What I love about this content is you get the see the raw emotions of running a business. Hardships and struggles are common, and Daniel has no intentions of hiding that. A reminder that we're capable of much more than we think.
16:00 On a serious note, I had a car accident a few years ago and had nerve damage in my neck and back all the way to numbness in my hands and legs. My doctors recommended stem cell therapy with steroid injections. Partially due to my size and partially due to the nerve damage being with the physical. I did my research to a degree (I trust my doctors) and it was the option that had the highest benefit with the least amount of catastrophic negatives. Now two years after the end of my therapy it's like the accident never happened, your results may vary obviously but it is an option, it's just going to probably be the most expensive one. But then what is your physical well being worth.
Hi Daniel, There is an American veteran named Crispy who was severely injured on an overseas deployment and has lived in agony with his injuries for years. He recently did a RUclips video on SC treatments in Columbia and raved about the success it had on his quality of life. Well worth a watch if you're considering going that way. Thanks for the video too. Cheers
The banter between mr Odonovan & Daniel is choice ,what a brilliant friendship ,greetings from Barbados 🌴😎⛳️well done and I’m not in the yard !!! Love the content Daniel ,looking forward to your program ,all the best
Very true what you are saying at the end, tomorrow is promised to no one and the need for business to diversify and for us as people to continue learning is paramount. Another great video, keep them coming
I am retired but previously ran my own business. You must opt for the three year policy . You can take risks with futuristic decisions but not day to day ones . Minimise the risk as much as possible, even if it costs more.
Stem cell treatment is the real deal and very cutting edge. Our Dog (yes I know, but the process is the same) it was 7.5 million stem cells per joint and the improvements were amazing. I mean unreal.
Dan, honestly hats off to you. You’re a massive inspiration and i have been watching your content for awhile. I look up to you, you’re a massive inspiration! you and the team work very hard, keep up the great work and content. Pleasure to watch 🤘🏾🤘🏾
Daniel be careful taking a 3 year deal on your vehicle insurance. In my experience (25+ in commercial insurance) the only people who benefit is the insurance companies because you’re tied to them for 3 years, BUT as far as I’m aware they can still increase the rate per vehicle every year at renewal.
Dan look for “delete my wiper” it’s a big thing in the Volkswagen car scene… they sell a small circular glass that’ll look much cleaner and neater for Flows vehicle (it costs pennies btw)
Hi Daniel. great video. Why not go for 10Gbe rather than thunderbolt - much better longterm and probably not as expensive. Btw, have you looked at NFU insurance - they do our farm and couldn't be better warriors on our behalf! Love your videos and your openness. Learn so much from you- shame i am retired and won't be using it for myself.
Hey Daniel. It might be worth getting in touch with someone like Adam Meakins. He's a UK based physiotherapist who has specialised experience in shoulder management. I know that he stays across the best current evidence around pain and injury management so it could be helpful to discuss treatment options with him. I really appreciate your content and the work you put in - keep it up!
Hey Daniel, been driving XC60 for the past 2 years - love it. Super comfortable, interior is awesome, driving is nice and still in love with it each time I look at it parked. Great car. Probably too simple for you. One downside is that there is this thinking that Volvo are dads' cars :))
If you take the back off the boot of flos car you can remove the entire window wiper mechanism and put a rubber gromet in the hold, looks much cleaner and stops mechanism getting rusted 👌👌
For your injury you should try "Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy: Using Your Own Blood to Heal" basically they take your own blood put it in a centrifuge spin it up and take the white and clear parts the parts that repair out of it and inject it at the injury site. It is newer technology. It's used by professional athletes to recover from injuries faster and promote healing. But, I would see it only as a stop gap until you can get the stem cell stuff lined up etc. But it should help in the mean time.
Hi Daniel, love your channel watched you from the beginning keep seeing you returning to my town in Spain. I have a building company here with lorries diggers building new builds and reforms. I would love to show you around here. Thanks Chris
I think that was his plan when buying land in St Lucia. Daniel was going to have the penthouse in Ashville Heights. I think his ideas have since changed and iirc he was looking for another parcel of land. I can't see him building from scratch in London. He has an apartment there which must cost an absolute fortune and then to pay for garaging for two vehicles as well, its such a lot of money. To build on his own land he would need to come away from the Heathrow area so as to get his money worth of land but then it would mean a longer commute into work.
You should look into Samsara. Your insurance should cut you costs since it is implementing safety and a CYA move when it comes to anyone claiming it was one of your vehicles. I’m sure you know about it but seriously my uncles company C.A.C industries in NYC use it and got a huge kickback with insurance
An XC 60 would be much nicer and better than any Land Rover Daniel. For a man in your position its an XC90 you need. Love your channel and the banter with O'Donovan keep up the great work, regards, Liam in Cork. Ohh thats where Mike is from West Cork cowboy territory😂
Daniel is looking after an image. Even if he wanted an Xc90, it would not be a clever move to be seen in one regardless of the car quality. I doubt that Urban would touch a XC with a barge pole
Wow your a proper work horse you need to steady down a bit and watch what your eating if your have Joint problems just saying. Your attitude and ability is outstanding and I wish you every success love watching the vids thanks.
Hopefully your acoustic glazing is 8.8 lami tough inside with 4mm lami tough on outer Probably better with aluminium frames given the over all sizes as well as colour which would be better for expansion and contraction on those hot summer days especially if south facing
Regarding your shoulder. Hook up with Eddie Hall for advice. Professional strongmen have had to rehabilitate them selves whilst maintaing their strength lots. Eddie has used stemcell treatment too. Your in pain, your body is saying stop rest and repair. take it easy..
Curious why your NAS is using thunderbolt 4. Does it not have a 2.5gig port or even a few 1 gig ports? A 2.5 gig switch is gonna allow a lot more expansion than thunderbolt.
"40Gbps" tf do you mean youre curious. You think a 4k video editing office is gonna be running off a shared single 2.5g line? lmfao They each need a dedicated TB4 cable, each. Not sharing 2.5 lmfao.
Realistically they're doing 4K video, so minimum they want to do is get 10Gbps network on it - at that point, there's not much cost increase for thunderbolt and then you get 40Gbps to each device (okay the drives won't do that, but it's still better).
@@mememachine5244 the files aren't that big it's not like they are shooting raw, there's still GoPro and phone footage in there and they are also not necessarily editing live on the NAS it may just be purely backup. You definitely don't need 40gig for a setup that small even 10 is probably overkill for their workload but would provide plenty of room for expansion.
@@alexanderbuckland the drives will do nowhere near that for multiple editors, it's a tiny little qnap setup, I mean it's not got enough physical bays for a start, I'm definitely thinking it's not got 2 parity drives and a cache drive which is why I assumed they were just using it as a backup rather than editing live on it.
Daniel, stem cell is worth it. My local health authority here in London, Ontario, Canada (which also has a world renown medical research division, along with a world class university in the city, that has a top 10 (9th) overall ranking worldwide by The Times) has an entire stem cell transplant division. I've known people to be treated with stem cells, they can't say enough good things.
Daniel, love your videos. However, believe you have made a error on the betterment of triple glazing over double. The best double glazing you can get is at 1.2w/m2. Triple glazing can go down from 0.8w/2. The betterment is greater than 10%. Triple glazing when I purchase is not 50% greater in cost to double glazing. In fact it can be cheaper than double glazing 🙂Keep up the great video content!
@5:44 Daniel, regarding the QNAP TVS-h1288x, I'd recommend going with a 10Gbe card over Thunderbolt 3/4 for expansion. Though TB 3/4 boasts theoretical speeds up to 4 times faster than 10Gbe, the real-world difference might be less impactful. To illustrate, a 20GB file would transfer in 16 seconds over 10Gbe and just 4 seconds over TB4. However, achieving such speeds requires optimal conditions. Both the QNAP and the receiving PC would need ultra-fast M.2 (NVMe) storage. 10Gbe offers speeds of 1.25GBps (or 1280MB/sec) which aligns with most NVMe speeds. On the other hand, TB4 offers 5GBps (or 5120MB/sec), which surpasses most standalone NVMe drives unless you're using a high-end RAID 0 setup. It's worth noting that Apple's new M1-based systems (M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max) come with NVMe drives capable of read/write speeds around 3000MB/sec. The primary storage of the QNAP is 3.5” spinning hard disks that utilize SATA. These typically max out at about 500MB/sec. The QNAP does have 2.5” SSD bays, but even if they are faster, they're still bound by the SATA 6Gbps standard, capping them at around 600MB/sec. Given the QNAP's use of the ZFS file system, it's doubtful you'd fully exploit a TB4 connection's potential. For cost-effectiveness and real-world utility, I'd suggest opting for the 10Gbe expansion. You can get a 10Gbe card and a compatible cable for around $200 combined.
Buy a rear window wiper delete kit for that fez and get ya fotter to swap it out. Make it look much cleaner and not like someones stole ya wiper blade 👍🏻
You’re being tucked up on windows. Talk to Clivnars in Herts. UPVC is limited on glazing size. You need PC Ally frames. Look at triple glazing for noise cancelling, I do a lot for BAA near Heathrow, total silence. Do it right or go home.
Comedy gold of the meal Ashville are making of a simple domestic 100A supply. Proof they really shouldn't be taking on electrical jobs. It's a 5 minute calculation for an electrical engineer. Similarly with the NAS drive issues. This is what happens when inexperienced people make purchasing decisions - kind of a concern when they're designing high end home network installations
About the shoulder. Is there a reason why you (Daniel) keep lifting weights? Possibly removing free weights and incorporating calisthenics to your regiment could help your shoulder. Talking to gymnasts and dancers could provide a more desirable outcome.
Can we please have an inside on the skip bin side of the company ... How much percentage do it adds to the business? where does the wastage go to? Who in the comapny is in charge of that department? insurance is a way to manage risk, so if having a £2M RTC means you cannot trade next year (as you are now uninsurable) then a one year deal is looking pretty awful to manage said risk. The devil is always in the details so have a solicitor review the policy
Mate just plug your QNAP NAS into a network switch then you can just plug all your computers into the switch and run it over the network. Don't need every computer plugged into the NAS directly
Stem cell tech is, uh, “experimental” at best. I’d be concerned at getting that sort of treatment as it will be extremely expensive but also right now there isn’t a lot of evidence from studies to demonstrate positive outcomes. Perhaps in the future, 10-15 years down the line, it will be more reliable…
