A cyclical universe makes far more sense than one single universe with one single big bang. There has to be something before the big bang, or there would be nothing to make a big bang with. Much of this is speculation on my part, as I am not a scientist, but it doesn't make sense to hang onto one single occurrence to happen. The universal monkey theorem is great, meaning that anything is eventual if you give it enough time, but the human mind can only imagine just so far. Great video.

Constructive Criticism: The transcript is quite imprecise, and unnecessarily confusing. Examples:
00:15 _"The common understanding was that the Universe underwent rapid expansion, before cooling down."_
You've given absolutely no context about the above scenario, most importantly: when did all of this occur? I assume after the Big Bang, but, er...no data / info to go on leaves the viewer feeling a bit lost.
00:20 _"Then, the first stars and galaxies started to form, during a time we call The Dark Ages."_
What did the stars and galaxies form out of? A brief primer on hydrogen gas clouds forming / growing due to gravity, coalescing into stars, the creation of heavier elements via the solar life cycle, from a starting point of a single element (hydrogen) accounting for all matter in the Universe.
00:37 _"And in some cases, even more mature than astronomers had anticipated."_
    Astronomers, or theoretical physicists?
00:40 _"Which raises one of several possibilities."_
It doesn't raise *_one_* of several possibilities; it raises *_several possibilities._*
If you think I'm being picky, pls remember, the topic is *_astrophysics_* ;p
00:50 _"Apparently, this finding of ancient galaxies..."_
Is it a finding, or a hypothesis, at this stage...?
01:30 _"Astronomer Vesto Slipher noticed some nabluae were moving away rapidly."_
What are nebulae? What are they moving rapidly away from? (The centre of the Universe? Hogwarts? Cupertino? Mordor? The Bat Cave?)
Who was Vesto Slipher...a Slitherin Professor, perhaps? A Harkkonnen Mentat? An agent of Ming, from planet Mongo? By what means did this nebulous Slipher character determine the vector of these so-called _"nebulae;"_ was necromancy or foul sorcery ruled out?

The chance that this all just happened is equated to throwing a dart from the moon to the earth and splitting a particular grain of sand exactly in half. There is solid evidence of beings, "intelligent beings" that aren't physical. Typical close minded scientists today claim it's a manifestation from our own mind. Ohhhhhhhh, okeeeeey! In fact it's far more bizarre to say we won a 1:999,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 chance than to say there is something far greater than us (the Master scientist) that started an Ant colony......

This is a misunderstanding of what infinity means.
There are infinite numbers between 1.0 and 2.0.
Literally, could count for all of existence and never cross the threshold of reaching 2.0 as you count the decimals in between.
Its possible "Life/Consciousness" exists, in that scenario, at number "4.0". Infinity does not mean all possibilities will eventually be realized. There are infinite numbers between every number. You could have a universe that encompasses the "infinite" between 1.0 and 2.0; and it never reaches the infinite of "4.0-4.1", where consciousness could be created.
Infinity does NOT mean every possible permutation of infinity is ever achieved. Its much more restrictive than you would think.

So, this is truly fascinating. This isn't the first time that a cyclical theory of the universe and our beingness has been proposed. Back in the early centuries of Buddhist thought, (2nd & 3rd cent of european dating), two incredible Indian philosophers, Nagarjuna and Vasubandhu, offered a cosmalogical understanding of the impermanence of all things that also go through the stages of being conceived, born, grow, age, decline, and pass. This includes the vast universe itself. The time frames of the different cycles within cycles were described as kalpers, epochs and aeons.
Seems as though science has caught up in a mini circle.

This idea makes sense only if the universe is of a finite size. So yeah the finite observable universe may have once been a point of zero volume and infinite density. But if the universe in its entirety is of infinite size, it must alway have been of infinite size even if and when it was if infinite density.

I agree in principle with Sir Roger, in that the universe is continually expanding, but I see it as happening in similar fashion to nuclear chain reactions. That is to say, radioactive isotopic atoms seldom happen alone in nature, there are always more scattered around the same general area. The same must be true for the primordial singularity which led to " the big bang". Eventually a stray "neutron" (galaxy) is going to approach a massive blackhole at just the right angle to "split the atom" ( cause a big bang)...

If everything was shrinking in the universe it would appear that it was expanding and everything was getting further from everything else. To me it seems either space is linked with time enough that as time passes, it drags space with it causing its expansion, or all visible matter is shrinking. I think things shrinking is simpler than space expanding but with all that we don’t understand about the quantum world, simpler may not be the truth.

Non locality blows this all away. Superposition renders space and time meaningless. Its all one thingy. Relativity is a mental construct and a consequence of consciousness. Our sense of self creates a stubborn duality that is subjective. The world inside your head vs the world outside your head. Can't have relativity if there is no separation or duality. In order to have relativity one needs a partner. If there is no partner, then what are you relative too? The fact of the matter is we are not separate and apart of the reality we are made of and swim in. But your mind is certain you have a location separate and apart of the reality you are. All dualities & symmetry are suspect. Something & Nothing. Hot & Cold. Good & Evil. Everywhere & Nowhere. Light & Darkness. Life & Death. Enjoy the illusion of self while it lasts. Ashes to Ashes. Dust to Dust.
