I've always been aware of the inadvisability of sitting for long stretches--even at work: frequent walks to the XEROX or mails rooms and taking the long way back to my desk. Now retired, I do not sit for hours reading, watching TV, or at my laptop: I either get up and do portions of exercises or housework. This routine's a brainstorm, April. I can do these exercises in Sunday, my no exercise day, or while watching TV when a program is too exciting to pause. It's great as a really simple and quick before coffee first-thing-in-the morning starter. GREAT!...Anastasia

Another winner! A suggestion for a future video if you have time please: A Coordination Workout - maybe using a ball or a very light weight - that mentally challenges us to perform different movements in different ways. Things we wouldn't do normally - kinda like tapping your head and rubbing your tummy at the same time :) There are several of them on RUclips but they're not you and Mom! You always invent unique moves for us seniors to do to keep us healthy. Thanks for that - - -

This is timely for me, because I just booked a train trip heading to Halifax, NS (home) for early April, to visit my mom. The train is a long haul (the better part of two days) and involves a transfer at one point, so these stretches will help! 🙂 (I booked a sleeper cabin for the Montreal-Halifax, then Halifax-Montreal part, though! LOL.)

I can't help but give you a piece of advice (sorry, I'm not a professional or something like that, just travel a lot; so you may as well ignore it): I personally found it very useful to synchronize rhythm of the exercises with breaths. And do the exercises about 30% slower too.

I often fly 10 1/2 hr flight to Israel to see family, and often fly at midnight. I hate to walk around, because most of the passengers are sleeping and I fear waking them up by walking around. I myself have an awful time trying to sleep while flying!. So these exercises are GREAT for me to do ...and maybe they will help me in falling asleep;
Wow! That is a long flight and know it's not easy to walk around but at least stand up and stretch and exercise the muscles in your legs and body! The other passengers will be asleep and won't even notice your movements! 😉Besides, the health of your body is important too! You could try the head turns with your eyes closed and perhaps your neighbour wouldn't feel you were staring. And if it bothered them, you wouldn't know!
