They were both so close in sound I couldn't tell any difference. Both sounded great to me on that Beautiful trac.❤

Hello my friend! Thanks for you fine video, respect! I am hoping you might be able to give me some advice. I recently received a1980, NIB Technics SL-1200 from a family member. It was purchased with another unit with the intent to be used for DJing. However only one ever made it into use with the DJ career abandoned for various reasons. The headshell, cartridge and stylus are missing. I am NOT an audiophile, FYI. I am hoping you might suggest what headshell, cartridge and stylus I should purchase? I’m sort of looking at the Ortofon Red? Appreciate your thoughts, without breaking the bank of course! Cheers

Wzup, A Toiler, thanks for checking out the video. The Ortofon Red is not a bad choice, I have a few questions, if you don't mind...Do you have any valuable or rare vinyl that you will be used for playback and how frequently will you have listening sessions. Also, what type of system (preamp/mixer/audio interface) will you use for your listening experience?

Hi. Do you know if it's possible to use the Ortofon Scratch on the Audio Technica AT-LP120X?

Hello, can I use the AT for mixing, for example cueing up the records?

Wzup Jason, I am not an expert but my understanding is that spherical should be used for mixing. In general, elliptical stylus like the AT are great for audio quality but you may find that you will need to frequently back-cue while mixing, which may introduce unintentional wear on your stylus and or records. Your favorite vinyl may be damaged due to cue burn over time. Not to say it won't happen with spherical but I would imagine it would be a lot quicker with the AT. The AT also has about 300hrs of use overall, so I would not recommend it and reserve the AT for general use/playback. I would probably recommend the Reloop OM Black for mixing due to the low price, good sound (note: 20hz-22khz) , and low record wear. Let me know your thoughts. Best of luck.

@@XFaderz thanks for the long and detailed response. It makes sense what you are saying so I will go for your recommendation, just a quick question... Do I need to order the headshell for these or can I use my old stanton ones? I have technics 1200. Thanks.

NP...I believe the Stanton headshell will work fine.

AT sounds better on highs imo. They are basically indistinguishable on my ldac headphones
