There will never be another Larry Bird. My Grandfather is from French Lick and knew him and his whole family. When Larry retired my Grandfather quit watching basketball. He'll be 92 this year and still talks about how great Larry was. Great video man. French Lick is an awesome little town.

Great video. I was raised in French Lick and knew Larry. He and my husband were friends. We had a hair style shop where my husband cut Larry' hair when he attended SVHS. His mom was a regular customer at our shop. She would talk about interesting things Larry would say or do and then laugh and say but don't tell anyone. I sure miss those days.

Being a Hoosier and my Dad a basketball coach, Larry Bird was and still is hero in my household.I can remember watching him when I was very young. In 2002 I was able to meet LB at Conseco Fieldhouse before a Pacers game. it was an awesome experience and moment in my life I will never forget. I have driven through French Lick but have never seen his home. That was so awesome man. I really appreciate this video man.

Like you said, not flashy--he didn't care about the spotlight, just wanted to be part of the best team, do his best & win! Great video, thanks for all the details I've not seen/heard before. God Bless you 💕💕

Another x factor vlog about a fella i have now learnt about. I was sad to hear about his Dad but those soldiers went through and saw unspeakable things there did not seem to be alot of support back then so the family had to "deal" with the fallout. Larry found his passion and his community stand so proud Larry is very inspirational to others. You would make a great tour guide Jordan, Big Gidday to your Grandy, Jah and of course you lol

I never knew him but saw in a store in the valley one day.I didn't try to talk to him because an older lady was talking to him and knew he was a private person.I remember how big he was. I've been wanting to visit the museum so now it is a must do.

I have a lot of good memories playing sports but because I was a girl I wasn't allowed to play on teams with boys. I played with my neighborhood boys I was the only girl old enough to play. Hoosiers stick together. Thanks for the memories Larry.

I went to French Lick in I think 1993 to see where Larry grew up. We found out that he lived outside of town so we drove out to his house and as we topped the hill his house was on the left. Believe it or not, he was actually outside at the time. He went back in as we slowed down. We could also see his basketball court. We went to the high school and we were lucky enough to find a custodian who let us in. That was cool seeing the court. Pretty sure the restaurant wasn't there way back then.

My fave basketball player of all time! Thank you so much for this one Jordan. I went and got to see him play at the silver dome against the pistols the last year the pistols won back to back at that time. I got a Larry bird poster and held it up as he came out. It was one of his last times playing and my brothers booth new what I was going to do. I almost got my ass beat on that day only being about 14 years old. It was all worth it and I would do it again.

Great Vlog, Larry and the Celtics vs Lakers rivalry was epic. I got to see the Dream Team here on PDX where they held the tournament of the America's. We had Clyde as a hometown hero. I think Larry was at the tail end of his career, and his back was hurting him. He did not play as far as can remember util the crowd starting chanting Larry Larry Larry. Fitch put him in for a few minutes, and the crowd loved it. It was the only time I ever got to see him play. Thumbs up.

I can relate richard. I grew up in Jersey surrounded by degenerate Yankee fans. In fact the first game I ever saw was Yankees vs. Red Sox in 1961. But I became a die hard Red Sox fan in 67 and never looked back. I always think it took some courage to be a Sox fan deep in the heart of Yankee Land.

YOU MISSED a whole lot of the French Lick story! Larry is a big part, but there is also Al Capone, Prohibition, Pluto Water, mineral springs at West Baden (FDR was convinced they would cure his polio) and NEVER forget Mr. Hoagy Carmichael. And then there's the Dome. Oh, My! Be in touch on your next trip through southern Indiana. I'll set you up.

Jealous over here. You just brought back memories of my school days. Mid-late 80's to mid 90's was a great time for basketball. I'm a Bulls fan (chicagoan here), and I grew up watching Jordan playing against Bird, Magic, Barkley. Great vlog.

I love how excited you get over things. You wearing Larry's jacket was just awesome. I'm so happy that happened for you. I loved Larry too back in those days. I'm sure your grandpa is going to love this. Thanks for reminding me about Larry. Glad to know he's still in basketball. Great vlog. I'm glad the comments are back. Not going to ask what caused you to stop them. I'm sure you had your reasons. Thanks for this lovely vlog and I'm looking forward to tomorrow's.
