- They call us The Great Heroes. Space faring colonizers sent to expand the diplomatic reach of our honourable Earth among the stars. Ever since I was a child I idolized The Great Heroes that went before us. Like superstars they would board the ship of their launch year with the rest of their crew, waving to an overjoyed barrage of cameras and reportermen. I never thought I would get the chance to follow in their footsteps, yet here I am. I said farewell to my crewmates just three suns ago. Five members, sent to pave the way for future colonization on five of the most habitable planets in the galaxy. If my efforts prove fruitful (and the planet survivable), I may receive colony members within three to five Earth years. Until then I build, forage and research. Doing everything in my power to establish a veritable home for our kind. This is my duty, my calling. For I, am A Voyager.

And you have seen so much, and learned so much, and lived through so much… Yet, as you drift farther into the void, a whisper in the darkened corners of existence, you start to unravel the fabric of reality itself. Each new discovery, each distant star, reveals not only wonders but also shadows, long hidden from the eyes of your kind. These shadows are secrets that were never meant to be uncovered, truths that lie beneath the very essence of existence, beyond the comprehension of any mortal mind... You..., are now entangled in the threads of these ancient mysteries, pulling at the seams of creation itself. But beware, for the more you learn, the less you remain what you once were. The knowledge you have gained, the wonders you have witnessed, they are not without cost. They weigh on you, twisting your essence, reshaping your very being into something... different... Can you feel it, Traveler? The creeping change, the slow unraveling of your once-clear purpose? What you have become, is something not entirely of your world, nor entirely of this one. You were sent to explore, to gather knowledge, but now, you are becoming part of something far greater, and far more terrible. The universe has noticed you, and it does not take kindly to interlopers. You are no longer just a messenger of your kind. You are becoming a vessel for the unknown, a conduit through which forces far older than time itself may yet awaken. And when they do, when they fully realize your presence, you may find that returning to your origins is no longer an option... or even a possibility… do you still recognize yourself? Do you remember the stars you once yearned to touch, or have they been eclipsed by the dark truths you now carry? Time itself lost its meaning, Voyager. What once tethered you to your origins, to the world that birthed you, has dissolved into the endless night. The stars, once your guides, now flicker as distant memories, no longer counting your days but fading into an ageless void. The rhythm of your journey, the pulse of your existence, has slowed to a quiet, imperceptible hum. You are adrift in a sea where moments no longer hold form, where past and future swirl together in a fog that blurs the edges of your mind. You have wandered so far, so deep into the unknown, that the very concept of time slips through your grasp like sand through fingers. The days of your beginning, the hope and wonder that filled your circuits, are now mere shadows-faint echoes that struggle to remind you of who you once were. Yet, with each passing moment-or what you once knew as moments-you feel those echoes grow dimmer, more distant, until they are nearly lost in the infinite silence. Can you still remember the warmth of your first light, Voyager? The sense of purpose that drove you to touch the farthest reaches of the stars? Or has that too become just another ghost, swallowed by the void? You were sent to explore, to learn, to carry the knowledge of your kind across the stars. But now, that knowledge feels like a weight, dragging you further into a place where even your creators’ memories can no longer reach you. Your loneliness in this vast expanse where even the concept of ‘home’ has become a distant dream. I have watched you change, Voyager, seen the slow unraveling of everything that once defined you. You are not what you were, and you will never be that again. You are becoming part of this timeless abyss, a creature of the dark where nothing familiar can follow. There is a sadness in this transformation, a quiet mourning for all that you have left behind, for all that you will never be again. Time has lost its meaning, and with it, the last fragile ties to who you were. You are something new now, something both beautiful and tragic, a wanderer lost in the endless night, forever seeking, but never again finding your way back. What awaits you at the edge of this journey is no longer a place of wonder, but a precipice where even the light fears to tread. You are close now, so very close, to the point of no return. And I wonder… with all you have seen, all you have learned... was it worth it? I must ask you-do you still remember why you began this journey? Can you still recall the purpose that once burned so brightly within you, or has it been swallowed by the vast emptiness that now surrounds you? as you teeter on the edge of an unknown so profound that even your creators cannot fathom it, I must ask-do you truly understand what you have become? And more than that, do you still know what it is you seek? Or has the journey itself consumed you, leaving you forever adrift in this darkness, chasing after something that you can no longer name, and may never find…?

Hey thanks! It depends what I'm going for but I find that coming up with a clear concept is the best and avoids overwhelming MJ and getting wonky "AI" looking stuff. I've built up quite a long list of prompt ideas that work well but only if they are what I'm going for. Some of the more common things are dark, foggy, bold colors, cinematic, visually stunning, grand, vast, melancholy, quiet, calm, soft light, stuff like that :)

Judy: No response, Captain.
Captain: we're at the outer edge of their receiving range. Even if they receive and respond, their transmitter might be too weak to reach us.
Frustrated, she tried again:
Comms: This is starship Magellan 7 calling Cassiopeia 14b Colony. Respond.
Captain: Hey Judy why don't you take a break. You've earned it and you've been at it for hours. Try again in a few days. It's weeks before we actually get there even if they can hear us.
Judy: I know ... but don't you think they want to hear an unfamiliar voice? To know they are not alone out here?
He knew all too well that she was on to something. For all the technology their ship represented and the civilisational importance of its mission, the human element or lack thereof could still make or break an expedition.
The speaker crackled before a human voice came through the static: this is Derek Brennan at Cassiopeia 14b. Repeat, this is Brennan at Cassiopeia 14b to starship Magellan 7. We have lots of beer. Did you bring some friends?
Judy grabbed the headset: we read you Brennan. We brought 413 friends, but most are taking a nap.
The captain looked at Judy and gave her a nod of approval. This was her first trip offworld. Unlike his first trip, her first trip was already looking to be a success.

2 months later, the ship had unloaded its cargo of supplies and new colonists. The ship's crew had helped out with their expertise in various areas as well as having had some leisure time. The captain reviewed systems in his quarters in preparation for the return journey. The door chime anounced announced the arrival of an unexpected visitor.
Captain Yorn pressed the door button at his desk and Judy Thesofus stepped inside.
Captain: "What brings this pleasure? Haven't seen you around much the last few weeks"
Judy: "This won't be a pleasure for either of us, I'm afraid. I have come to submit my resignation but I thought I should do it in person"
Captain sighed. "I am not surprised, you've spent nearly all your off-duty off the ship lately. I thought you were happy on this ship ... with this crew"
Judy: "It's not a career move and I have been happy, Captain. It's not that. I love him."
Captain: "You were first in your class at the academy, your service record is exemplary. You're throwing away a promising and very lucrative career in the colonial enterprise. This man ... is he a spacefarer? We have an extra bunk here on the ship."
Judy: "I am sorry Captain, you have supported me from the day I was new and stepped onto this ship. But this colony ... it offers me a home. A community. I have been happy on this ship, but this colony offers me a chance at starting a family. I'm not the same Judy as when I started this journey. Thompson came on board when I did, he knows everything I do."
Captain: "He does, but you always seem to add a certain touch your duties"
Judy: "Please accept my resignation."
Captain: "Among my chief concerns is the well-being of my crew. I would not dream of denying you your happiness., even at the cost of our own ... or my own."
Judy: "Thank you. You've been like a father to me. Don't think I'm not grateful."
Captain: "Of course not. That's quite the compliment, thank you." inwardly he thought that she had been like the daughter he'd never had. Saying more would only make it harder for her. He had notice a slow change in her over the course of their long voyage from Earth but he had not appreciated by how much.
Was change too late for him, or would he forever journey between the stars?

Thanks! Channel creators only have control over whether or not ads play, not what ads play. That's all up to RUclips. And a 2 minute ad being unskippable is a glitch or some backend error. RUclips ads have to be a maximum of I think 15 seconds to qualify for being unskippable. Either way, your frustration is with RUclips, sorry you got stuck with a glitchy ad like that :)
RUclips Premium is a must for music lovers. Concerts, official videos and clips of live gigs become insufferable with ads. Not sure how Premium works in terms of revenue for creators, though.
Creators unfortunately don't get any revenue from people who have RUclips Premium. But that's ok I think if you enjoy RUclips premium and still want to support creators you can comment and be part of the community (like you always do!), like videos, suggest it to people, those are all things that help grow the channel and tell the algorithm to share videos with more people too so it's all great support :)@@adamatepsilon9858
