its crazy seeing such a freak athlete like lee syatt sitting next to such a average person like yoel.
Shan Devin 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahahaha!!!
😂😂😂😂😂
lol
Shan Devin It’s fucking tremendous isnt it
Joey has a nice way of translating while maintaining the conversation at the same time. Not many people can do that. TREMENDOUS.
Dalton Raforth If you smoke enough you can understand every single word.
Joey leaves out a lot but gets the gist of it
So true.. It was rusty at the beginning but my man Joey Diaz did a great job
Ny nj style of communication with the puerto Ricans .
Dalton Raforth he was horrible im cuban joey spanish is super bad my 4 year old can do a better job then he did!
ABSOLUTELY TREMENDOUS
Like a DOCTAH
oh look, it's a nark.
Pretty fucking boring actually.
Uu got that ryt big dog
Tremendous!!
Thats wen my dik gets hard
Lol
Yoel; yaaaa. Yaaaaa. Yeaah
even joeys translated version of what yoel says is remarkably casual and JOEY. there are alot of phases that yoel says more formally
Yoels Spanish: " You always have to remember, you're an apprentice everyday "
Joeys translation: "You're a student everyday dawg"
To be fair Joey's spanish is not the best, and I mean like he's on that 90-95% level of dominance but that other 5% is the advantage that rarely someone that learns any other language (whichever it is) can learn, something that doesn't come with flash cards or text books but with being around that language 24/7. Take Joe's podcast with this 2 guys as an example and sometimes when Yoel said something Joey was either clueless or didn't get what he was trying to say or completely changed the meaning of the sentence, even down to simple words that he have never heard.
So what, he did really well. He made it interesting too
Jay Boogie This example is a bad one, but it does matter. Mistranslations can either (best case) lose a lot of nuance, or (worst case) be just plain wrong. Joe’s interview had both cases.
Joey’s Spanish is fine. Stop criticizing ppl.
lee syatt and the soldier of god, what a combo
JordanM56 Lee Syatt is a soldier of god.
JordanM56 flying Jew and the flying Cuban!!
JordanM56 I’m surprised he didn’t put the christ killer in a rear naked choke
it’s the the soldier of death & the soldier of god
Lee the wuss Syatt and Joey capitan Salazar Diaz
So crazy to think Lee and Yoel are technically the same species.
😆😆😆😆
Race not species bro we are all humans
@@UnicornmooseE30The fuck do you think species means? LMAO
billy bigs ARE YOU DUMB? Species aint race
😂😂😂😂❤️ I love leebut it’s crazy to think what would happen if yoel was to for sometime reason grab him. Imagine what he could do to you.
“When life push you, you push your life y’know” - Yoel Platoro
This episode is going to go down in history as one of the all time greatest podcast we are truly blessed thank you joey
Maybe for a UFC or MMA fan.
This is gold for us Spanish speakers
Joey, I would love more podcasts like this! In spanglish. I understand it might be hard for viewers but it would be an awesome treat every month or two!
Joey's going to translate for Yoel on Rogan's podcast soon. Should be a good episode!
Starts at 12:00 p.m cali time.
I can't understand most of what they saying but u still enjoy it
As a Cuban-Mexican raised kid I love Joey and Yoel’s Spanish in this bc this is how my dad and uncles talk, shits great
King5003 the best part of growing up in SoCal is that I was able to understand this podcast lmao
Dunno why but it's fascinating watching and hearing Joey speak in Spanish
He tries so hard to sound cool, but if you speak spanish you'll notice hes being fake and sounds dumb af
Gilberto Maldonado Tacuba stop hating on the man.
Exagera mucho al hablar pero le pone emocion. I don't mind it at all
@@gmt1223 I do feel like he uses some words that are completely unnatural as you can see that Yoel is hella cuban (Obviously way more cuban than joey) and he doesn't need to use a lot of the flamboyant word that joey does use. It could be that as he is not actually cuban but only has cuban roots he has this weird almost stereothyped cuban way of talking and he doesn't notice it but yes, I think that most likely he's trying a bit too hard to sound cool.
I honestly don't think he's trying too hard to sound cool. I just don't think he really knows that much Spanish too well, at least not to have a comfortable conversation. He misinterprets some words which sound similar and you'd think have the same meaning, but really don't. He knows enough to get the general point across in translation.
Tremendous episode, looking forward to the JRE tonight
Tonight? You live in England?
I have to stay up to listen to JRE live in the UK.
diesel92kj1
Man that sucks, but at least it's a good day ender.

stupid and not funny comparison! GTFO if youre under 18.
Joey should’ve slipped this man a star of death or 6
Obi Dibs Jeff novitzky would be down there to test him personally.
He'd probably experience a bad trip and murder everyone there. Too risky.
Are you kidding me? This dude has no fat content, he'd still be high during the next Whittaker fight.
Lol “he’d murder everyone too risky”.... that’s hilarious
Paulo Nogueira weed is allowed if your not fighting 😂😂😂 so Jeff would prob join him
He looks small sitting next to Lee "hummus champ" Syatt
LMAO !!
lel
So cool to hear about his life, being a cuban myself, theres a soft spot in my heart for fellow cubans ❤️
Dale 🇨🇺🫡
You're the man Joey. It's awesome seeing Yoel here, good luck to him in his next fight against Whittaker

EY FUCKO ESCUCHAME
Cause he would curse too much lol
Es Tremendo😂😂😂.
ALL TIME CLASSIC.
i swear the things Yoel says, gives me chills of inspiration.
10:30 watching Lee fumble a thought, and watching Joey try to understand. This is the best thing about this episode.

OHHHHHH MYYYYY GOOOOODDDDDDDD!!!
Joey and Yoel are going to be awesome on JRE podcast
Robert Ruiz I don't really know, Joey is not capable of translating correctly. They should bring a better translator
yeah!! cant wait
Joey translating heavily accented Spanish covering diverse topics with extensive vocabulary...and then struggles on basic 1st grader Spanish word.
Joey: "Como se dice "Sadness" in Spanish?"
Gotta love Joey. Still great.
Triste. Lol
Life push you, no you push you life... great advice
pretty much anyone could have said that, those words dont help you at all in any situation, but it's a healthy attitude i think
This is the second time I hear this episode, honestly it's one of my favorite. Hopefully Joel visits Joey again soon again.
Muchas gracias señor Díaz por sus historias y conocimiento.
I dont know yoel but he seems like a really nice, person.
2 of the coolest Cubans on the planet! This episode stays in rotation. Gotta watch it at least once a week. This 1 and the 2 he did with Jorge "Masdival" LOl
whoever dislikes this podcast must be luke rockhold fans

and then watch humble ass Yoel help Joey clean up his spill. This is real conversation and love people.
lookwhatsnext Can't believe this man Yoel is 40 fucking years old..
All you momos wish you payed attention in Spanish 1 now huh...
Jay Why ?
Lynxchillin08 because they speak Spanish throughout the podcast
I live in America, Fuck Spanish 1.
America is mainly spanish. WHat you on about? You must live in Canada, USA or perhaps French Guyana or something...
America is not USA. Get that thru your uneducated brains, what the hell they teach you in those indoctrination centers known as High school and college? Nothing? You live in North America. (not to you Jay. big ups for you)
Please so more of these! My Spanish is broken but I can understand better than I speak but I can understand like everything keeps l Joey says because he speak so slow and clear. Really awesome
Ty for the fast turn around lee!
About to watch it a second time uncle Joey is the definition of REAL
Mark my words this podcast will be the one that puts joey over 300k and beyond.
Especially after the JRE cross pollination tonight
I’m Mexican and I’m glad we had Joey to interpret the Cuban Spanish hahaha love this podcast
Yoel is a BEAST! He looks great for his age. I'd like to see him avenge his loss to Whitaker and get that belt. He seems like a good humble dude he deserves to be champ
Uncle Joey did a great job of not interrupting and letting Yoell speak his entire thought. Great show fellas!!!!
An amazing podcast brotha so much passion and suffering from the soldier of god. So blessed to be able to understand the language.
Been waiting for this since first heard about it! Thanks. 3rd time listening and podcasting. Thanks again Church Joey and Lee-sa.
As a Cuban American that doesnt watch boxing or anything like that I was just introduced to a wonderful man, Yoel Romero. I'm a fan now and will be watching all the youtube on him for the next hour. Joey Diaz, as always, tremendous. The translating while still keeping the conversation energy going was perfection. I've gained a ton of respect watching this for Diaz, more than already had. Can't wait to hear about more his sister. I know he's going to eventually do a deep dive into this with his new life in Jersey.
Merry Christmas cocksuckers
Joey, thank you for doing this.
Y’know after watching this podcast I really have the upmost respect for Yoel. The things he’s done to get where he is for his family. And also it’s VERY rare you see someone changing Joeys mind and teaching him something on a deeper level. Not necessarily math or whatever the fuck else.... but something inside. Yoel is a very wise man. Much respect 👊🏼🙏🏼
Great podcast, one of the best from Joey, I can’t imagine not knowing Spanish and thinking joey did a good job translating
I LUVVVVVVVV YOU MY CUBAN BROTHER!
"Melvinder Singh" there are Punjabi sikhs in Cuba?
Thank you for having Yoel on here this was awesome 👏🏼
Instant classic podcast! Man, I'm patting the shit out of my own back for paying attention in my Spanish classes, practicing drunken espanol at the taco shops and embarrassing myself in Mexico (I live in San Diego).
Muchas gracias, Tio Joey y el Soldado de Dios! OH! El Cristo asesino tambien! Haha
D WMS Nice. Learning a language means it's that much easier to travel the world.
I thoroughly enjoyed this so far. Interesting dynamic with the translations, Romero rambles in english and Joey comes in with the clarification. Looking forward to rogan mma talk.
Saggersaurus So he's still going on Rogans podcast after this ?
Yeah, it's planned. Looking forward to that one.
47:40 Joey falls into trance as Lee mesmerises him with the power of The Bible
Hard to believe the whole entire building didn't implode from the sheer amount of athletic explosiveness on that table. Lee, Joey, and im sure Yoel helps too...
Yoel says something simple in Spanish and Joey translates it with 3 curse words LOL
i watched both podcasts too good thank you joey and yoell
Never clicked something so fast.
uncle joey, this interview was amazing! thanks for making this happen!
Dude, growing up in Florida fucking helps, Yoel eres un gran luchador e inspiración para todo un país, sigue haciendo lo que haces. 💪
Love uncle Joey Diaz , Love Lee and LOVE YOEL ROMERO! Best part of the day !
Here is a full translation for Uncle Joey and Yoel's podcast, maybe some of you guys would like to get a closer look at how it went down : ) enjoyWell
my man, yoel is a person who was born and raised in a humble town in pinar del rio called cuba
libre, people call it the rancho, I’m from there born and raise, raised like
all Cubans very humble, no shows on, playing baseball, running in the rain. Just
like all the kids in Cuba, I am not different than any of the kids from Cuba. I
always staying surrounded with my people. There was never any race issues,
white, black whatever, it was an amazing time those days, everyone was the
same, therefore there were no “oh they have more money than me therefore they
are better” so on so on. For everyone the most important thing was their
relationships with one another as a community. I have 3 sisters and 4 brothers,
my father was an amateur boxer, Number 3 in Cuba at the time, his full time gig
was a boxer for the national team at the Olympic center. Never really went to
the Olympic since he was number three. In those times we have magnificent
boxers in Cuba, and everyone knew our number one guy I his division Jose Gomez,
who was an amazing guy, the number2 guy was bernardo coma and no3 was my father. If those two men were not in the way my
father could have been number one, but he had two BADass men in the way. I’ve always wanted to box but my father did
not want that for me, he always said “I don’t really want you to follow my
footsteps” “”maybe try another sport” and then I came across a wrestling coach
who told me that I had a talent for wrestling, in the meantime though I tried a
lot of sports like baseball. But finally I choose wrestling; the coach told me
“your family has wrestling and boxers, that is what you are meant to do.” Cuba has a special system; they called it the
pyramid system that works very well. In this system they take you into sports
at an early age, I was 8 years old when I started. JOEY:
“and then when as you grow, cities like Pinar del rio, would go against Camaguey?”
?” Joel: yea, the system begins through neighborhood,
or “houses” and as you continue to succeed, you go and compete nationals,
internationals, so on. When I was 18
years old, I was part of the JR national teams, which was a change of life than
what I grew up as. In Cuba, as you join the national team, then you get better
“treatment” compared to the rest of the Cuban populations, you get more
adequate care. Just like everywhere else, the athletes are a priority. I really
feel that God gives the talent to the people and if you go to Cuba today, you
can see it. I truly feel that god gave Cuban people the Sports talent. I see
people with tons of talent to perform any sport; the other part of it is the
system that Cuban has developed for sports are magnificent. In Cuba they have a
magnificent way to train sports. Joey: when I was young in Cuba I was a
“karate guy” a Judoka- people would tell me that in Cuba Jude was the SHIT,
they would send you to japan to train or something like that?” Yoel: yea
it’s true, but you know this is true everywhere in the world, like the USA for
example, the wrestling team, they would send their team to Russia for 2or3
month, this is done in every country to help the athletes get more
experience. But I believe that the
essence that makes the Cuban sportsman’s superior is that Gift given from
God. Same as that Cubans are happy
people you know, that just comes with being a Cuban. If you were to take 3 to 5
people from Brazil, 3 will play very good football. That’s just their god given
talent to play football. Take 3,4,10 people from Jamaica for track, believe me
5 to 6 will be very good athletes. Joey:” in the summer back in the day in
the offseason the American baseball players would go train in Cuba, you know
metal sharpens metal. When you would wrestle in Cuba how many hours would you
train? No distraction no TV no internet.” Yoel:
it was 100% training and studying, then you go back to your house, you eat,
and then back to training and this is very depending on your age. I would only go home for Saturdays and
Sundays but besides that you lived in the schools. Stay in school M-F, there you would train, go to regular
classes, they would feed you. Also being
a wrestler it kept me from having to take part of the mandatory military
service. At 32-33 years old I decided to
leave Cuba because I wanted a better life for my family, I wanted to do mma and
I had dreams for my family.
I
couldn’t make it to the ufc in Cuba. When you want to get to a better level or
stage in your life you have to go after it, you can’t just stay in the same
place. If you stay surrounded by the same environment there everything stays
the same, people need to venture out to where there are better options, and the
best option for me was to get out of Cuba, you have to follow your dream. In Cuba people watch MMA, I would watch old
school MMA, vale tudo, also and when it was referred to Ultimate fighter, Tank abbot’s
era. All those things would Filter down
to the Cuban people through means of DVD’s, sometimes people that would come
into cuba from others country’s would bring this dvds and people would rip it
and copy it and pass it down. When I used to watch this I would say, “I can do
this, not only can I do this, I can be the best at this.” The time I decided to leave cuba I said to
myself “well my time here in cuba has come to an end, im gonna start my life
outside of cuba.” I told a selected few in cuba that I was planning on leaving.
People that I was was very close to. I told them “this is what I need to do for
my people and family, I might achieve this thing im seeking or maybe I won’t
but im gonna risk my life to try to reach It.” im gonna do everything I can to
reach my dream and be a champ, train like a crazy person. That’s when I went to train in Germany with
the national Cuban team, and when I won the grand prix, I called my little
brother who is a boxer in Germany and told him “ listen, I don’t want to go
back to cuba” he said “are you sure?” to told em “yea im never going g
back” in Germany I continued wrestling,
until one day I saw a MMA competition they were having and I told me self im
going, even though I never had training I knew that I could fight and not only
could I fight, but I could win. I stayed in Germany for 6 years, and it took 11
years to see my family in Cuba. My son who stays in Cuba has a different mom
who we split up and never really talked after that. But the mother of my children I met in
Germany, she is CUBANA-GERMAN. LEE’S QUESTION ABOUT LOVE FOR CUBA BUT
WANTING TO GET OUT: I love cuba, I have a passion and love for my country,
if you ask people who go through an exodus of their country, if they love their
country, they say “ yea I love my country” no one says the opposite. I love my people, I love my country, I love
the people I played with when I was I kid, when I go to cuba now, I cry, I see
this people and I cry, you know, it just becomes part of your essence. If someone says I don’t love my country you
are an empty man, you are nothing, a nobody. Joey: when you were a kid did you ever thing about leaving Cuba? Yoel: never! When you are born you say,
“Im was born here I will die here! In this same house, when you are born you
look to the left, you look to the right and you see your mother your father,
sister, brother your entire family and you say this is my kingdom, this is all
I need.” In your mind you say I will die
here with my people, you don’t have this thought of I want to go out to another
house, you only think of “this” many years later. The same way happens when you grow and see
that your life pushed you to where you are now, if life pushes you down, you
push back for better. so then you move away from your parents’ home, because
you have a wife and a daughter, kids.
You make this move to improve the life of your kids not to improve your
living situation, but to improve theirs.
When you leave you parents’ home, you don’t think about going to another
house, to another house country city, language or culture. That’s why I say if
life pushes you, push it back, if life is not giving you things that you need
to give the best to your family, you have to find it where it is. JOEY: I know the suffering you been
through because all Cubans go through it. So then you are in Germany, you join
the first mma fight and did you win? YOEL:
I won, knockout. With no amateur fights, right into it, they
told me you cannot do amateur because you have Olympic background, so I was
like OMG, alright…. I was scared because never trained you know, im still
learning right now, im a pioneer im learning at the moment and I try to
learn something new every day, you’ll stop learning the day
you die and have the mind like the great architect says, mind of a child. JOEY: I always talk about the mentality of people
who come over from other countries, the mentality is different, I always have
to be doing something that lead me to my goal, all those years doing drugs and
all fucked up, it lead me to become a comic, I was arrested and all that
madness lead me here. Yoel: I went to strike force first, a
very hard fight with the ex champ, I believe he had recently lost his title,
Rafael fejiao, let me tell you, like I say, everything I see in life is
positive, because if I won this fight you know who would have been my next
fight, Sanderson, he would have been the next fight and would of destroyed me.
Till recently he is undefeated, he had experience, he would of fucked up my
career, one hit in the jaw my jaw wouldn’t of been the same and yea I thank god
for doing that. after Rafael I went to the ufc, after 2 years of not fighting
for a neck surgery and god was good: like always he allowed the ufc to see good
in me, after 1 fight in strickeforce.
The ufc took over strickeforce about 1 month after my fight and they
knew that I WAS GOING to have surgery, not even had it yet. And they still
said, ok “he is coming from a knockout loss and he is gonna have surgery who
god knows if he is going to fight again”, they still said, “ ok ill pay for the
surgery, and ill still take him”
I took a 2 year of rehab and shortly after the operation 4
months after I started to train, normally people take 1 year just to run after
the operation, and after 4 months I was already hitting pads, I felt my neck
get stiff and tense, but I was my lifes financial support. So yea I get the
operation and 4 months after I began training, after I started training 7
months they called me for the first fight. Vs Clifford star, and thanks god I
won knockout of the night. And here we
are moving forward. And yea I still love Cuba and will love it till I day, im
Cuban. I still have a son, my parent’s
sister’s brothers and friends and history. Even though im outside of Cuba im
still makes history in Cuba. JOEY: did
you ever meet Fidel? Yoel: Yea I met
him, I shake his hand and hug him and all, when I was 22 years old. I became a champ at 20 years old. And when I
won the champ It was 1999, I at that point had other medals, in the 2000 Sydney
Olympics won silver. Fidel told me congratulations, all the athletes in cuba I
was always top 10 in cuba including all other sports athletes. But in Cuba to
make it it’s a whole another world. JOEY: ASKS ABOUT STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN: YOEL:
I heard stories of that, im only 41 years old I dint live it, but I know about
it. In cuba now u hear music of
everyone, Jay-z it doesn’t matter. Some
places now have internet they have it in sections, like cafes. And thankfully
god has kept my family healthy and everyone is doing good.
JOEY:
TALKS ABOUT HAVING SADNESS: YOEL: I understand what you are saying because
it happens to me too, I also go through sadness, and it doesn’t matter if u
leave at an early age, do you know Moises history in the bible, Moises doesn’t
remember nothing about his family, you left cuba at 3, but Moises mom put
Moises in his basket but in his soul he loved his Jewish people. He saw a
Egyptian hitting Israelite and he felt bad because he saw of course a human hit
a human but also because he knew that that was his people. And that’s what is
happening to you, you feel sad because you feel like you left a piece of you
behind. You know sometimes you don’t have to say something because a gesture
says more than a thousand words. You see her you hug her and cry and that says
it all, because what can you say? You don’t have anything to say but you have
to “do” things like hug her because, you haven’t hugged her for 52 years, there
is no point in saying anything, you should just hug her for the amount of time
you haven’t been able to, that’s it. JOEY talks about not knowing how rough
Cubans had it until 1985. YOEL: this is the biggest problems humans have in
their spirit, that we don’t want to forget the past, you
have to forgive the people, you have to forgive and forget,
the worse diseases is hate. And this is a way we are born, and because the
route of life we will die. This was not something that god planned out, it was
our choice to separate from god and because of that we die. Because of that choice its normal to get
sick, to catch a cold a headache a knee pain a cough just like everything else
being normal, sanity and cures. June 8th
im fighting for the championship and im blessed, I tell god thank you for this
opportunity and this talent, you’ve placed me in this route and I take it with
love and all certainty that im here because you want me here, “take me there
and I’ll go” -- People are gonna have to
pay to see what’s gonna be different in this fight. Every day it’s a different
day, but I trust in god that im gonna be not how I feel now, but better and now
I feel good I feel good im weighing 208lbs.
LEE ASKS ABOUT HOW DOES HE TAKES
HIS FIGHTS WITH SO MUCH PRESSURE FROM HIS “PEOPLE”
YOEL: I was gonna tell you that you are talking
about my attitude but you have the same as me.
JOEY:I like when
people tell me that I cant do something, that’s what gets my dick HARD.
Joey: this is what
he wants to eat (lee), he wants to move to Miami for this
-------I got hungry
as fuck watching the food so I just had to stop and get me a pan con croquette ;)

Thank you Yoel for doing the podcast.

OMFG YOEL PODCAST LET'S GOOOOO
Joel Romero
Luke Bostwick hahahahahahaha you clocked it tooo
He needs to get Khalabeeb on next.
Basically the same name. Yoel = Spanish for Joel
would be great with subtitles, anyway much love for the 3
Joey should have done the whole Interview in spanish then have somebody add subtitles later. It get's confusing when they switch all the time and you can't understand half of what Yoel is trying to say in english
dustbin it was still good
yah but a lot of people are listening just to pure audio so that wouldnt work
Joey is no longer a fluent spanish speaker, so I assume they had to do it this way
This was too chaotic for me but I believe in Joe Rogan to be better at moderating the conversation
It wouldn't work live brotha. I'm actually blessed I know the second language it was a very passionate conversation from yoel
Good shit Lee with the early and quick upload
I lahh youu
Joey was lit off of perks in this lol
INSTANT nut
Thank you Joey... what an amazing podcast...
Could have used alot more translation
