I’ll say it looked fun in the trailer, unfortunately the trailer leaves out the fact that it’s a *hold X* grind for the entire start. Even though Pokémon gameplay is pretty boring at least you go right into the promised action.
Knowing the pokemon lore this game isnt far off from how the series was supposed to be. Trainers literally used whips originally, the manga had mons getting dismembered constantly, and there were even guns in the anime. This is what it could have been. I think the big draw is this game is doing what major developers have been saying for years is not possible and it finally feels like a proper game for once
The only people playing this game are people with buyers remorse, shills, bots in china, and people easily manipulated by what they see on their screens 😂
I feel like Palworld has the potential to have some real staying power, so long as the devs don't screw it up. As stated, it does an "open-world Pokemon game" better than Pokemon. From what I've seen, progression is really nice, and while the shock humor is definitely there to draw you in, there's a lot of neat gameplay elements within it. People call it "Pokemon with Guns," but I've also heard it compared to ARK Survival crossed with Pokemon, which from what I've seen is a pretty accurate statement. Fix the bugs, give players more customization options, and maybe some more Pals and story, and Palworld could become a new major player in the market for a good while.
As a pokemon fan , i want palworld to succeed and finally make everyone realize how garbage the pokemon copany has treated its own Franchise. I will buy the game and enjoy it.
okay then, have fun with your boring and generic survival game. i played this game when it was called Ark, when it was called rust, when it was called Terraria, when it was called Starbound, and when it was called minecraft. this game isn't anything new and it seems very boring gameplay wise. also the graphics look like a wii game.
Watching the blowup of this game was insane. First it was the memes that were kinda out of context for me since I had no idea what it was, and now everyone’s been posting about it and the general idea just blows my mind. I’ve never really thought that there was a Pokémon game that blew my mind, and so it’s nice to see people who are dedicated to making a fun game rather than rebooting something every year. Cheers.
I'm surprised that the "cute thing does crimes" idea hasn't been exploited more by now. It's not like it's a new thing and it does attract people because most of the times it's done well in games.
It's kind of shocking that gaming companies won't even dare make a pokemon stylized game but when breath of wild came out we saw dozens of clones, pokemon is cheap and easy money, game freak is the living proof of that.
Curiosity, in Brazil this game is extra funny because "pal" is a slang for penis. So since the game has the word everywhere, it has become a meme in Brazil as the "Dickmon" game
We need a Palworld for every videogame, most successful companies severely stagnate and produce products for the soul reason that they are actually a game company and need to release something, anything.
"Pal" in brazilian-portuguese is the same pronunciation as "pen*s" so imagine all the dialogues about (some examples: item "Pal fluid", "did you find a big and strong Pal?", etc.)

I'm kinda sad you didn't talk about the real controversy behind the designs of the Pals, which are clear copies of already existing Pokémons and who's models seems to be taken straight from Pokémon...
They took inspiration from Pokemon, as for the game, it's closely aligned to other open world sandbox games. If they were a copy or an "fan game" then Nintendo would be gunning them down, but it doesn't happen because they have no basis or excuse t5take matters into court, instead game freak is bitching about it and people like you ,are listening to them. If the only thing that made a game to be considered a copy, then the gaming industry would have only 7 -10 games.
@@Burlapyui designs of monsters are so copied from pokemons, that you can name pokemons whose parts were torn off to create those chimeras. Huh, I like the idea of the 'Pals' having a role outside of combat. The only time I've seen anything similar with Pokemon-adjacent stuff, where you can do more than fight with your pet-friends, is Minecraft mods. Especially Pokecube's interpretation of the battle system, being in real-time and having moves usable without a combat target.
Despite being a huge Pokemon fan, I'm happy with the recognition Palworld has gotten. They deserve it. Hope this gives GameFreak the wake up call to step up their game. Also, there seems to be the start of a Pokemon Palworld divide on Reddit. Seriously, why can't Pokemon fans just learn to get along?
they wont, they didnt change when yokai watch blew up in japan and even gave pokemon a run for its money, they didnt change when other monster tamers like monster hunter stories and digimon cyber sleuth hit the scene, and they wont change cuz of palworld pokemon is too big to flop (also stop blaming gamefreak, they do not have the time or manpower to get these games up to a good standard, the blame should be on the pokemon company for being greedy)
strangly, it seems palworlds reddit is... the more aggressive? or at least are talking about it more while the reddit has a single post that essenitally says "hey nintendos doing this" with the pokemon community responding with. "well if it passes the nintendo vibe check then it passes in my book, can we please stop fighting now?"
and it’s genuinely insane that despite the incredible amount of support the game has already garnered, it’s only a beta. I thought it was just a straight rip off with bad animations at the beginning until I realized that I hadn’t even begun to explore and level up my gameplay. after about 2 hours, I was completely hooked
My guess for another reason why this game is so big and memed so much is partially because of all the jokes, memes, and parodies that hav occurred over the years ever since Pokemon has existed on the internet, including (but not limited to) some tropes and trends such as: "Pokemon But realistic", "Pokemon but with guns", PETA's Pokemon parodies, and so on and so forth with whatever wild imagination the Pokemon fandom has, as with any fandom... 😅 Palworld basically just turned those ideas and parodies into reality and so this game is going to explode with popularity futher than before! XD
Man, it's like the devs played Rimworld with a pokemon mod, saw the slavery, saw themselves killing and eating pokemon, and was like "Wait a minute, we could make a whole proper game out of this!"
What hooked me on the game was the fact that my RX570 could run it on high settings without major issues. There's nothing that kills my vibe about a game like bad optimization that like 80% of games have
Here is the best thing about this, apparently the dev team had no clue what they were doing or even how to do it. You should see the screenshot that just went around today, it’s wild and funny
For some reason i feel like Nintendo wanted to make these type of games but they are afraid of people in the internet *cough* twitter *cough* will boycott the company for animals abuse and hurting their favourite Pokémon so right now i feel like the majority of workers in Nintendo is not sueing this game and both company has a mutual agreement
As a hardcore Pokemon fan, this actually excites me. This will definitely make Gamefreak to push the franchise further. I personally think the main problem of the recent games is time, and that the Pokemon Company won't let Gamefreak invest in more time and effort to make a more polished game. But maybe since they've got strong competition now, they can convince those higher ups to let them take their time and expand their creativity.
Agreed, recent pokemon games are developed for like... 2-3 years???? And the systems are just getting more complex (from 2D to 3D open world) and the work distribution barely changes I hear as the team isn't that big. To put in perspective how ridiculous a 2 year development time is, pokemon gen 1 was developed for 6 years..... I'm surprised devs even get something done 💀
The biggest obstacle to giving Pokemon devs the time needed to make a decent game is the really, really stupid policy of keeping the mainline game releases synced up with the trading card game and the anime, neither of which is going to require the time the video games require any time soon.
It won't happen. Pokemon makes 90% of their money from the trading cards, anime, and merchandise, which needs to be new almost every single year. Gamefreak is beholden to the entire pokemon industry which isn't just games. They would have to also pause the anime, merch and cards which nintendo will never allow. Gamefreak is just a tiny part of the pokemon company.
1:34 To be fair, one is a compilation of just the bugs in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which are less than 0.1% of the gameplay and the other is perfect Palworld gameplay even though it also has bugs which arguably happen more often than in Pokemon. Half of MoistCr1TiKaL's playthrough was a bug because he was invisible. Although that's just multiplayer and Pokemon doesn't have the same level of multiplayer.

Agreed!
I’ll say it looked fun in the trailer, unfortunately the trailer leaves out the fact that it’s a *hold X* grind for the entire start. Even though Pokémon gameplay is pretty boring at least you go right into the promised action.
Something nice about the game is that it knows not to take itself too seriously. It knows its dumb and edgy, it what it is, and leans into it.
it's a gigantic yikes from me
I clicked it on Steam and the first picture was a row of sheep things holding sniper rifles. I was sold. Lmao

Got to have a look at this.
If they'll start making sequels and maybe even an anime series, truly it could rival Pokémon franchise long term.
okay then, have fun with your boring and generic survival game. i played this game when it was called Ark, when it was called rust, when it was called Terraria, when it was called Starbound, and when it was called minecraft. this game isn't anything new and it seems very boring gameplay wise. also the graphics look like a wii game.
Cheers.
The funny thing is; Palworld most likely wouldn't have had nearly as much of an impact if Pokémon didn't just stop caring about quality.
I'm surprised that the "cute thing does crimes" idea hasn't been exploited more by now. It's not like it's a new thing and it does attract people because most of the times it's done well in games.

Game Freak will never make a game like Palworld; they're too worried about keeping Pokémon's family-friendly image.
@@onebear6504 They are developed for in almost all recent cases less than 1 single year
It won't happen. Pokemon makes 90% of their money from the trading cards, anime, and merchandise, which needs to be new almost every single year. Gamefreak is just a tiny part of the pokemon company.
