climb that huge building - thanks to the music, I didn't mind the frustration.
While meditating to this i imagined there being a stadium with thousands of people in it and they were in meditation pods. They were just listening and feeling the music flowing through them as this track swam throughout the speakers . It would be called the " MEDI-STADIUM "

Going through that section where you have to jump all of those pillars and scaffolding is a bit annoying but it actually is really easy once you do it enough times and know where to go. This music is awesome though, especially given effects from the start up sequence are used in this.
Interesting, i feel the same. A sunny summer afternoon, with a vibrant blue sky and perhaps a few nice and clean clouds here and there, kind of the atmosphere of the game itself.
I really loved this part of the game, you kinda use everything you’ve learned up until this point to climb it and i did it pretty slow since the music is too damn good
best soundtarck of the game to my mind. Seems nostalgic and a bit sad. It doesn t fit with the moment of the game but the music is so good that you are full of emotions while nothing happens ^^
Well it only plays in the section of 'Kate' where you have to figure out how to climb the construction site. That part of the chapter wasnt really that fast-paced and IMO the music fits perfectly.
I love this music, I have troubles sleeping at night but, I just take my iPhone and listen to this before I go to bed and it calms me down. I was diognosed with depression when I was 12 years old and whenever I'm having problems I just listen to this and it calms be down.
