  • In this video, I take you through a day in the life of my large homesteading family. I will show you my routine for making all of our meals from scratch. I will also show you an easy recipe for old-fashioned lard soap!
    Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup: www.thefromscratchfarmhouse.c...
    Sourdough Crackers: 1 cup sourdough, 1 cup flour, 1 tsp. brown sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 1/4 cup olive oil, coarse salt for topping
    Old-Fashioned Lard Soap:
    - 1200 g. rendered lard
    - 456 g. distilled water
    - 160 g. lye

    Such a fun video! As a Floridian, I can't fathom having to wait until June to plant. That's when we harvest our first round of summer crops and start planting the second round. 😂

      Mostly I use this plain lard soap for my powdered laundry soap, but I'm going to try it in place of dish soap as well. It's great for skin as well!
