I'm surprised they didn't include the 5th extra point try in the video. I've been watching the NFL for about 50 years and I've never seen four extra points missed in one game. I looked up the record, and this was the most since a game in 1960 where three were missed.

One, the extra point, is a very short kick that is not often missed, can only happen after a touchdown and is worth one point. The other, field goal, is worth 3 points, teams may attempt one at any time they choose during an offensive possession, regardless of down or field possession and are often kicks of 40+ yards. Basically, extra points are kind of considered a gimme.

As a Cowboys fan all my life, I went into this game having NO FAITH. I was so diappointed in how we played last week against Washington and even the two games b4. Seeing as to how in seven tries we had never beaten Tom Brady AND have not been in the playoffs since my oldest son was a baby, I truly felt we couldn't do it. I'm pushing 70, and a "Boys fan since they came into the league. I FULLY EXPECTED Tom Brady to "Slice Up" the Dallas secondary like the proverbial Thanksgiving Turkey, in spite of the bad season that the Bucs have had, and Tom's "Bad Season" off the field! I genuinely believe that the turning point in the game was the interception of Brady in the end zone, as had Tampa converted for a TD, I think things could have been radically different.
I was ALSO fully expecting Maher's FOUR MISSED PAT's to come back and cost us the game!!
Sadly, when Dak is "On", he's virtually unstoppable, but the Cowboys' lack of CONSISTENCY has KILLED THEM this years!! (HOW can they blow out the Vikings, then be blown out by Washington!!??)

Dak Prescott really showed me a lot tonight. He's the type of leader were looking for. He was scrambling to pick up first downs. Ran a touchdown in himself. Threw himself in front of Zeke to block. I hope they keep the momentum alive and watch a lot of film this week to figure out a battle plan to beat San Fran

@@surinder474 Im sorry but the Bucs offense is a one trick pony. Brady is a great quarterback, but when we stopped his passing game, he had nothing. The buc's running game is mediocre at best (at least in that game it was). Brady dominated for a drive with his short passing game, cowboys adapted and played zone coverage, then Brady couldn't do anything. They literally rely on Brady to carry the offense. On one of his scoring drives, im p sure they ran the ball 1 time only.
@@masift1494 but 12 carries bucks had more yards, more yards per attempt, cowboys ran 35 times and thus they had more yards. It's not Dallas cowboys had lots of rushing yards, they had because they ran 35 times as compared to Tampa 12 times only. Why Dallas kept on running?
With every team in the NFC South having a losing record including the Bucs, who made it to the playoffs by default, none of them deserved to be there. The 9-8 Lions who won 8 out of their last 10 games, including convincing wins against 3 playoff bound teams in the Giants, Jaguars and Vikings over that 10-game stretch, easily made them the best team that didn't make the playoffs in the NFC. The Lions also nearly upset two of the best teams in the NFL in the Eagles and the Bills.

Huge respect to Coach McCarthy for letting Maher try a 5th. If he missed, its totally on the coach for letting him try. After 0 and 4, there is a clear trend, and its on the coach if he misses again. Like a goalie in hockey letting in 6 goals through the 2nd period ... if the coach doesn't pull him, its on the coach. Like a manager in baseball watching his pitcher give up three home runs in one inning ... if he doesn't pull him, its on the manager. But McCarthy gave Maher a chance to either DESTROY his reputation, or, stave off the yips and earn a shot at kicking next week. Respect to Coach McCarthy for that (or whomever made that call).

My favorite highlight was seeing the fake qb run on the goal line for Dallas. Prescott is so good at faking like the tail back is gonna get it yet he goes running in with it. They seriously need to run plays like that more! Defenses bite on that so often and I feel like they protect dak a lot since his injury. Their offense is top notch when Dak is on point, good showing tonight all around for them.
The only Buc that recognized the fake was in the worst position to do anything about it.
