    I now have a deep desire to meet Phil Anselmo and tell him how great of a man he is. He went from an asshole who's got everything to prove, and nothing to lose, to a very well defined, respectable, mature dude. Hats off to yah.

    Say what you want about him, he really is a fascinating guy to listen to. He does seem like the kind of guy you could have the deepest, most meaningful conversation with. He is probably the kind of guy who never lets his friends down and would do anything for you if you mean something to him. Much respect.

    Phil man, you are a huge inspiration, i'm 21 and blew a disc in my back when i was 19 loading lumber. 2 years later and it still feels like i wake up in a car wreck every morning. Was stoned on painkillers for a while till i got fed up and decided to take reality as it was. People who don't have chronic back pain should consider themselves very blessed.

    My dad told me about this video, and I didn't think that Phill (screaming, roaring and giving the middle finger) would be doing yoga and talking to ducks.
    It just goes to show that people can appreciate the good fortune they have had and help the younger bands trying to make a place for themselves.
    Good on ya Phill.

      Wickle Pinksnout Sorry, my english is not the best. Fuck vinnie he hasn't even got the balls to talk to phil in Person . I think Phil is a great Person, yeah he did some dumb things in the past but his Problem is that he sometimes doesn't think about that what hes saying and vinnie is judging phil for things phil doesn't even ment to say. That's my opinion.

    This is my favorite interview with Phil, it shows how much he has matured over the years and how optimistic he is about life despite all he has been through. Especially after the Heroin addiction, losing Dimebag, and having to carry the burden for that even though he had nothing to do with Dime's murder. Phil is a genuine artist and I got nothing but respect for the man and admire him and his music.

    • @paulablack1863
      @paulablack1863 7 лет назад +4

      Phil Noble You can do it! I know you can. I was in the same exact situation as yours and Phil's. Don't get me wrong, the path is hard and some days u will want to give up fully but don't. The sickness isn't the worst part. It's the mental part that takes a year or so to feel "normal" again. But think about it, what's a year outta your whole life. You will start to feel extremely depressed and agitated. Just fight through it and if needed, go to a doctor who can help. NOT one who will prescribe more narcotics. But one who can help with relaxing your muscles, sleep and fighting the dreaded depression that comes with it. You can conquer this, i promise... JUST DON'T GIVE UP!
      MUCH LOVE TO PHIL!!!!

    Phils a top bloke, and this interview really portrays him as the man he is. I met him once 2 years ago when he was performing in DOWN and as he said, his a much more approachable guy than he's made out to be (and possibly that he was during his heroin years). Hopefully get a chance to meet him again someday.

    It's so awesome to see so many people in the comments saying genuinely good things and really getting to the core of who Phil is. One thing is for sure: he's got a powerful personality, and that is how people need to live their lives - to be an individual, to make up your own mind about things, and to own it and not blame anybody else for your misfortunes. That is why he'd be such a good motivational speaker.

    Thats what I experienced... there was a bunch of guys waiting at the bus in the freezing cold after a DOWN show. At first he quickly passed us and got on the bus, obviously very tired and highly intoxicated. He told us that he was jsut dropping of his stuff and would be out in a minute. I thought he would never ever step out into the cold again to talk to a bunch of dudes, but he actually did! He took his time, talked to every single one, signed stuff and made some fun. Class dude!

    At my tender age of 38, I have to say I grew up with this guy, Mr. Phil Anselmo, as my idol. I went through Boot Camp in the Navy singing Mouth For War. I went to Japan, and found Down.
    I know Mr. Anselmo has gone through his bad times; through all that, he still ends up being my musical idol.

    Just an all around great guy. Never had a chance to meet him personally but at the Agora in 2003 I saw Down and me n my friends were backstage watching the show, he saw us standing there n nodded to us n smiled, n threw me his water bottle, which I still have. We got kicked out eventually, despite we played that stage ourselves many times, but that is the best memory, not to mention the 4 kickass Pantera shows I've seen and 2 Down shows, Phil is a walking legend. Glad he's better now.
