I owned an 03 model and loved the thing, coming off an inline 4 liquid cooled 1100 cc ( blackbird) i expected it to be slow, i was wrong, it sounded great and also was smoother at the bottom end and mid range than i expected, quite easily outperformed the 4 cylinder on my favourite road, hartside pass, north east england/cumbrian border. Will have another in future, v- twins are a bit special.
@@ldorman not really Couldn’t have picked a better bike to start on really. The sv650’s are great but you get bored of the power after a while An SV-1000 Will last you a good while. Perfect torque for the streets
I would not recommend anything over a 500cc motorcycle to a new rider. You need to learn how to stop fast and turn and drive in traffic before you have any power.
@@Carguylogan does having the driving license help you out or no, is it different experience? Does having a manual car experience help? I ride bicycles since i was born lol
@@DarthRevan12 Not really. I mean if you drive manual cars you will understand the speed to release the clutch which helps but it's with your hand instead of your foot so it feels different. Find an old 250 and learn on that then sell it and go for a bigger bike
@@Carguylogan that would be pretty hard, cuz 150-1liter bikes cost almost the same used on my country, im thinking of going with sv650/street triple 675/hornet 900, the main reason being that i wont be able to buy another bike for many years to come, and its not my money anyway its going to be a gift, thats why im trying to get away to less then 600 bikes, i hate supersports and bikes without comfort anyway be it seat position or their heavyness which i think is a plus
i know sv650 is a recommended for an adult beginner but the rear and front suspensions and the breaks threw me off, i heard those are the cheapest suspensions and the worst soft springs for a guy my size lol
@@fastcar42069 Buells are a maintenance nightmare and hard to find parts for. I don't want a project, I want a bike to ride. Why are you coming on my video and disparaging my shit? Are you gonna tell me to get rid of my supercharged MX-5 and buy a Crown Vic next?
Amazing pull, and lovely sound from that engine. 👌

Sv1000 was my first bike and I still have it I love it

I just bought a sv1000 2006. I love it.
They are great. I have an FZ09 now and it's a totally different feel but the naked SV1000 is just as good a bike. The V-twin sound is hard to beat.
I bought an SV1000 K3 as my first bike - I'm soo screwed 🤣

Gotta love the V2 vibrations
Just bought a 2007 in black. Did You have any issue with the clutch basket vibration rattle otherwise known as "chudder"??
Did you end up fixing the chatterM
Did you have a TRE fitted?
Yo would you recommend this bike to a 6'3 225lbs beginner rider this bike?

not stock
It has slip-ons on the stock pipes and a drop-in filter. Altogether probly makes 3 hp more than stock lol.
@@Carguylogan buells are better, try one of those
