One of my favorite moments in all of gaming was running into the Atrium for the first time. The pigeons flying upwards, that realization of the puzzle setting in, and just thinking, "...I've got this."
This is one of my childhood memories… Playing this level as a 15 year old on a sunny day would just make me stand still in the game and I would just look outside at the blue sky with this soundtrack on the background. Pure bliss!
We can all agree that Solar Fields created the world of mirrors edge in our ears without needing visuals. Ever since 2008 he's been my top artist, i'd recommend carbon based lifeforms for people interested in that genre
There's always something about this part of the game that makes me feel nostalgic. The music, the whole atrium. Everything. I could have climbed it up for days on repeat.
You can smell the concrete and dust from construction…the coolness of the the floor and walls when concrete has been in shadow for hours during the day…this game….this game is so important to us all…when Kate music came on you knew it was a special moment in your gaming lives Like when you crossed into Mexico for the first time at night in Res Dead Redemption 1
Yes, exactly! I just lived a whole another life playing this game and never will be the same. I awakened and everything was foreign to me. The real life stayed there…
I know…this game has an emotional appeal to me like no other. It’s not the best game in the world but it’s MY best game…I can almost smell the concrete
Bro this game hasn't been topped still. Like you could almost smell fresh air when running across the rooftops, jumping from one building to another and as soon as you get inside, you just felt that sensation of cool and chill environment. This game is something.
Great job putting this together. It's even better when you hear it in the game. First it starts quiet, then as you climb higher the music starts to get more and more grand. You get a genuine feeling of pride by the time you beat the puzzle.
The same. Game is just incredible. I like how the game immerse you into gameplay. The game become very real when you play it. I don't know why the Catalyst doesn't have this important thing.
@@vigil3273 Maybe because Catalyst is full of triple A/EA guff. Pointless upgrade points, pointless collectibles, etc. I like Catalyst more gameplay wise but og mirror's edge is the best game overall.

15 years ago, we all remember playing this game, astonished by the visuals and music This game hit me very hard, even to this day The days we are careless and free of responsibilities, come back after school, play this game and have lunch at home with the family All the things we took for granted as teenagers, our time, our family and how young our parents were, here we are, back in the same place, except we are older, and so are our parents Things will never be the same again, but this will always be one of the most beautiful reminders of the good things we once had in our lives ❤

For some reason, my brain interprets that soft, short glockenspiel rhythm as "We just want to say, Thank You!". I know that's definitely not what the intended but I refuse to hear it any other way. One of my favorite games of all time and will always have a place in my heart.
Faith: "Kreeg told me you gave up your last carton of smokes for Kate's convoy plans..." Merc: "Hey Kiddo!, you've been with me a while now you're like family." Faith: "Seriously, thanks..."

Eternal loneliness, sadness from the depths of Universe, still the glimps of light in our little space is what I feel when I listen to this masterpiece. Reading comments and seeing that many others love Mirror's Edge and this theme makes me happy. No more loneliness, we are all bound with those emotions. As if we were camped somewhere in the infinite expanses of the universe. Lost but not led astray…
my favorite part about mirror's edge was how some soundtrack bits were incorporated into the sound design you hear parts of this song in the opening logo sequence for the game, and elements of the shard for some sound effects like the ones in time trials
My favorite chapter and bgm in Mirror's edge Faith is running and climbing closer to her sister Kate on limited time before the trail after all the gun firing and chasing you finally have a moment alone in the atrium.
I think this track is one of those that, kinda, breathe new hope for something into you, and i absolutely love this feeling. The experience from trying to beat the puzzle throughout (i think) three game sessions (with the third finishing) is quite amazing and the music is sort of calming, so the chapter seems to transition between Chaos -> Calm -> Chaos with the Calm part being the puzzle. I absolutely love this track and pretty much all the other in the Mirror's Edge soundtrack. Even though Catalyst's Soundtrack was also (partially) made by Solar Fields, i don't quite think it sounds as nice, so i think the OST of the first Mirror's Edge is the best thing i've ever listened to in my life, and i am quite/really young - born in 2010, learned about this game in 2021/2022 (don't exactly remember). I DO very highly recommend you to check out the first Mirror's Edge!
I grew to hate this music because I had to play this puzzle *sixteen times in a row* due to a game-crashing bug. When I finally made it past the bug, I was on top of the world. I now love this music again.
Yes! By far the best track and gameplay moment in the game. If only the rest of the indoor levels were like this instead of crawling through vents. Also please upload these onto something that doesn't compress the audio as much as youtube as well.
