Judy, I am 63 years old. In 1972 I was spending the night at my grandparents house, my grandpa had been diagnosed with cancer, he turned on the TV to watch the Waltons. He asked me if a had ever watched it, I said no. Grandpa said watch it with me, the old man makes me laugh. Because of my grandpa I became a life long Waltons fan. Everytime I watch the Waltons I am once again that young boy spending an evening with my grandpa. Good Night Grandpa Covey, I love you.

He's one of the best actors of our time. He has never been given the credit he deserves. The show itself was the best... my mom would bake cookies and we would watch as a family every week. Now that the nation is caught up in so much darkness, the show is like a warm blanket, it is something safe and inviting and I think the Walton's are really America's family the "ideal" picture of what the American family should be and once was. For many millions of people it is more than just a show...

Every day, for a few hours, I feel the feelings of coming home. Richard Thomas is an example of the sheer level of talent that came from the show. The chemistry between all of the actors was magic. 💕

My husband and I watch the show every day. It brings us tremendous comfort to escape the troubles of this Covid world and to the simpler life on Walton's Mountain. Yet, there is always so much strength and admirable lessons to be learned that we take back into the world with us, when the hour is done. It truly helps to lift our spirits and gives us hope and a vision of what the world can be, when love is the primary concern. Thank you and all of your fellow actors for the people you brought into the world in the Waltons.

Richard Thomas is one of my all time favorite actors. His acting on The Waltons moved me to tears, and I mean that literally! There were so many scenes that pulled my heart, I think one of my favorites of his was in the episode 'The Homecoming'. He's telling a story about the first Christmas, his eyes begin to water, and the music too, so beautiful.

The waltons became a weekly pause in our family’s life. My Dad grew up in East Tennessee, much like Virginia, and during the depression. I think for him it was like going home, to a place of warmth and love. My grandfather - Dad’s father- died when dad was 26, and that I believe is why he so loved y’all . In later years Mom and Dad made a special trip to “Walton’s mountain” and met one of the Hamners.

I loved your story about when he split his pants and how you all drew moles on your faces! 😂 Richard Thomas was incredible. He exuded such emotion, whether it was laughter and joy or anger or sadness. His presence filled the screen in every scene he was in. Last night I rewatched The Minstrel, and there was a scene when you were running away from the minstrel in the forest and John Boy found you. You two shared such a beautiful moment in that scene - you could really see the affection you had for each other 💕.

I love to watch The Waltons, thankfully it comes on every day at noon for me. I even skip half of my soaps just to watch the show. Your talks are great, I've watched many of them. I so miss the show and wish it had run for so much longer. I watched it when it first came out and really enjoy the reruns.

Judy, I have known your characters for 49 years of my 59 years. I remember watching the Homecoming in 1971 in Southwest Philadelphia where I grew up. The story, the setting, and all of you have stayed with me since I was 10 years old. As a family we did not watch the Waltons when it was on in the 1970’s, but in the 1980’s I began to watch the reruns of the Waltons and continue to watch the show now. The writing, the stories the music, the characters and the emotion of the Waltons resonate today.

Judy, it means so much that you loved the show enough to have this ongoing series. It confirms how I feel about it. Hearing about Richard Thomas behind the scenes is very interesting. I just love the vulnerability, innocence and wisdom he put into his role. You were all wonderful in your roles and I'm so glad that most of you stuck it out until the end of the series. By the way, when your "Curt" was killed in Pearl Harbor i bawled like a baby. I'll never forget it.

Another great episode has her giving him ideas for how to give his sermon, when he fills in for Reverend Fordwick. Also, she tells him at one point that her people were storytellers, and John Boy says to her that now he knows where the gift of writing came from.
