The "SEGA!" at the end of their multi-game announcement that was reminicent of their old commercials was a nice touch.
It makes me hopeful that maybe Sega has finally realised that they have some amazing franchises that they’ve been sitting on for years that have been dormant, but I really hope they don’t mess it up with golden ax. I have no qualms that streets of rage is going to be awesome. I love part four so please say don’t mess things up..
YOU'RE. a nice touch...
Who pissed Sega off to the point they pulled out Golden Axe?!
Probably all these acquisition rumor
Death=Adder
god i hope they pull out skies of arcadia and billy hatcher with the "and more"
Probably they pissed off of their own games
@@richrod0122 most likely the correct answer
The Sega announcement was strangely the highlight of the whole show, and I am not even a huge Sega guy... but I was hoping for a Dreamcast 2 or mini system... this is pretty close
I'd be right there day one if Sega released a Dreamcast successor.
Yeah, the whole show was kind of meh, this was the best announcement for me, along with monster hunter but we all knew they were working on a sequel so no big surprise there.
What If it could be an independent video game console just like Atari
Sega are not even that good anymore I’m a fan of Sega’s past of what they used to be outside of sonic, streets of rage and golden axe. I couldn’t care less about their other IPs it’s all about Nintendo for me. When Sega’s announcement is the highlight of what was a crappy award show you know it was bad.
Omg the only thing I can keep thinking about is what Sega showed. That blew my mind!!! Dreaming of a Dreamcast 2!!!! Pleeeeeaaaase!!!!!
Glad to see Pikmin get best strategy game. They never get mentioned critically and they have such creativity for it to go unnoticed
So happy that franchises like Pikmin, Kirby and Metroid got recognized at TGA these last couple of years.
Josie will be happy
To be fair, there was zero competition in that category. It kinda won by default. Not to undersell it or anything.
Its a shame it didnt get best family game totally deserved that one too
The audience response too! Clearly a crowd favorite.
I'm just glad we finally got Jet Set Radio :)
That was a pleasant shocker can't wait for the release
I hope they shy away from the live service model for it.
@@stygiansage2661they wont
They needed to give more awards on stage and let recipients say more. I can't believe they didn't give the best Indie game an acceptance speech. Those developers Need that publicity and deserved it.
You forgot the part where Reggie teleported on stage from a swarm of locusts and announced the Switch 2
Nice joke and it didn’t happen. LOL.
Sega was worth it.
Visions of Mana is the best announcement for me. I didn't even grow up with Secret of Mana, but the Trials remake was great. I love the light-hearted and playful style, and the combat and job systems are a lot of fun.
It was nice of Microsoft to host the game awards at their showcase.
Now imagine how more obvious it would be for when Xbox finally buys Sega.
The game reveal I'm interested in is Exodus from Archetype Entertainment because of Drew Karpyshyn. Drew was the lead writer for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect 1 & 2. The head of the studio is James Ohlen who was the Senior Creative Director of BioWare.
I AM VERY EXCITED for a new Crazy Taxi, don´t think I ever played any other arcade game that much, LOVE it.
Yes!!! Crazy taxi was at the burger joint we went to growing up, I played it a ton
World of Goo has been one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time ever since I first played it 12 years ago. It's probably my second favorite game of all time (right after Celeste) and I replay it at least once every year.
I can't believe that the teaser at the end of the first game is finally paying off 15 years later…
This totally caught me by surprise and still is my most hype announcement of the show.
Looks like me going to see Godzilla Minus One was a better way to spend the evening.
One of the best movies of the year and it's in running for best vfx at the oscars too
Yes very much so....the stream I was watching was thinking about shutting down early because it was so boring.
Saw minus one a couple days ago. Good enough that I would have considered going back to the theater to see it again instead of this.
I wouldn't ever argue against seeing a great movie over watching a long-ass game award show, but Geoff did a decent enough job. I'll be seeing Godzilla Minus One as soon as possible though, that's for sure.
Kudos to Sony. Support the people that support you and you will always have a winning strategy.
Bravo Sony, bravo 👏
Metaphor, No Rest For The Wicked, Light No Fire, and Persona 3 Reload were all highlights for me.
What's super surprising is that Capcom didn't advertise Dragons Dogma which comes out in March.
The over dose trailer had me so intrigued, the facial reaction and lighting on the eyes looked amazing
I'm reading online that Baldur's gate 3 shadow dropped on Xbox series, but no mention was made?? It's OUT AND CONFIRMED
COMIX ZONE needs to be done in HAND DRAWN 2D.
I mean, seriously, it's such a match made in heaven
The Sega announcements and the DB Sparking Zero gameplay made it for me!
Same 😊
right. the sega announcement made me jump outta my seat lol
As an Xbox player I couldn’t be happier. More and more keeps coming our way in the roadmap ahead!
The Game Awards was pretty great overall, was good seeing Sega bringing back Golden Axe/Streets Of Rage and others.
Thanks for hosting the TGA stream as usual between yourself and a lot of the Spawncast. Even the elusive Nate got to stop by... *his mic was too loud lol*
I didn’t mind how long the show it was, it was all about video games and I’m here for it
SEGA is back!! 🌀
We just need a new Ristar and Nights as well, and I'll be completely happy.
And sega rally
We have to wait and see if the games are good first.
@@Noname15514 let us sega fans have this moment 😆
Temper those expectations as little for now. Need a new Sega shiny box announcement before we really start losing our minds.
Someone at Sega stopped doing coke and switched to good old devils lettuce about time bros about time
Hate how we still skim some categories like best OST. Like seriously, you have an orchestra and multiple live performances and then we spend 20 seconds in that category?
Sega Shinobi caught my interest. 😎
I was really disappointed Fire Emblem didn't get best strategy game, and even more bummed TotK didn't get GOTY. Two of my absolute favorite games. Maybe I am biased since I am a huge fan of both series, but I truly believe these games are special. Especially Zelda.
I think Pikmin 4 did a lot more for its respective series than Fire Emblem Engage, which is an extremely polished and mechanically brilliant entry, but not too impressive or innovative. As for Zelda I need to play about 100 more hours before I can make any judgments because BG3 is one amazing game. It's a tough comparison.
@@axogreen876 And why would a game need to be impressive and innovative? Can't it just be a good game?
That's why I'm not taking these awards seriously anymore. BG3, being in the horrific state that it's in, in terms of bugs, performance issues and a dissapointing Act 3 absolutely should not have gotten GOTY. Even if those issues didn't exist, it's just not as good as Zelda. That game broke records this year that haven't been beaten.
TOTK was robbed of a rightful GOTY. I feel horrible for Aonuma.
I’m honestly really glad Pikmin 4 won an award!
PEAKWIN
Well deserved for sure! It lived up after a 10 year wait and there's literally nothing else in the industry like it.
Im glad Nintendo at least won 1 award.
The show was incredible to me. A regarding actual things revealed, DBZ, monster Hunter, golden axe, visions of mana, crazy taxi, Rise of Ronin, and more!
Xbox showed out today. Their lineup is looking ridiculous at this point.
The Sega announcement was too good to be true
Sega won’t mess up with Streets of Rage because a good team are working on that game, as for the rest I’m not hopeful, especially after the last time Sega tried to reboot golden axe. I’m hopeful that it’s Jet Grind Radio though. At least it wasn’t blasted Sonic at least, Sega finally realised they have other IPs besides Sonic.
Xbox and Sega saved the show. Now imagine when Xbox finally buys Sega. Xbox gonna be very dominant
@@RUclipsCensors Xbox has no chance against Nintendo even if they buy Sega cos Nintendo is the king plus Xbox is leaving the console market and Sony is destroying itself with bad decisions leaving Nintendo to rule and save gaming from itself.
No Rest For The Wicked is very, very much on my radar. It looks awesome.
I am absolutely can't wait for Blade. It's easily my most anticipated game from the game awards!
they shoulda based the design off wesleys snipes blade, that gun dont look right either, but hope its good
@@deeplaysgaming4754right. Wesley Snipes is Blade imo
Can't believe you glance over Hellblade 2 with "they didn't give us a date" and that's it. That trailer was absolutely incredible.
It doesn't matter, everyone knows the game will be incredible, people don't care, people need a release date and nothing else
He’s a Xbox hater that’s why
Thank you for the summary Jon/John! This is hype!
No one noticed the magnificent Streets of Rage in the Sega announcement...😮
Moster Hunter Wilds is what made the event for me. Also, Congrats to BG3 for winning! My pick is Totk but damn the games are amazing!
Baldur's Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 were the two best games this year by far imho. I'm glad that the two of them got five and three awards respectively!
Thank God this is over, now instead of seeing everyone argue about who will win, it's everyone arguing about who should have won.
@thefessor They do have physical copies, but they came out after the launch.
@@eye-of-omega It's the game awards show, not the console peasant showcase. Whether a game is available physically or not, which it will on console, should have no bearing on eligibility for awards. Most PC games have been digital only for almost 20 years now.
@wordsdistorted "the Console Peasants Showcase?" So I guess everyone with a console now is just a peasant in comparison to your superior equipment then? Alan Wake 2 IS a digital-only game from Remedy and Epic being sold to console players. Don't come in here with that trolling know it all BS trying to "put someone in their place" so you can feel better about your day.
@@KENGAR89 yawn.
@@wordsdistorted 🤣
The best part was judge talking shit about call of duty right out of the gate lmao
That recent Wukong trailer is actually the first time we've seen it in English (proper logo and dub), I believe. Not bad!
I find out odd on how Sega announced their games the way they did. Usually it would be in the form of a showcase with each game getting their own dedicated trailer. Imagine Nintendo not doing a direct and just release a minute long trailer montage of all their announced games.
They were all old games remade so we know what they'll play like. They just needed some eyes on it
That could still happen. The announcement was hype though.
@@TheFondalizerThey aren't remade, they're new games in the series or reboots. Some completely different from their original gameplay styles
I agree. It's good these classics are coming back, but putting everything together feels... weird.
Sega has been struggling to find their way the last 25 years. This is their way of going back to their roots and rebooting
Seeing more of Metaphor and hearing that Sega is making Crazy Taxi and other games were the highlights for me. A good event!
Oh man am I glad I didn't bother watching the game awards and instead waited until reviews and discussions came out.
I'm gonna have to do that next year. 7:30-11 was overkill.
I enjoy watching introverts have a microphone in their face when it’s obvious they aren’t extroverted. 🤝 🍿
It’s an awards show that actually shows humans, not celebrities/fakes. I appreciate the imperfections.
What's the first part even supposed to mean?
@@NuiYabukoits not rocket Science
Otoh, some of the more celebrity-ish award presenters were pretty cringe, rambling on forever, laughing at their own jokes, pausing for reactions that didn't come...
@@markxv2267 It quite obviously is, since OP doesn't seem to know what an introvert is.
Jurassic Park with gameplay elements of tomb raider and Alien: isolation is just amazing. I cannot wait for a release date.
I don't like the fact that you have to play as a boring female protagonist.
@@Noname15514 I am sure women say the same thing with Cal Kestis and Cloud and etc. If you want to make a better game cough up billions of dollars for us....
..Oh wait
@@Noname15514Yeah, i hope you can choose your own character, i don't feel like playing as a diversity hire.
@@RazorO2Productions Cloud is actually a great character, so is Tomb Raider, but this character looks like it's there just to check some boxes, it's a shame or society has come to that.
@@Noname15514why don't you want to RP as a cougar in the ancient wilderness? Find out the true alpha predator?😂
Hellblade 2 really needs more recognition.
The next three years worth of trailers for it should be enough…
@@carldouglasmiles5594 😂 Good one but I doubt it. The game is good but it's probably not everyone's cup of tea
Happy for Armored Core VI winning. :)
Jet Set Radio, Blade and seeing Todd Howard for a few seconds was cool
I think no elden ring dlc just shows how massive or important this will be. Its like the switch 2 reveal when it happens. They’re gonna have their own moment to shine, on their terms, and probably shadow dropped. First half of next year is stacked so maybe summer/ early fall?
Blade and MH wilds is probably the 2 best announcements for me
Gonna keep an eye out for Exodus and Last Sentinel.
Glad I went to bed started 12.30am in the UK.
that new moonstudios game looks killer!! and ori was incredible! nice!
A new Golden Axe. Just take my money 💷
Square Enix should take notes. Baldur’s Gate 3 won game of the year and sold well and is TURN BASED. So people still like that game style very much contrary to their opinion
Uhh pretty sure it being turn based isnt what garnered it game of the year. 🤔 Real time combat is way more immersive than turnbased. 😎
Wasn't being turn based a huge turn off to a lot of people?
Not saying is a bad thing, I love turn based rpg but I saw a lot of people complaining about it.
@@kahp1072 i guess for decades of playing hundreds of such everyone would be tired
Looking forward to vision of mana.
Camelot's Golden Sun got mentioned by one of the announcers! Glad to see that series still fondly remembered. (But I still want to know what happens after Dark Dawn.)
Crossing my fingers for an Ecco revival.
Jordan Peele is lookin' like a senior citizen and he's only 4 years older than me.
Fighting Leviathan in FF15 was a massive letdown. It looked cool, but it wasn't a fight, it was a broken interactive cut scene.
Jordan Peele and Kojima. Two overrated people making one game.
@wheremynerdsat6141 so you don't own an xbox?
@@Noname15514nah I'd say they're appropriately rated
@@brandonwilliams7112 Who needs an xbox with a PC?
Told ya, Jon! *Baldur's Gate 3* winning GOTY 2023 was AS EXPECTED as Elden Ring winning GOTY last year against GOW Ragnorak (fresh experience > similar sequel).
I’m guessing Dreamcast 2. Everything they showcased was from an item that got warped into the tv. The Dreamcast logo ALSO got warped into the TV.
Now we have to deal with years of Playstation fans trying to rationalize Blade not being on PS5 when Xbox already did this with Starfield and Redfall.
Aw Blade isn’t gonna be on PS5? That’s a shame, guess I can’t play it then

2024 is STACKED!!!
I can't believe we're getting a new Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi.
Am I the only one underwhelmed by most of the announcement trailers? Most of them all looked the same/interchangeable to me: Multiplayer, gun play/hack and slash, fantasy world, etc.
Black Myth Wukong looks like the best version of 80% of the games they announced.
I am intrigued by Windblown, Light No Fire, OD, and Harmonium.
Yeah, same. That's why I have no interest at buying a new gen console. With exception of one or two games, nothing appeals to me anymore.
Most of the major studios are just copy/paste of the same gameplay styles with a different coat of paint and different characters/stories to avoid copyright. Innovation isn't really a thing anymore outside the indies or a select few big studios; look at the myriad of battle royales that came out awhile back trying to chase the Fortnite Golden Goose.
You weren't underwhelmed; you simply know better than to get yourself hyped up. For example, there are lots of people in the comments of the Blade game trailer, saying how amazing it looks, even though there's absolutely no gameplay shown in that trailer. And I see the same occur with other game trailers that have no gameplay. It's as if people have so much nothing going on in their real lives that they need to be super excited about video games.
You just got bored from gaming as a whole if nothing from the announced games interests you, just retire
Crazy Taxi and Golden axe! Two games that were definitely on my list of my top ten games I would love to see. So I'm happy.
Honestly, imo this was one of if not the best Game Awards we've had ever. Lots of good reveals in the preshow and especially the first hour, heck that first hour was super tight imo. The middle to the end did drag a 6 definitely not as much as prior years. This year at least every 15-20 minutes there was something that caught my attention or broke the tedium.
i was so hyped when i saw the sega announcement, jet set radioooooo. hope the music is fire
Thought this year’s TGA was fine they just need to reduce it by an hour.
In terms of trailers. People still don't care about the award aspect.
Dude, i literally fell asleep mid stream lol
It was TRAAASH. Except for the Sega and DB stuff
The first Berserker: Khazan, God Of War ragnarok: Valhalla, and Marvel's Blade were my favorite reveals.
One thing we can all agree on is that Pedro Eustache, aka Flute Guy, was the star of the show for the second year in a row. Man's a legend.
Contrabass flute go hard
@@StarseekerAtlas Truly the chaddest of instruments.
That Herald of Darkness performance was the best thing ever.
I didn't play Alan wake, but it was fun as hell. Seeing the dudes in suits just taking it so seriously was killing me
Didn' they say it was going to be the actual size (or bigger?) of a planet and not just the feel of it. For sure they said that mountains were not going to be gameworld mountains, but actually miles high
It'll be interesting to see how that is done since games that take ten minutes to walk from one side of the map to the other are extremely buggy typically.
@@DarkflameEmperor and how will you travel to the other side of the map? It will take hours even in a fast plane. How empty will the planet feel? Even if you have a million players, everything will be so far apart
@@alexk9295 I would definitely have fast travel points shared by everyone but I think a game like this only works if it is an MMO that expands outward from a central point and takes a decade or two to expand to various locations.
But a minecraft-style MMO where you can make your mark on the shared world. At the same time this project is too ambitious for twelve people.
It's not going to be a game more than a simple exploration demo.
There were some really good announcements here, the problem is it dragged on for SO long. It really should've been 2 hours max, not almost 4. Looking back at it, there's a ton I'm excited for, but it felt like there was nothing good because of how long it went on.
After Armored Core 6, i need something to tide me over until Armored Core 7. Mecha Break
What is funny is in like 2002-2003 I got into an addiction playing Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Zelda: The Wind Waker and Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2. Crazy how Street Fighter VI, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Baldur’s Gate 3 all came out in fantastic form this year. Pretty excited to see SEGA reviving Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi.
The problem I had is that all the exciting (to me) announcements happened in the first hour or so, and I forgot what most of them were by the end of the show.
I went in with no expectations, so walking away with Monster Hunter Wilds made me super happy. We knew it was happening but to see a bit, get the title, and get a release window was great!
As of this week, 2025 is looking very good.

What was weird is that larian shadow dropped bg3 onto Xbox without any warning. The only way people found out about it was because larian put out a tweet announcing that it was now available to purchase on Xbox after the game awards.
Wait, it's on xbox now? Guess I'm finally gonna get it
It's a marketing strategy I'm sure to have people go "what's this game of the year?" and have it available on all platforms reasonable for it to be on.
It makes no sense why Larian didn't mention the BG3 Xbox release being shadowdropped in the BG3 trailer
