    Thank you for the video. I recently took in a bird from a family member. They had a cage,toys, and food, and such but the cage seems too small. This video help me get a better understanding of what size cage I need. The link for cages in your description made it really easy to find a new cage to purchase. Thank you.

    We rescued a cockatiel who had "anger issues". He became more pleasant as time went by, because he was no longer being teased by children and was allowed out of his cage during waking hours. The door to it was only closed when we went to bed.
    He eventually moved into an aviary we built with at least 30 more cockatiels.
    Anyway the point I am getting to was that a round cage doesn't help with their mental health. A cage with corners breaks the monotony of traversing the cage, and helps them believe that they're achieving their goal.
    We unfortunately did not know this when we got him, but considering that he spent at least 5 years in that cage with not being let out, because he bit the children of the previous owners, he did become less cranky, but he was still a wee bit "strange".
    Especially because he also was used to his own reflection in the mirror, when we released him into the aviary he would try to mate with gray males with yellow faces. Because they looked like his reflection, and that was really his only company that the previous owners gave him.
    .....and some of the boys got a bit cheesed off when he tried hopping on to their backs.

      But doesn’t it poop on sofa, bed sheets, dinner table, carpet, floor if let open ? 😢 it’s a big mess to clean everytime he poops, suffering from a back ache now, how do u manage to clean it always without u stepping on it?

    • @StoffelDilligas
      @StoffelDilligas Год назад

      @@aimanshaikh5406 as I said he, had been locked in his cage for year's before we rescued him, his cage was his safe haven. Therefore he did not venture very far from it, so the vast majority of his day he was either inside the cage with the door open, or outside and on top of his cage, so poop went through the bars, into the sand in the bottom of his cage

    Look at vision cages, I like the clear bottom and bell shape prevents poo going on the sides, only have to clean the bottom if you space toys and perches so they don’t get pooped on, also comes with guards so they don’t pop in food and water

    As an owner of a cockatiel and 5 budgies, I believe all birds no matter species should have a flight cage. All of my birds have flights cages but they only sleep and eat in them. They fly in the bird room. If you get a bird get a flight cage! Birds are meant to fly
