My family recently relocated from WA to rural Mississippi. Being in a self sustainable mindset gives you little time to worry or desire for what you do not need. I loved your story! Beautiful. God is so good.

Currently in Washington state as a family of six and can attest that our government here is very resistant to self sufficiency. Seattle pretty much dictates the rest of the state. Most of those city folk think food comes from Walmart. We are preparing to leave as my husband won't have a job over the j@b. A blessing in disguise? Can't wait to see how this evil will be used for Good! Your story is inspirational ❤️

Thank you! Yes, so true. And I’m so sorry, some of my family members have lost their jobs there too for the same reason. But I agree, there will be good that comes!

Oh my goodness! What a story. I so wish we could homestead too but all our friends and family are in California. We left California because of the politics, ridiculous school system, and extremely high cost of living. We now live in Oklahoma but we are still not able to live financially comfortable because things are a bit high here too and we have 6 kids. I pray one day soon, God will open the door for us to buy land and build a home and homestead and homeschool. You’re literally living our dream. God bless your family. Thank you for sharing your life and family with us. 💗

What a wonderful story - it so resonated with my, all the reasons I have been incorporating this lifestyle since I was a young child. I am now 64, I have had 3 children and have 18 grandchildren and we just bought our first homesteading home. My husband still works and is retired military but my hope is that he will be home soon to work on our homestead full time. Bless you and your family - Bobbi

Thank you for sharing your family’s beautiful messy and blessed story! God keep you and bless you all. Thank you for all your encouragement. So much of y’all’s story resonated with me. I just semi-retired as a ballet instructor after many many years of dancing and teaching in order to be obedient to God in raising and nurturing our kiddos. We just moved a little ways from where we were and inherited 3 chickens. Not a huge spot of land but enough to grow on in raised beds. Pray for us that we would slowly and realistically be able to learn do grow and repeat and use what God has provided being good stewards of the land, animals, health, and children because they are ultimately His. Much love ❤️ The Marfil’s from GA

So inspiring! Shared your video with my sister in Wisconsin! They are hoping to buy a homestead in the next year or 2. My husband and I just started our homesteading journey April 1st...when we bought our 10 acre farm. So far we have planted fruit trees, planted a huge garden, and have 15 laying hen chickens. We can't wait to start sharing our journey on our upcoming RUclips channel!!

    Yep. I'm in. 😁
Half of me says "she's maybe a bit crazy around the edges."
The other half says "I've been told I'm a little crazy around the edges".
And, finally, my OTHER half says "follow HER journey & see who the "crazy" REALLY is.
From experience, I know the answer going in.
It's. NOT. Us. It's the rest of the world who ALWAYS seems to think they always have THE answer... YOUR answer (s). The interesting thing to me, is that "they" are almost ALWAYS wrong. WE... are the answer to OUR questions in life.
    Nobody else... just. us.
    What a wonderful realization.
    Carry on...
Thanks for inviting us to share your journey.
    I'll be watching... ❤️

I watched it this morning and it made me cry. Your story is exactly what we are going through. We want many kids (because they are so perfect!) and currently looking for a land. This land searching and skyrocketed lumber price takes toll on us but we know we can do it. Although we are in the phase of having only child and renting at the moment, it is so encouraging to hear your story and that you made it. I have faith that God will always guide us. And yes, like you said, our ultimate goal is to bring back what God has created for us. I want to provide the environment where our children can thrive as God intended. God bless you and your family! Thank you for sharing this! Lots of love from East Texas :) ❤️🙏

Perfectly said!! Love your journey/ adventure! We are in a similar one. We have 6 children except 3 of them are already 18 and older. We thought we would have already reached out dream but we haven't yet. All of our kids are still home for right now. And our homestead isn't perfect or done but your channel is a wonderful way i keep going. Even if we never get it " perfect" I know we are on our own journey, our own God given path. Our youngest just turned 1. I just keep praying daily we are raising our kids the way God wants. When people call us crazy it honestly makes me try all the more. If crazy is wanting my family as healthy as we can be then it's me. I believe God will keep guiding us. Thank you so much for sharing your story and your family with us!! I learn so much and you inspire me! God bless you!!💗

Now I realize that the journey towards these goals is what I want them to experience, and we are doing that! And so are you! We’ll never reach anything close to “perfect.” That’s what heaven is for. Nothing on this earth will be perfect. May God continue to bless you and your family as well! ❤️

What a wonderful story, filled with grit and determination! This is what our children need to see in us. Thank you for sharing it. Like you, as a teenager, I did not want children. Now we have twelve. Ha! We are currently looking for a somewhat established farm in TX, MO, and TN. We live in TX and have grown children and grandchildren here, so we're trying hard to stay here. It's exciting to see where the Lord will lead us. If you feel comfortable, I would love to see a home tour video and maybe more details of what was most important to you in the building process/floor plan of your home (i.e. food storage, open concept, layout, etc.). Thanks again and well done!

I just watched this, after I watched the Azure Standard mistakes to avoid video,( great video BTW)! I must admit this one got me in the heart. We are going through the same thing here in Utah, and none of our plans are working but we persevere. And to answer your friends question.." why does it matter?" we will all very soon find out! Ask Claus Schwab why he is so concerned about people like us being independent. You guys are awesome and I just found a new mentor! P.S. great job on your home, how long did it take? We are living in our paid for A frame we just remodeled because like your Mobile home it was DAMAGED! It was supposed to be for an Airbnb for income but because of the bureaucracy of our tiny town our build is being held up for over a year now, but we are grateful to have it! And because of the Globalist bureaucracy devaluing our earned and saved dollars we can no longer build what we wanted and have to combine barn and home because we will not go into debt. BUT we feel it's so important because of what is coming. Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your story and your hard earned and valuable information and lessons! God Bless, protect and prosper you all!

Thank you for your kind words. ❤️ I’m so glad my story could help inspire you. It’s not an easy path to take. But so worth it! Our home took 2 years to build, but we had many friends in the trades to help. If I could do it over, I would probably have made it smaller and put some money into a barn and fencing instead. That’s next on our list!

I"m so touched by your stroy. Every hardship is like God helping us to go he right direction! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I do agree the sourdough can't get us to heaven but our bodies is the Temple of God, it's great for his children to take good care of themselves until we meet him face to face! Ok my question is, I live in a high maintenance city Hong Kong, trying to stay as organic as we could, however, the expenses and properties price are outrageous. I try to make my own sourdough and eat organic, but it's impossible for us to own a land. If you were me, how mcuh you would continue to strive for a life close to your current one? I'm struggling and your live actually is my ultimate goal. I'm tryihng to stay sober and have my family live like we are meeting Jesus tomorrow but the everyday struggle is real.... Hope you will read my message

I’m so glad I found this video and heard your story! We are starting out on basically the exact same journey! Today we are moving out of our big house and moving into an RV for a couple of years while we attempt to purchase 40 acres of land. We’re not sure if the sale’s gonna go through, but we figured renting out the house and living in an RV for a couple of months will help us save a huge down payment whether it’s this land or some different land, and then we’re gonna Live in the RV for a while out there until we can build a house and set out on our own little homesteading adventure!
It’s so reassuring to find someone else who has been on that journey and came out alive and well 😂

We have 60 acres here, about 25 of forest and the rest field/yard. And yes, it is! There are some crops that need a head start indoors, but other than that, I don’t find it that much different than growing in WA. In fact, I think things grow better here!

How do you find mentors and people that will help you when you’re moving somewhere where you don’t know anyone? I mean it would be challenging enough to get a family member to help us if they lived near us. How did you do it? I don’t think we have much money either. By the time the realtors get their fees, and all the closing costs and other fees selling our house, will be lucky to break even. But I know we want to get out of Florida and get into the country somewhere where we can learn to Homestead. My husband has some money in his 401(k), which I’m starting to wonder if maybe we should just withdraw it and use that. But honestly I am very scared. My husband doesn’t even know how to build a chicken coop. He’s a truck driver that’s all he knows. He did once fix a leak under our kitchen sink by watching a RUclips video. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions you can give me. I don’t like where the society is going and I know we need to learn to be self-sufficient. Thank you for this wonderful video.

    • @TheFromScratchFarmhouse

I’m glad you enjoyed the video. ❤️ We were blessed to already have a church community in the location that we moved. Even though we had never met them, we had a connection and instant “family.” Without this, I’d suggest you get involved immediately in your new location. Whether that’s at a church, a mom’s group, or wherever you can find other people with similar values. As far ad your husband not having homesteading skills, just know that skills help but if your heart is in it you’ll figure it out. You can learn anything on the internet these days! I wish you all the best!

My answer to people who say why does it matter if it’s not required to get into heaven is Why rush to get to heaven or speed up your children’s process to get there or make it painful by feeding them processed foods that will hurt them
