Fixing & Placing LEGO Botanical Garden Modular Building

  • Recently I built a double LEGO Botanical Garden Modular building, the model was fantastic, but the exterior was pretty crowded. Today I decided to redesign the model so that it would be better integrated into the LEGO City. I did this by giving it an additional 16 studs of space which allowed me to add detailed pathways and more flowers.

It would be cool to push the botanical gardens to the empty spot behind it, and put the farmers market in from of the botanical gardens. So mini figures can walk through the market to get to the building.

Trees don’t grow symmetrically…so having different sizes of them gives a more natural feel. Love the look of it, well done!

    • @itz_lexiii_
      @itz_lexiii_ Год назад +1

Yea this was the one thing that really bothered me, no botanical garden would have symmetrically planted species let alone plants of the exact same size. I would have loved to see some unique builds on one side compared to the other hinting at a large collection of species

  • @JackyKongD

I think you should flip the non matching trees. Put the bigger one on the side of the farm, the little one looks kinda wimpy. Plus, the building will kinda hide the smaller one

Looks much better because it's not squashed up. Looks like it has room to breath now. I wouldn't get to hung up on the symmetry. Don't forget nature doesn't follow rules. I think the two trees being in the same place but different is perfect. I'd do the same thing with some others too. eg ducks might face different ways. The group of coloured flowers at the front could have the same colours but in different in a different or to each other.

    Great effort. Love the path!
Just one thing I think the big flower pieces are not to scale with the set. Especially comparing to the tree sizes.
Great idea adding extra space. Think it can have a little boiler in the garden to add a natural feel.

It feels a little like Birch books needs a pop of color in the building. Maybe curtains in the windows upstairs, or fliers in the window below, I don't know. Just feels more like a library right now than a book store.

Nice Bricksie, good update of that garden, but did you forgot the back-doors?
You could have just done a 180 degree switch around.
How many police stations do you have, in one piece or taken apart of their parts?
There is a version that makes the police station twice as wide and another version that adds another police station as a garage building.
With six police stations, you could make a U, letting the police drive into one garage end and out the other end, in another street. (street champions scale would require a twice as wide building, for three garage lanes)
Could probably be done in a smaller scale as well.
Then there is the jail and also the radio-shed moc, which actually looks quite nice in the radio station, part.
Could a radio room work above a jail, on the backside of the police station or so?
    So yeah, start thinking, there.
What can you do, what do you want to do, what for parts have you in store and how much room do you have, that you want to spend on it?
And Bricksie, if those ladder and wagon wheel parts are still there, buy some, make your own horse drawn wagons.
Also, some of those parts, (the wheel mounting blocks), might be useful if you ever want to try and upgrade your cars to two minifig. Speed Champions, scale.

Consider keeping the botanical gardens facing the way it is now but push it back towards the other street where you have the food trucks sitting. The other street has the raised track which would block the front of the building. The building looks good from all sides but the front is the most interesting and should be seen. Then in front of the gardens have a green space/park where the farmers market would set up on the weekends.

That looks good, its definitely a different type of building that you don't see much of, i think it adds to the city.
Once the city is "done" what next, if it was me it would be a sad feeling, because well now you're done but then you would want to keep building lego etc, but what does one do, do they keep adding here and there or do they keep things as is for a while and then break stuff down and start over, that in its self would be harder to do because of all the time and effort it took to build it and it looking good

completley up to you since this is your city and not mine, but IRL i doubt a botanical garden would have symmetrical plants on the outside since most plants/flowers are grouped up so more species can be shown
