With how the Bowser ship talks the direct says "Bowser merged with the castle".
It means Bowser LITERALLY IS a massive floating ship. Thats why it can talk. The ship IS Bowser.
"Bowser turns into a CASTLE and the player mashes X a lot, and sometimes triangle, until Ansem (Bowser) is defeated."

I now expect Super Mario Bros Wonder 2 to involve some anger-filled split off disembodied body version of Bowser named Woxbres or something like that to indicate that he is actually making an attempt to rule the entire world with a new powerup or something.

Super Mario Bros Wonder will be a massive game changer, even to the point of having the largest character roster out of any main-series game
I hope large rosters are now set in stone for future entries, I just love variety and character options

This game is literally the story/concepts of a Mario and Luigi RPG but slapped on a mainline 2D game, and I'm here for it. Heck they even brought in badges, a staple of those games.
Also Blue Toad brings a smile to my face.
Paper Mario has badges too. Particularly the first 2 games.
I've been wanting more kingdoms, like the Bean Bean Kingdom to be introduced and they finally delivered!
RIP Alpha Dream. I do still hope Mario & Luigi comes back

Badges have been used in yoshi's wholly world so they are not that foreign of a concept to nintendo.

@@xenophonanthony2791rosalina isnt realy a mario character. Shes a refrence character, wich works on stuff like odyssey among normal humans or party games, but in a 2d game she doesnt relay fit

Badges, past game powerups, 3D world exploration, they really are putting the most memorable aspects of every type of mario game into one mega game.
Any game with Toadette playable is automatically a good game. 10/10

I like that Nabbit and Yoshis are playable, wish they weren't "Easy-mode" characters though, I wish you could just toglle that mode as any character so we could get power up Nabbit and Yoshi.
agree, i really wish easy mode was a toggle. i love yoshi but hate that they're easy mode. :(
i wonder (lol) if you take damage with mario if he's riding on yoshi. . .
How would yoshi even work with power-ups? Would the tongue be disabled if they have one?
@@Sevrgpro Similar to Mario World exactly, where the tongue would be replaced by the power (he could shoot fireballs, now bubbles, etc.) though I guess the hitch in this is that all characters play the same in 'normal mode' no double jump, hover, faster run, etc. So I guess Yoshi having the flutter jump and tongue is fine for how it is now, - but would be broken with power ups, but at least allow us to toggle the damage taking for him and Nabbit, I won't want to use them if they remove so much of the challenge by default.

This game has so much content and it’s 2D Mario wow. I really like this multiplayer approach considering how laggy Mario maker 2 online is. This is the perfect solution

Mario Maker 2 with its p2p approach to multiplayer means it is only laggy if one of the players in the room has a bad connection. So if your game is constantly laggy, it's most likely your internet connection that is the issue.
It took 10 years, but this is the 2D Mario game we deserved

One thing I love about Super Mario Bros. Wonder is that not only does it look unique among other Mario games, but it looks unique compared to other 2D platformers.
No matter how hard they try, i won't forget that blue and yellow toad's names are Buckin Berry and Ally Gold. (Source: Japanese manual for New Super Mario Bros Wii (I am pretty certain))

Wonder looks incredible indeed between new enemies galore, all the new power-ups (the bubbles acting as platforms reminds me of Bubble Bobble) and the Wonder Flower effects (Power Balloon is back), the characters (missing only Rosalina IMO), the badges mostly à la Yoshi's Woolly World, the mix of traditional map and 3D World one, the online etc.!

He's definitely got a mad case of the overhypes. Nintendo legit gave us the biggest roster of any 2D AND 3D Mario game and his only reaction was "wow, this is disappointing"
He just wishes we got more creative characters. Nothing wrong with that.
If only Nintendo brought back Versus mode (online or what not). Would have been the cherry on top on this otherwise fat new Super Mario platformer
The yellow yoshi render is technically updated, it’s a new model but the same exact pose for it. Lighting is improved, and the tongue is actually modelled better than the og mp9 render. I only noticed this when I saw a side by side of the og render with this one.

Ever since 3D world I like that they made power ups that do multiple things. Like cat suit suit has wall climbing and scratching while something like the fire flower is only to shoot fire

Nintendo's been killing it with their new games lately. Love how they're changing the formula drastically to make them feel familiar enough yet completely new and different from past games
The introduction of bloom the wiiU added made Nintendo games looks so much brighter and colorful and better

Their usage of Online Play is actually genius. They learned from the disaster of Super Mario Maker 2's online and created a system that doesnt connect players directly, but still allows for some semblance of co-op play.

It looks like the orange badges are new abilities, the blue badges are assists, and the yellow badges are challenge modifiers.
The first Nintendo Direct I have ever watched live!
I was honestly expecting them to create a powerup like Ninja Mario where you can throw shurikens which travel in a slightly upward but horizontal arc and give them the ability to climb up walls, and then turn invisible by pressing some button.

Any else notice a lot of the badges are other previous Mario mechanics? (Btw I know Bandy did) Like.. the hat glide is the peach glide. The charged high jump is the Mario 2 high jump. Dolphin kick is Frog Mario. Etc,

If anyone who played new super Mario Bros U deluxe didn't know that blue toad is in the game. You have to go to yellow toad and hold L and you should be able to play as him
