Thank you for going out and finding these things I don’t think I’ll ever see something like this in person but on a video it scratches a itch for historical significance
Wow, I mean just wow! Guys, this is one amazing explore! Eagle Eyes, you are the man! Finding those first aluminium pieces, in all that forest growth, was incredible, but then, young man, you showed us why you earned your nickname. You did us proud finding the rest of the plane, and yes, the actual crash site. HH, EE, just fantastic work! Seeing what remains of the 109's engine just laying there, broken and wrecked, was just an amazing thing to see. That 109 hit very hard, and just concertinered herself into the hillside, as you can see by how the alluminium has been squashed together. The rest of the engine is probably still there too, scattered into the bushes, and trees. The German recovery team probably had little to do apart from removing what was left of the guns, and their ammo, and just left the rest where it lay. Again guys, just an incredible, amazing, explore, and find! Thank you for sharing this, and, more importantly, for all the effort it took to reach the site! Cheers to you both! Stay Healthy!
This is a great find, worth the research time and legwork, HH. Finding part of the engine block above ground is phenomenal. Actually, a lot of the metal is still left. It looks like they grabbed the military hardware, MGs, and radios and left the rest. I loved the accordion piece; it gives you an idea of how fast the plane speed was when it impacted. Excellent spotting, EE. Great work, people. Stay safe and well.
Yes this was a serious heavy crash and very glad there are still some pieces left there. We loved it even though it was a tough one. Thanks so much and more to come my friend :)
Amazing finds thank you. The gun couldn't physically fire through the crank because it was not a complete tube. It did go through the top of the block somehow. I will have to look it up now myself lol
There is an offset to the front gear box. The propeller does is not bolted directly to the crankshaft. All V-12s have a reduction gearbox. The small gear is on the crankshaft and the big gear has the splined propeller shaft on it. They are made in 1 piece. The cannon is usually placed between the Cylinders. It has to be fairly easy to take out for maintenance.
Fantastic to find all the parts that you did. Remains of the engine are an incredible find, appreciate all the hard effort EE and yourself put in to bring it to us.
WHAT an explore ! History Hunted and found ! All those fragments some with paint .. and a chunk of engine. Absolutely amazing ! Thankyou once again for taking us along !
Hello HH & EE, The Messerschmitt Bf-109 was one of the most advanced aircraft of the Germans. What a nice reward that you found traces of the crashed Messerschmitt Bf-109.
It really was and Oma and it is pretty rare to find a place like that all the way out in the middle of nowhere. Great explore and more to come. Take care and keep smiling :)
History hunter and Eagle eyes you guys really pulled the discovery out of the bag on this trip. The forces involved to rip open the aluminium monocoque and to destroy the engine. Thanks for all your hard work.
Wunderbar ! Congratulations EE on spotting the pieces ! Glad you guys found that location , as I'm not even going to try hahaha ! I know it would be heavy , But a piston would be a very special piece to have on a display for sure ! I'm sure that there was a lot more to find out there too ! Thank you for toughing it out on the terrain HH , I bet you were absolutely famished after that one ! Anxiously awaiting your next explore !
An incredible find. Sincere kudos. You must feel rewarded for your efforts, skill and a little luck to find that exact site. Truly remarkable. The carnage resulting from that crash is horrific. If the pilot was still in the plane, may he rest in peace.
Great video and exciting find. Good job, EE for spotting the first pieces and actual crash site. The impact must have been tremendous with so many pieces smashed the way they were. Loved this explore, can't wait for more. Thank you HH team.
It really must have hit very hard there in the forest hillside. So many small pieces there and we think it was hard and tough but so worth it. Thanks Allen and keep smiling out there :)
Slowly getting caught up. What a find, especially the destroyed engine! So cool to see it. Leave it to Eagle Eyes to find the main crash site. Sounds like you two were probably exhausted at the end of that hike. So many great sites you've been finding on this tour. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Once again, EE lives upto his name, well done in finding that 109 on the side of a mountain, and so much of it left there. Must have been really hard to try and recovery it 80 years ago. Beatiful mountain side as well. Thanks for sharing this with us all, and look forward to some more exciting explores. Stay safe and well my friends
I felt a couple of the mosquitos flying around me just watching you walking on the hill. Great find. It was great to see how they got the cannon to fire through the engine. Thanks Guys. Great Job.
Once again a great video and find. A remarkable plane, all those bits n pieces. You make history come to life, keep up the amazing work, greetings to you, your family and fellow followers from another history geek in CPH.
I just find it incredible that you and EE found the crash sight. I know you had documentation from WWII records, BUT, there are many square kilometers of hillside that look similar, but you and EE, still managed to find the exact crash site. What a find, thanks for all your hard work. I hope you brought back some small remnants from that iconic BF109.
Yes , this was a tough one and behind scenes we actually was about to just call it for the day but EE really did what he does best , finding stuff :) Thanks and greetings from us :)
What an amazing discovery, HH and EE! To see the remains of the Messerschmidt is incredible. I know you and EE were completely tired out in that terrain!❤
Absolutely thrilling discovery, once again EE lives up to his name.Amazing the the amount of parts you found, some with the paint clearly visible, and the incredible self sealing rubber fuel tank.I was extra excited watching this as i had just received the Me Bf-109 shadow box you had kindly gifted me.perfect timing! Not only that but included in the package was a 1942 Feldpost letter and a collecters card, thank you so much HH,EE and BBG.😀👍👍

Another tough hike to a spectacular find! EE used his powers once again!! Beautiful area for a downed plane to rest for years and years! The plane really came to pieces when it hit the ground, so small parts. Then wow, you found the actual impact spot! Great video guys, as always, you guys take us to the real history!!

Another great exploration you guys I wish I had eagle eyes vision thanks for doing all the hard work to find the amazing history and sharing it with us the city that I live near has two world War 2 naval ships and a submarine of the same area as museum ships but the two ships were converted to be missile ships but they are still still very cool to see them because my father served in the Navy but we don't have any crash sites her so it's cool to go out on this exploration thanks for dealing with the gigantic blood sucking bugs
Aviation Archeology is very interesting to me but I am too old to actually go trekking to find any wrecks. About 20 years ago I did some research and got the locations of several crash sites here in Georgia, USA. From WWII to the 60s.
How on earth did you find that? LOL. Amazing. As you know the 109 is my favourite airplane. In particular , I love the Me109G-2 although going by the engine parts, I'd say yours was an E type. Maybe E7. Hard to tell of course. Great job EE. Amazing brilliant job guys. Wow.
Just my thoughts and in a way we had resigned but EE is EE and found the first piece that led us to the rest. Loved it and thanks Paul for being here :)
Thanks! This old German woman appreciates what you are doing. You are my eyes.

The oil coolers, and Ethylene Glycol engine coolers (Radiators) are made with a brass frame designed to hold an exact number of tubes. The tubes themselves are made with a Hex end, so when they are assembled the Hex ends fit together tightly and are then soldered. The Hex end is slightly larger than the round middle section , so when assembled , there are small spaces between each tube, that allow the fluid being cooled to flow through the cooler. Yes i agree and tons of it. Thanks for watching.
Great job!!!
Thank you!!
Aviation Archeology is very interesting to me but I am too old to actually go trekking to find any wrecks. About 20 years ago I did some research and got the locations of several crash sites here in Georgia, USA. From WWII to the 60s.
That’s amazing😮
Appreciate you watching :)
great video
Thanks!
I have a rc Volontex 400mm mini version of number 14 on my desk.😎 It flies great.
Cool and thanks for watching :)
Great job guys
