@@advait35 In the flashback, when she went to check, she didn't see a man, she was bitten by a wolf So she must have been thrown when they said there was a man in the street
This episode is similar to white bear in that aspect, who's the real monster? the criminal that kidnapped and killed a child who can't remember those horrible acts for longer than 24 hours at a time because of her memory being erased or the people taking enjoyment in her having to go through the same thing day in and day out.
@@atomic_hok someone who would do that to a kid (implied sa) is beyond saving and i honestly think that while the white bear situation is pretty extreme, in an ideal world animal testing would be replaced with product testing on people who do sa
There is a distinct lack of respect and empathy for others this season; destroying people's lives/careers, torturing and murdering people, forcing others (who had showed empathy) to suffer your pain too, hounding/using people and their life stories for buck, racism and othering.
I LOVED this episode. it has rewatch value too because upon rewatch, there’s definitely hints about her being a werewolf; like when the maid comes in and the entire room is destroyed. makes so much sense after you know she’s a werewolf! I also loved John’s little giggle when he figured it out haha ❤
It's interesting how you said that the story "shifted into another genre" because on the one hand you're totally right, but on the other hand the whole episode is about insatiable predators with destructive appetites.
This episode made my top 3 of season 6. I might be a little biased because Werewolves are my favorite supernatural creatures, but honestly the twist that came at the very end is what I love in shows. I love being kept guessing and with this episode I didn't catch on until they panned up to the moon then she started to turn, and then I was like "HOLY SHIT SHES A WEREWOLF" lmao! This episode was more than a creature feature, the writers still told a story deeper than werewolves. If you watched it once and didn't enjoy it, I recommend giving it a 2nd watch and pay attention to all the details possible
This episode is more supernatural. Although I guess you can consider the cameras tech. I figured it out when they panned to the sky, right before the reveal
I was so incredibly uninterested while watching this episode until THAT reveal XD Though using a Muse track definitely gave this episode some bonus points with me
I feel like the last shot was a missed opportunity. Right after she hands Mazey the gun, they should have cut to the exterior where you hear and see the flash from the gun, then a pause before seeing a second flash from the camera. I thought for sure that's what they were gonna do but I guess not.
Or she was so shocked by seeing a real human being blasting her brain out in front of her made her reconsider doing it. She already did the right thing once by leaving. Maybe that part of her came back. She already had the pics the guys took, so why getting more bad karma points? Just a third possibility :)
@@rageoftrogdorlol they definitely made a better choice than yours. They intentionally made us think it happened at the same time. I didn't figure it out until they broke in to the cabin. A naked woman whose chained up and there are livestock available. Thats when i figured it out. The goats were her food after she turned
It was interesting that they used that song. I was immediately thinking of twilight 🙈 so when I saw her chained and saw the goat I saw the werewolf thing comming 😅
see each episode in every season was sort of a narrative on technology and all of its aspects. Episode 1 meant to show us what overuse and reliance on technology could lead to. Episode 2 had true crime recorded on VHS and that we like to record every little stupid thing including real executions and snuff stuff that certain people find attractive. Episode 3 showed us what over focusing on reaching stars tends to have consequences on Earth and that we forget that we should take care of our little worlds called home. This episode shows us darker sides of interesting in celebrity lives a little too much. It does have consequence to follow and harrass others and we never know bit one day we could awaken inner monsters in relatively calm people. I love this season and i do get what the hidden meaning is here.9/10 for me
Zazie beetz is a little too good at constantly playing the really chill character who seems not crazy until later on when you realize she might be the craziest one (in this case that is if she took the shot)😅
hot take for this episode - if she just took the pictures (the whole point of her being there) instead of trying to help her get out, all those people would have lived and mazey day would have got the help she needed from the doctor and lived plus she then took a picture of her at the end after she shoots herself anyway, like what
I didn't read the czech republic in the corner and was so confused when i heard the police talk in my language then noticed the uniforms lol didn't really paid attention this ep didn't like it that much
Did you notice that she never took the photo after Mazey Day unalives herself at the end? I saw the flash of the gun going off but I never saw a flash before or after that.
this was my least favorite episode just compared to the others of this season, but still love the scene when the rush in the room taking pictures of her when shes locked to the bed that is exactly what would happen in those circumstances.
I feel bad for these RUclipsrs. In the world where OLED (for super dark scenes) and 8K TVs exist, they watch the show in basically daylight looking down all the time while they can afford their own theater room.
Apparently her roommate in the beginning that complained about garlic and ginger in the air never grew up and is unfamiliar with aromatics and flavor. That dude needs to man up
i've lived with a housemate who cooked acrid-smelling foods and i don't mind, but prioritizing buying new stuff over paying your part of the rent is shameless. they might be presenting the roommate as an annoying whiney character, but it also shows the mc is shameless. she may have shown some hesitations feigning decency and ethical dilemma, but in the end, she's really just shameless to the core.
Continuing with the voyeurism theme! Stripping the humanity of actual humans for the sake of entertainment (I know By the Sea didn’t fit that, but I feel like it was a stand alone masterpiece).
I had a theory that, what if the girl was never a werewolf, what if it was metaphor for the animalistic qualities that can take over when you use drugs. Additionally, the photographers are like people at a zoo, exploiting the life and nature of animals for our personal entertainment.
Anyone else just hate Zazie Beats after watching Atlanta?? This character just makes me hate her even more… I was never at any point in this episode rooting for her. Even with the roommate, like, I was on his side too 😂
I don't think that gay guy death/ suicide in the intro is all her fault honestly. Sure she contributed to it by selling out the photos but he chose to cheat on his wife. That was his decision and taking his own life was also his decision. The truth would come out eventually, that guy was just a coward. If you are secretively gay just don't go marry a woman and make a family with them omg. That move was just disgusting
I thinks that's a pretty messed up mentality, especially after they address this exact thing in "Joan is Awful". Just because you did something shitty or bad, the difference between the immediate local affect, compared to the whole world taking the opportunity to judge and punish you is hugely disproportionate. You see this exact thing with the way people react to anything like this online. Regardless of whether they technically chose to be a public figure when they became famous, it doesn't remove just how powerful being publicly stripped down and judged by literally hundreds of millions of people is. Then on top of that, being in the limelight and being gay is still pretty precarious even today, so "just don't marry a woman" is easy to say but public figures do an awful lot more and worse to themselves and others simply down to the fact that being seen as something by the world will drastically change how they treat you. The paparazzi exist because this is such a powerful thing.
@@tehtayziez I didn't say that she did the right thing but blaming all the responsibility of his death on her is not OK 🤡 Maybe read carefully before dumping me about all this info about how media work lol 😘 I just state the truth and if you perceive this as "messed up mentality" maybe real life would be hard for you to cope little snowflake So people can force you to marry now ??? 😂😂.Think about his wife and his child ?? Funny how the whole episode the paparazzi were tracking the actress like an Animal. And they indeed found one.
also whats funny is if she had just been taking the pictures instead of trying to help, then all those people would have been alive still
The double meaning behind Mazey asking Bo to “shoot” her
I half expected her to throw away the gun and just take her picture whole she bled out 😬.

This season definitely has a theme. Like, The Monsters inside us, or something.
Or the monsters in the media
@@emosam07 it's both
True. Although, to be fair, that’s pretty much the theme of the entire show
I’ve heard talk of a spinoff called red mirror, where they will cover more supernatural themes. Very curious about it.
@Juanpa_pv very true haha but this season was different, i dont wanna say grounded necessarily, but it was different.
Really great season.
It's funny how she was listening to the soundtrack of Twilight, I kinda knew from there
Thats a really good catch omg
wait I noticed that but didn't connect the dots omg
That makes so much sense cause all I could think of was the baseball scene lol
Same i was like really the twilight song. In my second viewing it hit me that it was meant more as a hint
I love how the last "shot" was a flash which can be both of the gun and of the camera.

This one turned into a real horror show as it kept progressing to the end.
