  • The one thing I am glad that I caught when installing the QA1 coilover suspension kit on my dads 1964 442 Oldsmobile Cutlass was the cracked and failing lower control arm mounts. He said that he was hearing a noise when going over bumps but with all of the worn out suspension components it was hard to pin point where it was coming from. After tearing the front suspension apart and looking things over it was very noticeable that the cause of the noise was from the driver and passenger lower control arm mounts, both were cracked but the driver side was cracked in three places and starting to pull away from the frame which was a safety concern and with the addition of QA1's track suspension kit with coilovers it was only a matter of time before they became the cause of an accident!!!!

Is this Deja Vu, I thought I saw you do this already with your Dads car? Or am I remembering another car you replaced the mounts and put the QA1 suspension parts on? 🤷‍♂️, either way excellent job. The primer bomb can was not in that video , and I’m glad you noticed it, that’s crazy.

My weld-through primer is in a can and I apply it with a brush, so no worries with this one.
Sit that can somewhere in the open and leave a blowtorch heating it up. Should make a nice bomb!
    Don't forget to film it.

That's awesome! Great job. Now I wonder if adding doublers or gussets would help. Modern tires alone would stress those mounts a lot more than usual for the time the car was built.

Yeah it looks like a weak design but my dad only drives it here and there when it's nice so it should be good for a long time
