You can't go wrong with a Bee Gee song. There's a lot of us always looking for Bee Gee reactions. They wrote over a 1000 songs...for Celine,Barbra Streisand,Dionne Warwick, Kenny Roger's and Dolly Parton and many more. They of course sang their own. Many hits for all. Most were really good but they hits and misses. Carole you do all their songs you'll have 3000+ videos...just kidding lol. Love your station. You're right . BEST group ever. They were funny, charitable and humble. Never needed bad words or messages. Ty for keeping their music alive .

I watched a documentary on Gordon this afternoon. He put out a lot of songs in his day. He sure loved his liquor and said it helped him in his writings. Sadly, he passed away last year. There’s a version out there where he sang this song a lot slower. I’ve enjoyed his music since the early days.

We will all be falling off our chairs when she comes out with old funk, R/B, jazz, because she has said she loves music across many genres and the lyrics to songs have to strike a cord in her emotions or she won’t sing it. Time will tell.

Caught this on the tv earlier. Her story is very sad. She had such deep rooted personal issues that she just never could overcome. I don’t think she got good help to get her through. There are many new ones coming along that were born with beautiful voices, born to sing. But here’s the problem … remember when Simon told Sydnie Christmas just listen to the audience, they always get it right? Well somehow ya gotta get before that audience or you don’t get the break. I’m sure there are tons of folks who never get the break for whatever the reasons.

Wonderful Sydnie, just love her. It is difficult to grade who's the best but I feel Sydnie is way up there, and just when we could all do with something good in our lives. At the moment she even surpasses Beth Hart in my affections. Syds album is out this Friday, and I think Beth has a new album next month, so lots of ear candy to come!! Sydnie has the Royal Variety Show end of November (big thing singing in front of our King) at the Royal Albert Hall, and that should be something as the acoustics there are great. Just check out Joe Bonamassa or Beth singing there. In the new year she starts her My Way tour of the UK and I have my ticket!! Good times ahead, peace and love. 🥰

I'll start by saying any Bee Gees reaction is a good reaction. This is an okay song from an okay album, but neither are among my very favs, but I often shift my opinion with multiple listens and when I see the song through someone else's eyes so even my lesser favs are always worth a re-listen. With all that said the title track from the High Civilization album is my favorite from that album and among my overall favs. It is a little to the rockier side so might not be one you love, but if you get bored and feel like throwing it in the mix I'd definitely listen!!

I can’t disagree with any of your critique. We’ve been through every superlative possible to try and define/describe her voice. I, like you are out of words. I did hear three or four minor changes from her BGT version of this song. I think the studio versions are always better. I appreciate the dedication and work ethic of this young woman. She’s a perfectionist when it comes to her songs and it shows. Thanks for reacting to this one. Her album releases on October 4, it has To Dream the Impossible Dream, (I am eagerly waiting hearing her sing this one), O Holy Night, another Xmas carol, of course her three BGT hits, and a couple of other songs that have meaning to her journey. It’s basically an intro to Sydnie. David Foster invited her to sing My Way and a duet with someone at his 75th birthday bash on 11/3/24 in Pasedina CA. Andrea and Matthew Bocelli will be there, Josh Groban. Hope the duet is with one of those folks. And I’m sure there will be a grand finale where everyone will sing. End of November is the Royal Variety Show, Dec-Jan she’s doing first pantomime…. Beauty and the Beast. In spring her tour starts. So she’ll be busy.

Thanks a million Carol. Huge song but not the original version from the album. This is a version where the bridge is sung by Barry and not Robin, too bad ! The drum play is also different, I do prefer it by far compared to the monotone beat of the first version.
