Well done comparison with Eduard’s video. He did a marvelous job. I sent him this reaction along with the usual crew. One fact I do know is Jim was in process of making this video four years ago. The lady who was going to sing the lead suddenly passed away. I don’t know the full details but that was so tragic. The project sat until RUclips did what it does. It put a Tori video in Jim’s feed in February and said basically, you may like THIS! It was an OMG moment for him, like it was for me last October. Maybe he’ll say which song, I think it was The Medley but I’m not sure. I don’t remember what I saw first as The Medley came out a few days after I started watching all her short videos. It was YOU who showed me Superstar which lead to the two Christmas songs under Lauren’s Topic Channel. Perfect timing for last season. Great reaction to a great comparison video! Joe
Very, very close. My hearing isn't as sharp as many other people so I'm not an authority about this, but to me they do sound effectively the same. The differences I can hear I have to wonder how much of that is because of different microphones and recording equipment, all of which add their own 'color' to a recording. In this comparison the Carpenters sound a bit 'brighter' than Tori, but how much of that is from the equipment used?
Have you heard Harriet sing What's Mine Is Yours? She sounds a lot like Karen Carpenter, too! Tori is wonderful! It's been an adventure sharing the name. I've heard it all since The Carpenter's first hits when I was a little girl.
You know Carol, ever since the Memorial service in Downey, Tori's been really quiet. I have no idea why. I suppose we could all imagine a lot of different reason, but frankly, I can't imagine why. I wonder what's going on.

You share my taste in music, Carpenters Motown etc. I also like Trio with Parton Ronstad and perticularly Emmylou Harris. Now this is gonna sound different but there's also a little group called Clannad from Ireland, they made a lot of popsongs since the early eighties but before that they made more of the Gaelic traditionals and I can;t make head nor tails from the lyrics but they perform it so well and disciplined (note: Enya is the sister of Maire Brennan the lead singer) now check out this youtube video, it's my absolute favorite: ruclips.net/video/EBVehlkCCfU/видео.html
