    I just flew in the brand new #1 C919 between Shanghai and Chengdu on 11/22 and 11/28. I found it very similar to AB A320neo. Much quiter than Boeing 737-800 and sleeker roomier. More legroom for me at 5'10". Bathroom definitely feel roomier than that on a B737. Headrest and tray table both are comfortable and nicely design. The service and meal on China Eastern is very much like those on an international flight. ❤❤❤

    Nice video, Josh! Just like is the case with electronics, it is not possible to have an aircraft with all parts manufactured by the same design organization, or by factories within the same country. This happened in the past, specifically with Soviet-built aircraft but it does not happen anymore. Just check out the 787, it has bits manufactured in Spain, Japan, U.K, etc. The Sukhoi Superjet has Italian-manufactured engines.
    The COMAC is Chinese-designed and certified (initially). That is all that matters. Having components manufactured in other parts of the world does not make it a "foreign" aircraft. Aviation Safety is something the Chinese take very seriously and statistically, they have one of the safest airspaces in the world.
    When aviation accidents happen, it may not necessarily be a fault with the equipment. It could be caused by several other organizational and/or human factors.
    Would I fly the COMAC? Definitely yes!

    • @mingouczjcz3800
      @mingouczjcz3800 Год назад +10

      @@mingouczjcz3800 I don't think that will be the case for aircraft manufacturing. All commercial aircraft, from Boeing to Airbus , are made of parts from various suppliers because of the economics of scale and the need to satisfy the IATA requirements . It is also not economically viable for a single company making all the parts by itself. The competition is in design and specifications. Only military planes are made totally from scratch by local companies because the cost is not important and they don't need to meet the IATA specifications.

    This is just awesome on every level. China has really hit the milestones these last 30 years.
    2nd biggest economy in the world.
    Launched their own GPS constellation Baidu.
    The first nation to have a sole space station (without collaborating with other nations) in orbit, the Tiangong.
    Have their own home grown commerical jet airliner in service.
    Be the first to land a rover on the dark side of the moon.
    The second nation to land a rover on Mars.
    I think I have most of the amazing achievements.
    I'm so proud of the motherland and I wish it more good fortune!

    • @henrytan7952
      @henrytan7952 7 месяцев назад

      "The f̶i̶r̶s̶t̶ third nation to have a sole space station (without collaborating with other nations) in orbit, the Tiangong."
      The first was the former USSR with the Salyut in 1971 and the second being USA's Skylab of 1973. But yes, it currently has the only independent orbital space station.
      "Be the first to land a rover on the d̶a̶r̶k̶ far side of the moon."
      The short of it is: the Moon faces the Earth during the two weeks it reflected the sunlight to Earth. As it revolves around the Earth, it also rotates on its own axis. Therefore, the far side faces the Sun while it's unseen from Earth for the next two weeks.
      "The second nation to land a rover on Mars."
      Right, and i'll expand on it. The first rover was the USA's Sojourner in 1976 and China did it in 2021 with Tianwen 1. However, China was the first to have done it 3-in-1: ie orbiter, lander and rover all in one go rather than separate missions.
      For further information, the former USSR conducted the first successful Mars Landing, in 1971, but the lander (without rover onboard) failed after less than 2 minutes.
      You're welcome!
