I wish I had seen this before my visit to Best Buy. They gave me a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter (which is not compatible with Chrome OS) instead of a USB-C to HDMI. Now I know and thank you so much.

I have a HDMI tv that I purchased back in 2010. I used that same cable between the TV and my new Chrome book & pressed to same buttons. But no such luck. I guess I'm gonna have to experiment with a different cable set up. This will be my 3rd & final try. I never had this sort of problem with Windows.😤

Thanks because of your video I was able to see a movie I have wanted to see for a long time but I couldn't figure out how to make it work ...my last chromebook all I had to do was plug in the usb to HDMI cable from the tv to the chromebook and it worked..This new one never worked so I just gave up..till i saw your video and pushed the control and the squares with triangles button..(very descriptive) and I got it! again thanks alot!

Does it export just the video to tv or will the cable export both video AND audio to the Tv?

It'd most likely export audio and have it come from your tv speakers.

Do I need a special cable or adapter to get my TV to display HD from my Chromebook? I have a plain cable, HDMI to the TV, USB-C to Chromebook. I get picture and sound, but not high definition like from my regular lap top which uses HDMI at both ends.
