What I love about the way you make recipe videos is you explain the why of each step - it really helps for learning how to cook confidently, rather than just being able to follow a recipe :)
I was thinking about subscribing to Calm.or Headspace but I'm pretty sure this works. Hopefully when I wake up I'll be ready to make dumplings. Great Vid. Ty
Adam, I love your show and have been wanting to see you cook some vegetarian options as we are a low meat household. Thank you for putting out a veggie recipe! More please!
After watching this video, I tried making dumplings with wholemeal for the very first time and oh boy, I was shocked how good it turned out, esp with making potsticker method. My 8yo son kept asking for more at the same time saying”it’s so good”!!!!I never thought of making the wrappers with wholemeal. Thanks so much Adam for sharing this recipe.
Thank you so much for being so thorough but especially for doing a vegan dumpling. Greatly appreciated. I'll make some soon because I've been missing making dumplings since going vegan.
Hi Adam. I love your videos. Very clear instructions and nice tips like the protein net and how to roll and fold the skin. I'll definetly try this one. It is time consuming but omg the pleasure afterward is well worth the effort. Thanks
China has so long history of having vegan/vegetarian food! Thank you so much for spreading the culture! This recipe is one of lots of different veggie dumpling flavours we like to have! So yummy 😋
Have to admire his knowledge and improvise on veg' potstickers. The cabbages part was so on point I would love to share with all the restaurants I had visited before who made soggy plain potstickers with crazy price tag.
Glad you're back. We're definitely meat eaters in our house, but we try to eat vegetarian once or twice a week for our health/the environment/bank accounts. This recipe is highly appreciated!
I'm so happy you have another video out! Thanks for making these Adam, they're always such high quality and the recipes are so easy to follow. Going to try this recipe as soon as I'm able to get some of these ingredients (a bit trickier for me right now due to lockdown restrictions)
Some great ideas here. I just made my first vegan pot stickers yesterday and think I will incorporate some of your ideas next time. I also love the production on your video. It is totally professional.
Bloody hell, first video I've watched on this channel and this dude can use a cleaver better than I ever could use a regular kitchen knife. Sick cleaver skills earned you another subscriber heh~
Thank you Adam, I'm your fan never missed any of your video. I love this recipes you taught us not to used cabbage and tofu for filling, you're are correct because they don't bring any favors to the dumpling, bravo for saving the soaked mushrooms water to used for dumpling dough 👍👍👏👏 I'll make this today you inspired me so much ❤️👍
So grateful I have so many Asian markets near my home😁. I even grow my own garlic chives in my garden. These look so yummy. Leave out woodear mushrooms🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺. They are my favorite for texture in Asian cooking. I’ve been known to have uptown 3 bags of dried ones at a time just so that I won’t run out.
Fitting for me to be learning from a video series called “Dumpling School,” because this is the same name I’ve been using for me taking online classes in my quarantine body.
I use almost similar vegies when I make mine. Not beans though. I use paneer, cabbage, dry mushroom and cauliflower - all roughly shredded. Unlike Adam, I use uncooked fillings and cook with the skins. That way, it becomes more juicer.
Thank your for bringing back dumpling school. I will be making these along with the basic dumpling next time we have a family gathering when that is possible again. How do you feel about adding corn for flavor and texture. I don't know if that is a traditional filling. My wife loves corn so I might try it.
I applaud your honesty about not wanting to keep going in an area that you have a waning interest in. I only have one question, what do you eat for Christmas?
@Adam, I've really enjoyed so much of what you're doing but as a celiac, in a family of celiacs, I need some gluten free options. Are there any rice flour dumplings or something?
Hi Mr Liaw, Sorry the question is no video related, but can you please tell me how to make a proper tare and oil for a beef ramen or Gyumen, it is quite uncommon in Japan and only ate it at one place, but it was quite good and tasted like the soups my Mom used to make when i was a kid. thanks and good videos, they are quite well done in explaining things in a simple way not confusing and clean.
The point you make about not including cabbage I think is crucial. While I've only made dumplings a handful of times (all vegetarian), the first time I did so I used cabbage as it was in most dumpling recipes and I was really underwhelmed. Since then I've made them using a similar recipe to this, with leeks, mushrooms etc and they were leagues better.
Hi Adam. Think my comment went to next video 🙂.. Anyway..Loved these..can't wait to TRY (haha) to make them. Question..I noticed guy used a reusable cover for the dough..what a great item to have to save plastic use..where did you get it from.. Thanks again . I just enjoy watching your videos so much Xxx
Yum!! Thank you for sharing this! This reminds me of the dumpling at the vegetarian shop at Create Healthy Lifestyle 創意天然生機飲食 in Singapore. This looks delicious.
I've been watching your videos for a while and have a serious question about veg potstickers. I'm seeing recipes with both cooked and uncooked veg and the main difference I've noted is the use of TVP (textured vegetable protein). Does the TVP absorb the water from the vegetables as they cook in the filling? Is that why most recipes that use it skip the cooking stage and just go straight to wrapping?
Great! I'm having a vegetarian friend over for dinner and was looking for a jiaozi recipe and it's exactly like you say - I found tons of tofu and cabbage versions and thought "man that sounds bland" :D thanks a lot for this version, I will try it out right away! :)
13:34 "New frames need analyzing; click Analyze" Great video, very zen. Love your content as always. The last part of the video just needs a little tidy up in your video editing software.
What I love about the way you make recipe videos is you explain the why of each step - it really helps for learning how to cook confidently, rather than just being able to follow a recipe :)
Amazing! All the tips to overcome the absence of meat are genius... More plant based recipes please!
I was thinking about subscribing to Calm.or Headspace but I'm pretty sure this works. Hopefully when I wake up I'll be ready to make dumplings. Great Vid. Ty
This guy changes my fealings into "Happy mode" every time. Adam you are magical.

oh my gosh Adam I am so sad that I have discovered you only today, but I am so happy that I have discovered you just today!
Nice to have you back!

Glad you're back. We're definitely meat eaters in our house, but we try to eat vegetarian once or twice a week for our health/the environment/bank accounts. This recipe is highly appreciated!

It seems like you put a lot of thought into this particular recipe. I respect that.

Please teach us how to make Xiaolongbao / soup dumplings :) I can't get good ones on the East coast of the US, and I'd love to see your take.
This video couldn't have come at a better time. Just as I was wondering how to make vegetarian dumplings!
💖💖💖 Appetite, like ingredients, is both seasonal and cyclical.
Thanks so much for this video. I hope you and yours are all safe and healthy.
Very cool to see you use a beeswax wrap instead of plastic wrap!

Best chef in the world!
Hey just out of curiosity, will you be making a video on Ramen noodles or noodles in generel? Love your videos and recipes.
The point you make about not including cabbage I think is crucial.

I canvt tell you where he got it from but it's a beeswax paper (I don't know the correct English name) . Maybe this will help you find them :)
Thank you thank you for making a vegetarian receipe. Trying to eat more plant based. Going to try this one out!
Yum!! Thank you for sharing this! This reminds me of the dumpling at the vegetarian shop at Create Healthy Lifestyle 創意天然生機飲食 in Singapore. This looks delicious.
Can you share where you bought your cleaver?
yes! dumpling school again!!!!
Adam, could you share what background music you are using for this video? Thanks
Adam which cast iron frypan do you use?
I am going to give it a try, hope they turn out like yours?

Would you steam/fry a meat filled dumpling like jiaozi the same way, or should I add more water and steam longer?
just know that trick at 11:50, to make the dumpling color become brown. thank you!
Great! I'm having a vegetarian friend over for dinner and was looking for a jiaozi recipe and it's exactly like you say - I found tons of tofu and cabbage versions and thought "man that sounds bland" :D thanks a lot for this version, I will try it out right away! :)
5:45 👍
Is there any difference to cooking besides basic methods for a fried dumpling? Can ya fry any dumpling or just certain ones?
Can these dumplings also be frozen for future meals? Thank you!
U got me into Asian food thanks so much

Great video, very zen. Love your content as always. The last part of the video just needs a little tidy up in your video editing software.

Hello 👋 did you try the recipes?
Hello Chef Adam new subscriber here. I just would like to ask the difference between dumpling and wanton.
You the man adam
Thanks so much for the wholemeal wrapper recipe! I get a bit sick of the white flour wrappers.
Yaaaayyyy he ate one!!! 😄🙌🏼💕🥟

0:57 saw that black fungus don't want to separate from his friends fungus.. :D

How did the kitchen not turn into a hellfire inferno, when pouring the water into the hot oil? Serious question.
Sounds delicious🍴
