I am partial to GTO Ferrari's, because I am Italian yes. But the Shelby's and the Jaguar E types? Special in for different reasons. The E type is in a very British way just so refined, and as a gentleman's race car I have to agree with Enzo Ferrari. It is absolutely stunning to look at. Great video.
With Aston Martin doing the DB5 Goldfinger continuation (25 of them) Jaguar would wipe the floor with the others making 49 of these at a couple of million a pop.
After checking the pictures I realized I saw this exact car 49FXN at last year's Spa Six Hours. Just took a quick pic of it and went by thinking it was just some balls to the walls variant of the Lightweight E-Type... I didn't know it was that rare... I regret my decisions...
I know it's a race car not a luxury sports car, that being said, from the couple of interior shots it looks like it was made for drivers no taller that 5 foot tall.;)
But lets be honest here, running 3rd in class before the transmission went is not like it was running away with the race. Either the drivers sucked or the car was not as good in the corners since obviously it had the top speed.
But it didn’t have the top speed. The Cobra Daytona coupe, which was also in the GT class, was much faster on the Mulsanne, even beating some of the prototypes.
Let’s be honest here - you don’t know much about driving in the Le Mans 24-hour race. It is not a sprint, it is an endurance race. With a car charging ahead into the lead it is highly likely that even if it doesn’t crash first it is not going to last the full 24 hours. Back then mechanical failures on cars were very frequent indeed. The more professional race teams placed greater emphasis on staying in the race by nursing their cars and being consistent in their driving. To eventually come through as the winners.
This is the Dr Klat car. Uggh. Nasty ugly. Butt ugly. You can't look at that nose and keep a straight face. The real jewel was CUT7 the one and only Sayer low drag car. This car used to be in LA. I remember it. I knew it's owner, a lawyer. He sold it and it went back to UK in the mid-90s.
That's not a pretty nose, even if it helps her performance. But I'm too distracted by the rest of her curves for her nose to even make attraction flinch.
I can't believe how pretty this car is. And thought of never being able to own one is devastating.
You'll get over it.
@@Requiredfields2 think they meant in general. New race cars arent as gorgeous as these old ones

And then the shelby for just being raw american power i guess
The Future seen by an exceptional team of engineers.
You did this car justice, well presented. Brilliant!
The music isn't loud enough. I could still hear one out of three words.
I agree one of the most beautiful production cars ever made.
Great video. Enjoyed it very much. Keep up the good work. Thank you Sam 👍
What a nice note to flag up on my screen. Very kind, thank you.
With Aston Martin doing the DB5 Goldfinger continuation (25 of them) Jaguar would wipe the floor with the others making 49 of these at a couple of million a pop.
Great video, well presented, background music not needed. Apart from that, articulate, well directed and produced.
I wish I was snooty enough to wear my sports jacket with the collar turned up the way it's supposed to be.
Well written auto journalism, nicely edited, and very well presented story. Hope your videos find their way back to RUclips in the future!

Great video of a super car, well done. Just put 625 miles this last weekend on my '68 OTS E Type....simply exciting to drive & enjoy.
my grandfather built the low drag jag
This one or the real one the factory built for Lindner and Nocker (4868 WK)?
When car has more art than in any museum 😍
Saw this car at the espiritu de Montjuic (Barcelona circuit) such a glorious sound and shape
Great piece of film.,a shame about the over use of chariots of fire side muzac..
Great video and interesting facts. What a beautiful car and I loved the aerodynamic development
Thank you!
Low drag and no downforce awesome!
The bodylines of this car are so damn sexy, this is Jag's GTO, completely agree.
Very very slick JAGUAR. I've had 3, but none like this one. !!!!!
Hope Jaguar do a all new Jaguar E-Type 49 FXN
The music drowns out the interesting commentary.
Form wins out over function once again. Learn from past mistakes? Nah.
Wow ❤️
Lost for words
My second favourite Jag, behind the unicorn XKSS
Have you seen the vid of Jay Leno with Steve McQueen's XKSS? I think that car is far more beautiful then the E type.
Great film Sam
Anyone else notice at 4:48 the other low drag coupe out front of 49 FXN?
Music too loud.
Beautiful racer.👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
Great car and information but the music overpowers it all which is sad and it is not needed.
I wonder how many people are going to quote Enzo Ferrari every time they see this car as if they where the first person to say it
CD: When there stop being people who aren't already familiar with the car or Enzo's quotation!
Great video but PLEASE..........lose the music
I'd vote for just turning it down enough to not drown out voice.
Lovely music but needs to be toned down
All I can think about is how he doesn’t seem to be looking at the camera
script
It looks like it’s saying “ooooooo”
Is no one going to talk about how this is the SAME EXACT ROAD AND SPOT that Car Throttle used when doing their video on which M3 is the best?
Fawkz Fawkz it’s not a public road,it’s an industry test track
Tremendous car 😍
Nice watch - howd'ya get it 😉 ??????????????

I cried....
Tell me more about 4868 WK visible at 4:50
That is the only true factory-built low drag lightweight.
What a shame you stopped doing youtube Sam
Music is disturbing
Lovely 💓🔥
XJ-13 has the No one spot of the rarest of them all
You are absolutely right sir.
but it's not an e-type
Whats the top speed?
3 thumb's down, ??? who are those DWEEB'S ???
Hancock should stop shouting at people.

So, with all that testing and brilliant engineering, they used the total crap moss gearbox?
Where is Jaguar, right now?
Pacero F type pretty cool. Made in the UK.
Dead
Awesome vid but the back ground noise is annoying, please don't watch mexican novellas, next time let the car produce the background symphony!
Score written by Hans Zimmer.
Do you know which score? Been trying to find it..
What is the music?
Overwrought: Full of Sound and Fury
Do you play Simulation Racing Games?
Hes a commentator. I dont know if he has time to
Spag Face Lmao commentating is easy and takes little to no time
Even if he works 50 hour weeks, if he enjoys racing sims, he can surely find time.
Rick C Definitely. I commentate too and it takes little to no rehearsing. Just memorise the names and key features of those names.
Get a jacket that fits and put your collar down!
He had to flash the Rolex conspicuously in our faces to show how successful he is.
Oh well. !!!!!
Nice...….gtjoey1314
can I win it on gran Turismo?
Totally unnecessary, annoying music. Why do you people think it’s needed? Why?
interior are crap

Sami Klat's car is the most aerodynamic of the E-types. Aesthetics are personal opinion.
Yeah, this nose is unfortunate.
I think CUT7 is now owned by F1 designed Adrian Newey. I've seen it raced at the Goodwood revival. It won the TT
That's not a pretty nose, even if it helps her performance. But I'm too distracted by the rest of her curves for her nose to even make attraction flinch.
Wrong. The real jewel was 4868 WK, the only factory-built low drag lightweight. You can see the back of it at 4:50
Wot r the presenters pronouns?
