Lure Fishing For Zander On One Of The BIGGEST LAKES In The UK!

- For this latest episode we head out afloat for a spot of lure fishing for predators, fishing on one of the largest lakes in the UK. Fishing with our good friend Phil Spinks, an expert in not only catching Pike, Perch and Zander, but a dab hand at driving and guiding a boat and working a fish finder.
Lure fishing, or vertical jig fishing in over 70ft of water is quite a challenge, but if you get it right it can also be very rewarding and it's a style of fishing we love having a go at, at least a couple of times every season.

Your Zander look and act like our Walleye. Looked like a fun day on the water!
They are a related species. Zander are not very common in the UK though..They are a rare catch in most (not all) Areas.
Nice video 🎣. Those were some fantastic( walleye - pikrell ) Zander. Over here in 🇨🇦 , they would of been going into the frying pan 😋😋. The same with yellow belly Perch, oh so tasty 😋
Zander are pretty Rare in the UK.. There only seem to get caught in certain areas and often at night or during low light conditions.
I fished in the UK for decades and I've never even seen one in the flesh. They are much more of a rarity than Walleye in the U.S.
We do have loads of Big Pike and Perch over here in the UK though and of course some Monster Chub that go to over 10lbs.
Then of course there is the 'Barbel' that can reach double that size and fight like Torpedos.

I knew from the first shot as he took all his brand named gear of its hooks that this guy was going to be a prat. That was confirmed after three minutes, when he didn't tell us where this mysterious "biggest lake in the UK" was. What's up, where you breaking Anglian water park fishery rules or something?

second biggest in England but compared to other lakes in the UK it is tiny.
